Area Information
Knight Island (the most northern island bordered to the north by Stump Pass), Don Pedro island (the "middle island), and Little Gasparilla island, the most southerly island, were originally three separate islands, divided by passes. When the pass between Knight Island and Don Pedro, and the pass between Don Pedro and Little Gasparilla Island closed (sometime in the 1960's) the islands became one, with more than seven miles of white pristine beach.

This Gulf Coast treasure is centered between Sarasota and Ft. Myers on Florida's west coast and boasts some of the most beautiful white sand beaches around. With seven miles of pristine beaches to traverse, visitors are provided with outstanding shelling and scenic nature walks. There is also plenty of room for the sunbather to stake a claim on some of the best beaches in Florida. There is also fantastic fishing in Placida Harbor and of course world famous Boca Grande Pass where the Tarpon reign supreme.

Little Gasparilla Island, accessible only by private boat has approximately 350 homes, mostly part-time residents. Development started around the turn of the century. Today, there are some exclusive home sites and two condominium communities with their own ferry service. There are no formal commercial establishments on this part of the island such as restaurants or grocery stores, however there is a small non-denominational church on the island that provides services from time to time on the island.

Little Gasparilla Island is the ideal secluded hideaway for those seeking a respite from the hectic pace of the mainland and the hassles of everyday life. Escape to Little Gasparilla Island where you can Stay a Week or a Lifetime!
