“Great get away”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2015

We rented this cabin for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was clean and well maintained and very comfortable. The driveway is long and rather steep and bumpy but our suv handled it fine.

Owner's reply: Thank you, we love to have happy guests. I hope you can will choose us again in the future.

“Wandering Star”

Beautiful, secluded cabin with all the amenities necessary for a great time. The hot tub was awesome and the view spectacular! The cabin was well furnished and the beds were comfortable. My only disappointment was a lack of satellite TV. The week we visited, the main road to the cabin was closed but, we found our way around the construction. Would love to stay here again in the future.

“perfectly relaxing”

We had a great weekend at black bear cabin. If you're looking to get away from it all this is the place to go. Whether you're inside by the relaxing fireplace or outside in the jacuzzi looking up at the amazing starlit sky. We definately reccomend this peaceful place.

“Beautiful, quiet and secluded, but......”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2012

The cabin itself was beautiful! It was completely secluded, nothing but animals and land all around. Now the bad things: the bed was awful!! It was like sleeping on the floor; the washing machine would never finish a cycle, stopping after a few minutes, leaving the laundry soaking wet never to get clean; the smell of the sulfur in the water was almost unbearable!!! Only took 1 shower while I was there because I felt like I was bathing in poop; I know the cabin didn't have cable before we came, but it would have been nice after a long day to come home and watch a little TV. The Dvd player wouldn't even work. If you can get past those things, it was an ok place to stay.

“Getaway weekend”

The cabin was absolutely fabulous! It was close to town yet completely secluded. The amenities that were also there was a plus. We didn't have to run into town for trivial items because they weren't available. This is definitely a cabin we would come back to.

“relaxing getaway”

We enjoyed the beautiful cabin and landscape. The cabin was very clean & well stocked with cooking equipment. We were dissapoineted that the grill had a gas leak and we weren't able to use it. Also, the smell of the sulphur in the water was nearly unbearable. Thankfully, we brought water with us. No one was willing to brave the whirlpool bath tub because we figured the fumes would be too much. Our favorite things were viewing the stars from the hot tub and reading in the hammock. If you can get past the smell of the water and the very steep, gravel driveway; you'll really enjoy yourself.
