Description of the Lexington vacation cabin rental
The Highlands Cabin, c 1775, was brought here from what is now West Virginia & carefully restored adding modern amenities, a kitchenette, large bathroom, front sitting porch, screened back porch & a 2nd floor bedroom. The bricks in the first floor fireplace were handmade, just after the War Between the States, by freed slaves working in a nearby brick yard in "Free Hollow".

This cabin, as are all our cabins, are fully furnished with everything you will need: dishes, silverware, pots/pans, condiments, coffees, teas, cocoa, linens/towels & family style toiletries. The first floor has a kitchenette, bathroom, sitting area, dining area, fireplace & a queen sleeper sofa. An eclectic library of magazines, books and outdoor guide books are available for your relaxation.

Nestled on the second floor is a large bedroom/sitting area which runs the full length of the cabin. Your experience here will "redefine the art of sleep". A queen sized sleigh bed with top quality bedding, a bureau, antique armoire, a collection of classical & atmospheric CD's with player and a dish TV/DVD.

The large open front porch, with it's bent twig furniture, will remind you of a time long past inviting you to sit listening to birds chatter & watching the wildlife. Another large porch, with antique wicker furniture, is screened to keep you "element and bug free."

Amazing weekend getaway

November 27, 2013

We enjoyed our weekend so much. Views were amazing. I loved the loft bedroom and the stairs. The bed was so soft and comfy. Loved the rustic look. Could have used a microwave and I was a little nervous not to have a working smoke detector. Thank you for a great weekend.

Owner's reply:

Thank you, Laurie. We are very happy that you enjoyed your time on the farm & hope to see you again. I'm very surprised to hear about the smoke detector as it was just checked a few weeks ago. It is in the hall outside of the first floor bedroom & has a new battery. We will certainly check it. Loved having you here. Antonia

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Thank you for one of the best times I have had in a long time. The accommodations were phenomenal, the bed amazingly comfortable. Much appreciation for the care & love you have given this unique space. Dennis & Jessie

I am sad to say that I am departing this cabin after 3 weeks of bliss. The time to take cat naps in the afternoon, coffee on the porch with loved ones and replenish my mind, body and soul has been greatly appreciated! The Zama Ranch family

We had no idea what to expect. When we arrived and began to explore the cabin and surrounding land, we were thrilled! What a peaceful spot to truly relax and get away from the daily grind. The cabin was perfect - thank you for supplying it with anything/everything we could need while keeping its rustic charm - perfect! Ann and Peter

...I have to say that spending several days on your farm was the most serene time I have ever had in my life! It was absolutely gorgeous. The walk to the top of the farm was awesome. We have been telling all our friends about your place. We will be back. You might think about changing the name to 'Serenity Farm' as that word sums it all up. Jackie & Ed
