Description from manager

A traditionally built cottage with accommodation for up to four people, this property combines that classic cottage feel with stunning views of the local countryside.Originally part of a working farm, this cottage has been delightfully converted to offer accommodation for groups of up to four people. It retains many original features such as exposed beams, slate flooring and a wood-burning stove to relax in front of on chilly winter evenings. This atmospheric hideaway is served by stunning views of the Langdale Pikes and is close to a number of walks and cycle-trails. The living accommodation has been designed in an open-plan style and there is a well-equipped kitchen although, should you decide to have an evening out, the local pub is only a mile away.

Amenities: Electric heaters with woodburning stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with basic Satellite, DVD, radio/CD, small library of books. Fuel, power and starter for fire/stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available on request. Off-road parking for 2 cars. Rear patio with furniture. Sorry, no pets & no smoking. Shops and swimming pool 3 miles, pub 1 mile. Note: Property is situated on a working sheep farm. Note: Property is suitable for a maximum of 4 people including infants. Note: Owner runs a B&B next to property, which sleeps up to 4 people. Contact owner directly for details.

Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Town: Little Langdale is a hamlet of a few scattered stone houses and a pub in the valley of the same name. The Three Shires Inn gets its name from the location two miles away where the boundaries of the old counties of Cumberland, Westmorland, and Lancashire met. At the head of the valley is Blea Tarn. Offering stunning views of the Langdale Pikes, Blea Tarn is a small lake in one of the most picturesque parts of the Lake District and contains brown perch, trout and pike. Stone built Blea Tarn House, built in the 1600s, sits nearby. Other attractions in the area include the remains of a Viking settlement, where the Viking open-air parliament was held and new laws proclaimed. Nearby, Green Burn Mine is widely regarded as the best preserved copper mine in the Lake District. There is a beautiful walk to these remote remains, offering unsurpassed views of the region.
