Wonderful experience

October 28, 2012

My husband, dog and I were up in Lehighton and Jim Thorpe for a short 2 day vacation. The owners were very kind and sweet. The cottage was clean, spacious and nicely furnished. There were woods and trails in the back of the cottage that my dog and I explored while my husband relaxed and watched TV. We hiked at Beltzville State Park, took the Lehighton scenic train ride, and checked out Jim Thorpe and Mauch Chunk lake. We had a pleasant and restful time and will be going back again. Very grateful to the owners for making this cute cottage a dog friendly one.

Owner's reply:

Thank you Beena. It was a pleasure to have you all and hope you come back soon to visit us again. Thanks. Nan

Amazing hospitality!

April 12, 2012

My family and I recently enjoyed a trip to Jim Thorpe, PA and stayed at a cottage owned by the Cressleys. They were very accommodating and allowed us to check in earlier and leave later so we could visit longer. My Yorkie loved the trail behind the cottage where she had company while walking with the Cressley's 3 dogs! My 7 year-old loved the fact that they had chickens and made their honey (which we bought two jars of!). I will certainly come back to stay at the cottage and would reccommend this stay to anyone.

A nice place for our puppies and ourselves!

It is always difficult to find a pet-friendly place to stay, and this cottage was exactly what we needed. The washer and dryer were so convenient after our whitewater rafting trip!

The Basics

August 24, 2010

The "cottage" is an older place with repairs needed but nothing that affected us directly. It could have been cleaner in a few spots though generally was pretty clean. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances, dishes and utensils of all kinds. The bed is horrible and needs replacing though we were surprised our backs weren't that sore the next day, so could be worse. The backyard is awesome! Our dog loved running around and watching the deer. This is a very safe area and the owners are very nice. It is close to the highway. With the windows open, the highway noise is audible though not very loud.

Rustic, but great for our purposes

July 7, 2010

We were headed to Jim Thorpe and couldn't find a place where we could bring our dog, until we found this cottage. It worked out perfectly. Keep in mind, this is a cottage so space is a little cramped and there were some spiderwebs and things like that, but nothing we couldn't deal with. The yard is huge and the location is excellent. Really, it was great for our purposes. Also, the owners are really nice!

Great place for both us and our dog

October 3, 2009

This was the perfect place for a nice relaxing vacation. The cottage was very clean and very comfortable. There is a huge backyard and beyond it there are trails through the woods. It's an ideal place to take your dog! The area is very prety with plenty to do. Jim Thorpe is a lovely little town. The ownders are super nice and very helpful. We would love to return.
