Description of the London vacation apartment rental
A lower ground floor apartment in a small quaint and quiet street. Freshly decorated and traditionally dressed in keeping with the Victorian red brick tenement block.

Shared entrance hall with the owner who lives in the adjoining flat at the back of the property. EXTREMELY quiet non-smoking mature male university lecturer.

We can consider any length of time up to 3 months from September 2009. Longer term rates can be negotiated.....

Area Information
This is the West End, just North of Oxford Street in a pivotal position between Oxford Circus, Warren Street and Goodge Street tubes. We have the best transport infrastructure in London.

EVERY tube line is within walking distance of about 8 minutes

National Rail Stations Euston, International Kings Cross & St Pancras are 15 minutes walk

Important Harley Street and the BBC Radio building are off nearby Regent Street. The BBC has many annexes in the area, as does University College Hospital, Westminster University, London Business School, University College London, London College of Fashion

Madonna's Marylebone and Sherlock Holmes Baker Street all border Regents Park. You can walk home from the Open Air Shakespeare Theater and London Zoo all located in Regents Park

Hyde Park is an alternative sophisticated stroll but you may prefer to go horseback riding or hire a bike!!!

Close by Charlotte Street is an extension of Soho's media film & TV world. A favourite location for road side dining it's lined with great restaurants at all price ranges.

Great Titchfield Street and Great Portland Street are rag trade areas convenient to Oxford Street full of clothing showrooms.

With the council installed bollards along the road side and the sandblasted house fronts, Hanson Street's face-lift of recent years makes it unrecognizable from the plain street it once was.

Tons of modernization mean properties in the area have become lucrative, and this quiet pocket of London has joined London's sky high rental ranks...

Two blocks from one of London's skyline landmarks The BT Tower - it will always be there to guide you home....

We stayed here with our six-month-old baby and could not have been happier. The flat is spacious and very bright, and decorated with a tasteful yet funky sensibility. Also surprisingly quiet, given the central location. There is lots of natural light, and even though the flat is on the lower level it doesn't feel that way as the ceilings are high. The kitchen has everything you would need, and the washroom is large and very comfortable, with a washer/dryer on site. As the proprietor mentions on this site, the flat is close to all the tube lines and is within a short walk of many of London's top attractions. We also loved the selection of books on the shelves, the DVD movies and the charming touches (sheep decals on the bedroom wall; the "cheer up, honey pie" sign above the fireplace). The owner, Su, is very warm and a great resource for neighbourhood info. Highly recommended!

It was indeed an extremely pleasant experience to spend a week in the flat during my visit and I am glad I found the place. I was amazed by the charm and cozyness of the flat, whilst I cannot find the same elsewhere. The proximity to Oxford Street is closer than I expected. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the flat especially when I was cooking - impressed by the set of Le Creuset in the kitchen and I adore the retro hot-plate cooker oven. Couldn't be happier if I didn't spend my time there.

My two sons ages 20 and 23 did a six week backpacking trip of Europe this winter. It was their first time overseas, and as their father naturally I was silently nervous for their safety even though they are fine, strapping strong young men. We somehow found Su and she was AWESOME! She answered all our questions promptly, and was very helpful. The boys reported the flat was great. Perfect location, compact but very comfortable. Most importantly Su took the time to make them feel welcome and important. Staying at Su's flat was the PERFECT way to start a 6 week trip because it gave them time to adjust to the culture change in a safe and warm environment with a semi-surrogate "mom" to watch out for them, and gave them time to "tough up" for 5 weeks of noisy stinky not-so-cheap hostels that were to be the remainder of their adventure. Thanks, Su! We'll be back!

You'll feel like a native in this comfortable flat which couldn't be closer to shops, restaurants, nightlife, the tube or parks. This flat is immaculate with plenty of linens and towels. Perhaps not the first choice for honeymooners looking for luxury but for our family (three adults plus an infant) we couldn't haven chosen better. Su is an excellent landlady and even provided plenty of incidentals (washing up liquid, cling film, umbrellas, etc.) I would stay here anytime!

We had a great first visit to London. It was so nice to have this flat to come back to at the end of a day of exploring. The flat is in a nice quiet neighborhood with the tube close by, restaurants and the grocery store. It had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Su was very helpful with our endless questions by phone or e-mail. We would stay here again.

Our experience with our stay was only amplified by the flat. My wife and I have stayed in the Millenium Mayfair, Millenium Baileys and other hotels around London... they do not even come close to this flat. Extraordinary condition, size, and a top notch location. Amenities were all new. Supermarkets, shopping, restaurants, and tube stations all within a 5 minute walk. Quiet location that was perfectly suited for my family and I. The owner/landlord could not have been more helpful. She made us feel right at home. Whether you are alone or with someone, this flat will feel like your home away from home.

Perfect Flat!

We (two couples) let the flat in August 07 and found it perfect in terms of both location and size. The location could not be better. Quiet side street, with as little noise as is possible in central London, but within easy reach of multiple tubes and walkable to the British Library, British Museum, Soho, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Regent's Park, Camden market, and many many other places on the less-touristy itinerary. Flat felt very safe and secure as well, with friendly, quiet neighbours all around. The flat is four rooms all in a row (bedroom, living, kitchen, bath) and was certainly cozy with four, but entirely do-able and well set-up for both sleeping and eating-in. High-speed internet was lovely and the kitchen is small but completely workable. Bathroom is large by comparison and includes a washer for clothes. Plus there's a little outdoor patio that is great for hanging out clothes and provides a good deal of light into the apartment as well. Su was wonderful--meeting us early one morning to let us in and very concerned that the flat matched our particular needs--she had made sure that we had enough sheets/towels for the four of us and also tidied up the extra toilet in anticipation of four staying in the flat, which was extremely thoughtful. We were a bit nervous making the deal sight unseen and over the internet, but Su put us immediately at ease, made sure we were settled and then left us to our own devices. The apartment was exactly what we needed. We highly recommend the flat and Su--we had a great experience.

Convenient and Charming!

We came to London on a business trip and extended it into a vacation when we found this flat available. The flat is in a truly convenient location that is close to shopping, restaurants, the park (Regent Park), and if you can't walk to where you need to go, there are 3 tube stations less than 5 minutes away. The flat itself was really cute, with a mix of modern and classic furnishings that made it quite charming and livable. The bathroom and kitchen were basic, and more importantly, clean and the bedroom was cozy, although as a fair warning, it does face the street which is generally quiet, but does have some light foot and motor traffic. we were only in London for a week, but one could easily enjoy more time here. Another good feature was the friendly and accomodating owner. Some times you will find an impersonal management company or absent/careless landlord in these short term rentals, but the owner of this flat did everything she could to make sure we were comfortable. She stayed late to let us in the first night, gave us tips on shopping and restaurants, and when scent of the fresh paint became a little overwhelming she even offered to move us to her other luxury flat in Soho at no extra charge! Whether you are headed to London on business or pleasure, and want a cozy place to call home for your time there, you would do well to book here.
