You will find everything that the Caribbean has to offer in this all around family destination - and with it is a people whose warmth is equaled only by the sunshine that graces its shores. The capital of the island lies within this region. San Juan is the center of commerce and is also the main port of entry. This is the most populous and economically diverse region in the island. Catch the ferry from Fajardo to the outlying islands of Vieques and Culebra, both known for their secluded beaches, snorkeling spots and spectacular views. A must see is the phosphorescent Mosquito Bay. This rare and remarkable phenomenon is caused by millions of luminescent dinoflagellates lighthing up when disturbed by movement. The region is also famous for its fresh local seafood and romantic sunsets.

Top spots: El Yunque, Luquillo Beach, Natural Reserve of Mosquito in Vieques, Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve and El Faro in Fajardo.

In addition, the island features many diving spots, hiking, natural attractions, historical sites, golf and tennis and casual and fine dining. Consult one of the guide books provided in your unit to plan your excursions.

This place had it all. Great location, water fun of all kinds, easy to get around. The condo was commodious and very well stocked with all the necessities. The best part was the owner, William Martinez, who met us at the airport, and did all he could to make it a great vacation!

Great Family Vacation

November 25, 2009

Just returned from our yearly family vacation. There was 8 of us total and there was plenty of room for all of us. The condo was beautiful, very clean, and very nicely decorated. The condo property was very nice and the pool area was very quiet. The pictures on the website are exactly what you see when you arrive. Juan Carlos was awesome and very helpful during our stay. There are so many things to do within a short driving distance. We will defiantly go back for another vacation and stay at the same property.

Just returned from a New Years holiday week at Aqautika Unit 5303. Wow! What a relaxing, clean, well-kept place to escape from winter. There were five of us total and the space was plenty big. Three separate seating areas if you count the outdoor rooftop patio. Some of the best naps I ever had were on the rope hammock on this patio. The cool comfortable night breezes through the unit are just fantastic. We rarely ran the air conditioning. The grounds are expansive and well kept, with plenty of space for anyone, kid or adult. I have spent more money on a tenth of the space in San Juan. And here everything is brand new! Would definitely go back. Email if any questions. Robert, Madison, WI

It is really a great place for your vacation. We went there in Feb 2008. The resort has excellent amenities for families or couples. It is close to San Juan and in the same time it is a very quiet area. The beach is not crowded. We went with some friends and we all decided that we would like to go back again. The penhouse is a very nice place to stay and it cannot compare with a regular 3 Bdr apt. I recommend this property because it has much better value than a hotel reservation. Tanya, New York

Aquatika is an amazing place to vacation. The pools are not crowded, there are adequate lounges and so much to do for children. There are many pools and at times, some of them were not used. The landscaping is lush with continuous care. The condominium is beautiful with very comfortable furniture. We enjoyed the living and family rooms with large screen televisions. The rooftop patio is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the warm evenings. Rent this property and you will enjoy every minute. A car is necessary. The property manager, JC, was kind, considerate and helped us with groceries and other local information. Kay, Canton, OH

We had a terrific time at Aquatika staying in Penthouse 5303. The property was so comfortable and nicely decorated. The owners definitely have a sense of all the amenities families need when vacationing. We were able to really relax whether it be in the lap of the hammock on the rooftop or in the multiple pools around the resort. We never lacked for something to do or beauty to behold. Some of the highlights for us were the Playa de Flamenco on the island of Culebra (not to be missed), Richie's Restaurant on the cliff overlooking Rio Mar Resort, and eating the most delicious chicken from El Verde on Rt. 3 just as you cross the light from 187 East. We have now entered back into reality in Chicago, but fully intend on returning to Aquatika for another trip to paradise! Brian, Michele and Kayla - Algonquin, IL

Hi Jeff, I just wanted to send a quick note to tell you what a nice time we had on our vacation trip to Puerto Rico. We have stayed in a few different condos before, but yours was one of the best. Aquatika was very fun for all of us, especially our three kids. Thanks for being so easy to work with. Everything you told us about your place turned out to be true. Your property manager was a nice guy and very helpful. We'd like to return again some time. Thanks, Charles and Maggie E. St. Louis, MO

Recently returned from our one-week stay in your lovely penthouse. We had a great time and found the accommodations to be very nice. The unit has everything we could imagine. We especially enjoyed the use of your private patio area, and spent most of our evenings relaxing out there. The Aquatika Resort is simply amazing. We went from beach to pool to pool! We look forward to returning next year and will definitely check to see if your condo is available. Your property manager, Juan Carlos, was extremely nice and helpful, so please send him our thanks!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is immediately around Aquatika?
A: The most recognizable area attraction, The Bahia Beach Resort, which has a professionally-designed golf course, and which features a five-star hotel, the St. Regis, and two restaurants, is located just down the road about a 5-minute drive from Aquatika. You can have lunch or dinner at Molasses Restaurant, one of our personal favorites, or Fern Restaurant, another highly-acclaimed dining spot.

A handy convenience store/pharmacy is located 5 minutes away from the condo and local favorite, El Sazon de Sylvia restaurant, is just across the street. Additional restaurants, casinos, and major retail areas, including grocery stores and a wonderful retail outlet mall, are all available within a 10-15 minute drive in either direction of the complex.
Q: What is unique or different about your unit at Aquatika?
A: Each unit at Aquatika offers a different experience to its guests based on service and amenities, so make sure you take all these things into consideration as you plan. Also, just another distinction that may prove useful to you: There is a block of units for rental in Aquatika which is managed by a real estate company on behalf of the actual owners. We only have one vacation home that we personally manage and rent to others. You might find a difference in the quality and attention to detail between an individually-managed unit and one managed as part of this larger group.

The many advantages of booking our unit include:

Penthouse unit - this is the largest unit size at Aquatika, occupying the top two floors of the building and providing expanded indoor living space on the main floor as well as the second story loft area.

Private terrace - a large portion of our beautifully-tiled terrace is covered allowing our guests to enjoy this space throughout the day, including under the intense afternoon sun. Relax in our hammock or make use of our convenient grill.

Air Conditioning - our unit is air conditioned throughout providing for greater comfort when trying to escape the heat of the day. A/C units are in all bedrooms, the main floor living area, and the second story loft area.

Complimentary WI-Fi - stay connected or plan your excursions by connecting to our free high-speed Wi-Fi internet service.

Top Notch Customer Service - our dedicated property manager will greet you at the airport when you arrive and guide you to the Aquatika complex. He'll even stop with you at the local grocery store and help you stock up on necessities for your stay. He will also be available throughout your stay for any problems you might encounter. Need a restaurant recommendation? He’ll help with that, too!

Professional Housekeepers - our cleaning professionals will ensure that you arrive to an extremely clean vacation home with fresh linens, bath and beach towels, and sanitized kitchen and bathrooms.

Full amenity kitchen - new appliances, including dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot and ice maker. Quality pots, pans, silverware, utensils and dishware are also provided.

Washer/Dryer - a full-size stackable washer/dryer unit is available for use during your stay.

Accessories - Use our pool floats, beach chairs, tennis rackets, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer ball and golf putters and enjoy all of the Aquatika complex's amenities.

Entertainment - Sink into one of our comfortable sofas while you surf the cable TV or music stations. Two large flat screen televisions, each with DVD player, are furnished in the unit. Log-in to your own Netflix or other streaming services on our web-enabled Smart TVs. Connect your smartphone to our Bluetooth-enabled stereo and enjoy all of your own favorite tunes or music streaming services.

Easy, Professional Booking - through our online booking partners. Review and approve your rental agreement and then follow a link to make your secure payment online. All major credit cards and e-check (EFT) payments are accepted.
Q: Is there a BBQ grill on the terrace?
A: Yes, we do have a grill on our private patio terrace. The grill on the patio terrace is a large surface size electric grill, which heats up fast, cooks at a controlled temperature, and cleans up quickly and easily.
Q: Do I need to rent a car?
A: We highly recommend renting a car. Puerto Rico is a bit underserved when it comes to public transit, and unless you are in one of the main tourist zones, taxis are a little hard to come by. The location of the condo is great to get out and explore the island, and we think you'll enjoy the convenience and flexibility that a car will provide for venturing out to restaurants, shops, and attractions.

Check with Alamo, National or Avis. They usually have competitive rates and they are easy to to work with at the airport.
Q: Is Aquatika a resort?
A: Although Aquatika features many of the amenities found at the nicest hotel resort properties, it is not a resort. It is a condominium complex and some of the amenities it offers, like the water slide, are operational only at certain times. That said, you can always enjoy the pools, beach, basketball, tennis, volleyball, soccer and mini-golf from sun up to sun down.
Q: What are the amenities I will find at this condo complex?
A: Aquatika offers guests a wide range of vacation pursuits. Walk out the complex gate to the beach and crashing waves and take it all in. The Aquatika complex fronts the Atlantic Ocean and allows for direct beach access. Loiza's beaches are beautiful, with comfortable sand and clear, warm waters. Grab one of the beach chairs and your towel and head here for a day of fun and sun. Inside the gates, the development features multiple pool areas, including warm and cool jacuzzis, basketball courts, mini-golf, tennis courts, volleyball court, soccer court, sunning and lounging areas, children's playgrounds, shaded seating areas and ample green space. If your stay includes a weekend, spend a day (or two!) at Aquatika's main pool area, which comes alive on Saturdays and Sundays. A full-sized water slide provides countless hours of fun for kids of all ages. Grab one of our inflatable floats and head further down the complex where a winding river pool awaits. Beachside gazebos and BBQ grills provide the perfect setting for an afternoon cookout, or make use of our electric grill on our large covered terrace for a more private experience. The grounds display lush tropical plantings, palm trees and flowers. The main clubhouse area provides guests with another pool and a covered terrace with outdoor seating and a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean.
Q: How will I get the keys to the condo?
A: Part of our personal service includes a guided escort from the airport (SJU) to Aquatika by our local representative, J.C. Sifre. En route from the airport to the condo complex, it will also be possible to stop at a local grocery store to stock up on some food, drinks or other necessities for your stay. Upon arrival at Aquatika, J.C. will provide a brief orientation to the complex and a walk-through of our unit. It is at that time that he will give you the keys to the condo. J.C. will also provide you with his contact info and should anything arise with the condo unit during your stay, he will be available to address any and all of your concerns. If you need a restaurant or excursion recommendation, he can help with that, too!
Q: Do you have internet access?
A: Our condo does have a free high-speed wi-fi connection. The router is located on the first floor of the unit and does provide a signal over all of the condo, including the second floor loft area. Our TV in the loft area is a web-enabled Smart TV and includes online streaming apps like Netflix. Our TV downstairs is outfitted with a Chromecast device which allows for streaming content from a mobile device, tablet or laptop computer directly to the TV. Guests may log in using their credentials from home and enjoy all of their favorite programming, in addition to a wide selection of familiar stations available on our cable television.
Q: Do I need a passport?
A: Leave your passport at home, on purpose! Avoid the hassles of customs and immigration lines by traveling to places like Puerto Rico, where no U.S. passport is required for travel between the United States and the Island.
Q: Do you have more resources or tools to help us with our vacation planning?
A: Yes! We have an official Welcome Guide, restaurant listings, maps, information about area attractions and driving directions. Additionally, we have a Hospitality Portal accessible to registered guests via the web and/or mobile app which provides 24/7 access to rental and local area information. Lastly, our most important resource is our local property manager, Juan Carlos (or J.C., for short). J.C. is a great resource for all things Puerto Rico and will eagerly help you plan, navigate, and otherwise answer your questions.
Q: Why choose this unit over the many others I see listed?
A: Great question. The answer is that we have been successfully renting our unit for the last 10 years and have welcomed over 200 satisfied families and groups of friends in that period. We have an upgraded penthouse, the largest unit type available at Aquatika. Our upgrades (things you won't find with every unit) include: air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout, screened windows, dishwasher, large front loading HE washer and dryer, and a beautifully tiled and partially covered private terrace (our best feature!) Beyond the physical attributes of our property is our personalized service, from booking through check out. We are individual owners, not a real estate agent or third-party management company. We take excellent care of our guests with a concierge-like approach to what we do. If you rent from us, you will not be disappointed.
