Description from owner

Beautiful views.

Easy access to deep water private dock,

Large smoke-free, pet-free home,

Pleasant residential neighborhood,

Ideal for families and sportsmen.

Please provide an evening contact number if you call and please do not call after after 9 PM.

I receive many phone messages I cannot understand. People have a tendency to say their telephone numbers really fast and/or drop their voices toward the end so that the numbers are not clear. Please speak slowly and clearly, especially when saying your phone number. I ALWAYS return calls and emails, even if the house is unavailable. If you don't hear from me, it is because your e-mail address or phone message was not usable. E-mailed inquiries will usually be responded to first.

We post the depth of the water at the end of our dock (13.5 ft at full pool of 330 ft) and our photos show the view and terrain from the house during normal lake levels. I always try to include a balcony post or something to give you perspective. When shopping for lakefront rentals, ALWAYS ASK about water depth, view and terrain because ads and photos are quite often deceiving and very few homes on this lake have the kind of depth we have.

Note: Clarks HIll Lake / Lake Thurmond (the name depends on if you are standing in GA or SC) is an Army Corps of Engineers (ACE) built and managed lake. MOST lakes in Georgia and SC are.

In such cases, ALL homes border ACE land that borders the lake. None are technically "lakefront", despite advertising. The difference is the width of the land between the home and the lake. It varies greatly around the lake, therefore some "lakefront" homes do not even have a view of the water. This home is in an older community and has a narrower strip of land between the homes and the water. The terrain is a gentle slope, therefore, easily walked. The combination of view, easy access and good water depth is rare among lake rentals.

Our basic rates are for six people. For more than six people there is a surcharge. The absolute limit is 10 people, not including infants. This site doesn't lend itself for breaking things down by days and by size of party. Single and two night stays are at a higher premium as they tie up the house for the best and most popular part of the whole week + the overhead of cleaning is the same as a longer stay. Shorter stays are NOT 1/7 or 2/7 of the weekly rate.

The house is not typically available for holidays. We've had some really bad experiences with holiday rentals. Masters Week = 8 nights @$1,800; Extra nights are $150 per night. There are no shorter stay rates for Masters.

Reviewed 8 Sep 2013

My family and I stayed at this wonderful lake home for three nights and four days!!! Very relaxing, secluded, accomadating, and spacious home. The pool was very nice on a hot day!! The dock was so secluded and had beautiful views. We are already planning our next trip back!! The owner was very friendly and helped us in many ways to make sure our stay was enjoyable!! Definately a place to check out if you are wanting a private lake getaway!!! Also kids can't stop talking about how much fun they had!! Very nice and clean place!!! Book a week or weekend now you want regret it!!!

“Very Nice”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2013

Comfortable and lots of room. Very clean. Nice view of the lake out the back. Lake was below the normal level but if it were up the location right on the lake would have been great. All the comforts of home. Owners were quick to respond to emails and have an excellent detailed rental lease. We would recommend this to anyone.

“Low lake level, but excellent fishing”

Reviewed 23 Nov 2012

We thuroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was everything we could have hoped for. Plenty of space to sleep, and large living room area for relaxing. The lake level was low, but we caught over 60 bass during the course of the week. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful stay right on the lake.

“Awesome Get Away”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2010

Our group had an awesome time of fellowship, this beautiful home set the right atmosphere to just have a great time. If I could go there often I would, but since I have other matters I will just say if you want a quite, peaceful get away. This home set right in the middle of quiteness. Highly recommend!

“secluded, nice house”

Reviewed 16 Apr 2008

Owner was extremely helpful and nice. House is well maintained with everything that you will need. The house is very secluded and is not at all convenient to groceries, etc but that is the way that we wanted it. overall, we had a very good experience and would rent from again.
