Description from owner

Our spacious and comfortable apartment is in Kensington, close to shops and restaurants. As it is on the 5th floor (with a lift) the whole flat has a light and airy feel, and is in excellent decorative order throughout. The spacious and nicely furnished living room covers one end of the flat with windows at both ends overlooking trees, the tennis courts and cricket field. There is a rectangular dining table and seating for eight at one end of the room. There is a digital flat screen TV, a DVD player and a CD player. There is broadband internet connection (no computer supplied)

Next door is the thoroughly modern kitchen with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a small breakfast table with three stools.

In the master bedroom the twin beds are made up as a king double (they are not zip/link). Dressing table and built-in wardrobes. The small 2nd bedroom has trundle beds (i.e. the 2nd bed sits below the main one), but can be pulled out so the bedroom can sleep two. Built in wardrobes and a desk.

The modern, tiled bathroom is off the hallway, and has a power shower into the bath, plus the basin and toilet. Next door is a separate cloakroom with basin and toilet.

About the area

Ilchester Place is wonderfully situated between Holland Park and High Street Kensington. As well as the excellent shopping and a wide selection of restaurants on and around the High Street, our apartment has the added advantage of overlooking Holland Park Gardens, considered to be one of London's most beautiful and romantic parks, an oasis of green with specimen trees and lovely shrubs. There is also a cricket field and tennis courts. Holland Park has a reputation as an affluent and fashionable area, known for attractive terraces of large Victorian townhouses of which Richard Branson owns one! A Waitrose supermarket is just three minutes walk from the flat, and a "Whole Food" organic store, covering six floors, apparently the largest in the world, is just 7 minutes walk away. Holland Park and Holland Park Theatre are right on the door step. Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are a good walk up Kensington High Street. Knightsbridge, Harrods, Harvey Nicholls, Royal Albert Hall are only a short bus ride away. The Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria & Albert Museums, Brompton Oratory - are also only a bus ride away.

“Great location”

This flat was in a great location and was very comfortable. The park was next door and made it a pleasant setting. Plenty of room and wifi worked great. Shopping and restaurants were close.

If you are looking for a place that has convenience to EVERYTHING and charm then this is it. Right in the heart of Kensington. Holland Park on the door step. Buses to Buckingham Palace, Tube station down the street, restaurants, groceries a stones throw away. Comfortable, quiet, well maintained flat. Will certainly use again!!

Had a great stay with my two daughters. Apartment was clean and comfortable and as portrayed by photos. We were met on arrival. The outlook over the park, and especially with the snow was lovely. But the best was the location. Just around the corner to High Street, easy access to bus and tube, local supermarkets and lovely walks. Many great restuarants to pop into on the way home from long days of sightseeing. Could only highly recommend this property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The flat is very spacious and centrally located with supermarkets and transportation nearby. It's Holland Park location is a quiet, residential area within easy reach of all the sights. The view enticed us and did not disappoint. The large bath tub was a daily treat after a long day of sightseeing - heated towel rack and all. While the decor is Asian and well appointed, some minor items do need updating. We were very grateful for the care given us as needed during our stay. It was a most memorable holiday and we would certainly choose to rent this flat again and would recommend it to anyone as a comfortable and charming apartment in London.

Had a wonderful Olympic experience in an excellent location! The apartment had everything we needed and the outlook over Holland Park was beautiful. Short walk to High Street Kensington station, to Hyde Park and Kensington Park, as well as Notting Hill Gate and Portobello Road. Sue was really helpful for anything we needed in the lead up to our holiday and I would certainly stay there again. Thanks so much!

Our London holiday was a great success, in large part because we were able to stay in this lovely apartment. The photos are accurate, and the flat was a quiet and comfortable home away from home. Sue is one of the most caring, kind, and responsive people we have encountered. The flat is perfectly located in a convenient and safe neighborhood, within easy walking distance of stores and transportation. It is well equipped with everything needed for an extended stay. The flat was exceptionally clean upon arrival. Walking through Holland Park was really a treat. We hope to return in the near future, and would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed about 12 days in this lovely apartment in London. We found it to be beautifully furnished and roomy. It had huge windows in every room which looked out onto park spaces. The apartment was spotlessly cleaned when we got there. The kitchen is large with all the appliances you could need. We loved the fact that you could grab a quick bus (they came about every 2 minutes) to ride to Kensington High tube or you could walk there in 15 minutes. There are numerous neighborhood stores, big grocery stores and ethnic restaurants so it is easy to eat well! And finally the managers are so delightful to work with. They are gracious and helpful. I would strongly recommend this property.
