Description of the Los Barriles vacation villa rental
If you're looking for a beautiful villa in a five-star location, if you want a secluded getaway where you can wake to a glorious sunrise, relax on a beach that's virtually your own and count shooting stars at the end of another perfect day, we have just the spot.

Casa Alvarado is nestled in a cove on the Sea of Cortez in the small resort community of Punta Pescadero, a 30-minute drive from Los Barriles.

The main house sleeps up to 12 people in four spacious bedrooms: two on the entry level and two down below with private entrances. On each level, one bedroom has a king bed and bath; the other has two double beds and bath.

Casa Alvarado also has two stand-alone casitas. Each one has a bath and four double beds, two on the entry level and two in the loft. This added accommodation makes our property ideal for reunions, corporate retreats or special family occasions.

From the main house, walk out to the patio for our million dollar view. Descend 20 steps to reach the pool, chaise lounges and outdoor eating area. Descend 30 more and your toes are in the sand.

You'll find everything you need in our well-appointed kitchen which has a large island with bar stool seating. And the indoor communal area feels even bigger thanks to our year-round outdoor living space. Being on the cove means that Casa Alvarado is protected from the north winds. So even in winter, it's warm enough to sunbathe by the pool, read a book on the patio, swim in the ocean or enjoy margaritas at sunset.

Other activities include: ping-pong, snorkeling, shelling, scuba, paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing. A three-minute walk to Punta Pescadero Paradise Hotel adds horseshoes, tennis, basketball, a bar with wide-screen TV and restaurant meals.

Finally, to make your vacation even more enjoyable, we provide free daily housekeeping and property management. We will also help you arrange transportation, fishing excursions, day trips, cooking classes, catering, shopping, an authentic Mexican fiesta or ATV and scuba gear rental.

Find out more about Casa Alvarado! We're excited to share our home with you and we're committed to making your vacation a happy one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you need a car?
A: Our friend, Octavio, will pick you up at the airport and deliver you to Casa Alvarado. The approximate cost is $120 US, one way, for up to four passengers. Each additional passenger adds $10 US and you can comfortably seat 10 passengers in the van. We find that once we’re settled, the only things that tempt us away from Casa Alvarado are the restaurants in nearby El Cardonal or the occasional shopping trip to Los Barriles. Octavio’s transport service can drive you to both places so there’s no need to rent a car, though many of our guests enjoy the freedom of having their own transportation.
Q: Can we hire a cook?
A: Our housekeeper, Griselda, will deliver delicious meals to your group, hot and ready to eat. She normally charges about $18 per adult and $12 per child. There will be leftovers for days. While the menu varies, it typically includes choices like: tamales, enchiladas, chile rellenos, fish, empanadas, beans, rice, guacamole, salsa, tortillas and tortilla chips. Feel free to request your favorite dishes. If you have something special to celebrate, Griselda and her husband, Jose Maria, can help you plan a real Mexican fiesta, complete with a mariachi band and a pinata for the children.
Q: What's so special about Casa Alvarado?
A: To us, vacationing in Punta Pescadero means leaving our hectic lives behind and taking time to appreciate the simple pleasures -- seeing rays leap from the ocean in the morning light; enjoying an ice-cold Pacifico beer and homemade tortilla chips at the bar of Punta Pescadero Paradise Hotel; kayaking or snorkeling in the clear, calm water of the cove; taking the family to taco nights in nearby El Cardonal; and watching the full moon rise out of the ocean. It also means spending time with the people who matter most in our lives. Casa Alvarado has so much sleeping space, we hope we can accommodate the people who matter most in yours, whether they be family, fishing buddies or old friends.
