About the area

The community of Cabrillo Estates is one of the only 3-4 hillside communities that is right at the edge of the pacific ocean in the central coast half way between LA and San Francisco. It has spectacular ocean and coastal views and is right around the corner from one of California's best kept secrets, Montana De Oro. We consider it our own 8000 acre back yard which has pristine beaches, miles of coastal bluff and mountain trails, tide pools and beautiful seasonal wild flowers. After being here for 6 years I am still amazed when I drive through the community and think to myself, is there anything more beautiful than this? The location is very close to downtown Morro Bay and a short drive to San Luis Obispo, Pismo & Avila Beach to the south and Cayucos and Cambria to the North. It is also a short drive to over 250 wineries and all kinds of interesting events occurring all year throughout San Luis Obispo County.

“Multi family heaven”

Reviewed 25 Feb 2017

We came Presidents' Day weekend and there were multiple families with babies and an 8 year old. We chose this home because of the many amenities and availability of "gear" for little babies. There are multiple well appointed rooms and tons of space for kids to roam. We grilled on the amazing BBQ and cooked in most meals. It was great that laundry and detergent was available. There was plenty of parking for our five families. Location was superb and the daily view was breathtaking. Unfortunately it rained (deluge) and there were momentary power outages on the day of checkout throughout all of the area but the power came back on after a few minutes and we were able to cook breakfast. There were tons of towels, great board games, pool and ping pong, and just a safe place for kids to play. There were also well stocked kitchen items and plenty of cutlery. If I had a recommendation it would be to bring a wok if needed and careful with the coffee maker as the carafe has to be on just right to make sure it would not leak - no auto off once the liquid comes out. Denise the owner is extremely gracious and went above and beyond what I have experienced from renting from prior homes. Check in and out procedure was simple. I can't say enough great things and I hope we can come back again!!!

“Real World Pismo”

This house was everything it stated in the site. It was very accommodating to all of our needs. We were centrally located by restaurants, ATV'S , and so much more. This was the right home to bring in my husbands birthday with a small group of friends and family. Owner Denise was on top of everything and made sure we were all set before and during our stay. This will be our second home when visiting Morro Bay!! T Barrett

Owner's reply: Talanda, It was great having you and your group. I hope I can help you again in the future. Thank you for taking great care of the house and it was a pleasure helping you with your stay. I look forward to your return! Denise

Owner's reply: It was great having you stay at our vacation home. I am glad that you and your friends found the house a great fit and enjoyed your stay. I hope to have you and your group back in the future. Thank you, Denise

Perfect house for a BIG group!

Finding a house for 4 families for our annual family reunion is no small task. So, I was thrilled to find this beautiful home at a reasonable rate. The view is gorgeous and the home is comfortable and well maintained. There were more than enough beds for the 15 of us and we all enjoyed our stay very much.

Enormous home with spectacular view!

My family and I stayed at Villa Cabrillo for a week in September 2014. The house was enormous and had every amenity you could imagine. The view was spectacular! Denise, the property owner/manager, was extremely helpful and had lots of suggestions of things to do while we were there. If you are in the mood for the best hamburgers and milkshakes you have ever tasted, you should go to Sylvester's in Los Osos. Amazing! There are many beaches and parks nearby, so lots to choose from. I would certainly recommend this home to my friends, and hopefully we will be back again in the future. Thanks, Denise for sharing your home with us.

Perfect Reunion Home

Combine the accommodations with the location, and you have the best arrangements for a family reunion site. Coastal weather is always a breath of fresh air when you come from the desert in the summer. And a house that can accommodate 3 generations with ease is a great find! Everything we needed - plus more than we could use - was provided. It was like our home for a week. Would recommend this home, and the company, to anyone looking for a vacation home. Excellent property and service.

This home was a wonderful spot for our 10-person family get together (kids, parents, grandparents). Inside it's spacious, comfortable, and clean. The kitchen was well stocked with all sorts of cooking utensils, dinnerware, appliances, etc., so cooking was convenient and easy. Fun to have a pool table and nice backyard to toss a frisbee and football. The location is close to Montana de Oro State Park, where we walked along the beach and hit the tidepools. The owner provided a full list of ideas on things to do in the area, yet we so enjoyed just hanging out in the backyard and living spaces -- guess that means we'll have to return to check out more of what Los Osos and beyond has to offer.

We stayed at the Villa Cabrillo house with a group of 14 people for a friend's wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The house is gorgeous and the view is unbeatable. It was very comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone. It was also a quick 5 minute car ride into town. We had a blast! I highly recommend this house to anyone staying in the Los Osos area.

We rented the Villa Cabrillo home on 5/9/14. We were there for four days. There were 17 of us ranging in age from 18 months to 85 years old. What a fabulous time we all had. The house is exactly what you see in the pictures & very well equipped. Denise the owner is wonderful & very helpful if you have any questions or need anything. We will definitely rent from her again and would recommend her properties to all of our family and friends. Lovely property with beautiful views!

We had a great week at this terrific house. There's so much to do in the area (hiking in Montana de Oro, kayaking & stand up paddle boarding in Morro Bay, wine tasting in SLO and Paso), but it was always nice to come back to this home to relax for a while. The house has plenty of room for a large group or just a family to spread out and enjoy the surroundings. Denise wasn't kidding about the deer, they were in the front yard when we arrived and made appearances almost every day of our stay. The home was very clean, well-stocked and everything was in excellent working order. The views of the ocean, bay and "rock" were spectacular, and the neighborhood was very peaceful and quiet. Thanks Denise!

We had 9 adults and 4 young children for a family reunion and there was plenty of room in the house. The house is spacious with wonderful views of Morro Bay. The kitchen is huge and has everything you need. The backyard was the perfect size for the kids to run around in. The house is located right "next door" to the Montana De Oro state park which is beautiful. There are a ton of things to do in the park and you have no travel time to get there! Denise was great to work with and she will help you out with all your questions about the area

We had a fabulous time at this beautiful home. We always find ourselves in the kithchen when we get together. The kithcen was huge and accomodated us very well. We were cooking breakfast lunch and dinner for ages 4 to 74. The backyard provided us splendid views of Morro Rock. Everyone enjoyed the deers cruising through the yard on occasion. A truly wonderful experience. The proximity to Montana de Oro State park was perfect. In less then 5 minutes you could be walking and along the bluff trail and taking in the remarkable views of the Pacific Ocean. We will definitely be back. Great job Denise!!!
