great site, pretentious owner
August 7, 2014
this site is wonderful for families--lots of space and activities. the owners obviously take great pride in the look of their site, yet when issues arise, especially those involving young kids, watch out! we've had several interactions in the past few summers at gilmore where the owners have been amazingly presumptuous, aggressive, and angry right off the bat. "we have a problem" instead of "can you tell me about...?" or "i would like to talk to you about..." in all cases, a simple conversation or question would have been a great opener, but tom gilmore came in with guns blazing. a few lessons in customer relations would serve him well. he has too nice of a place to run it with such pretentious attitude!
great cottage on a lake!

the Glimores are great hosts, and made us feel very welcome. There were several other famiilies, some with kids, and that was great for our 8 year old grandson who was with us...the beach is very nice - sandy and gradual, - there is a nice float to swim to, and the cottage was very comfortable. only thing I could have wanted was ping pong (in addition to the pool table), and a gas grille, instead of the small grilles that needed charcoal and twigs to start the fire! The screen porch was wonderful, and we had a relaxing time reading and playing games there.
It's just the right size - not too many other people, but not just us all alone. Tom's priorities for the camp are all in their proper places (e.g., no TVs, improved dock, kitchen renovations). The area is wonderful. It's just a great camp run by wonderful people in a beautiful location.
Kezar Lake is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places on earth and Gilmore Camps is among the most inviting. The gracious hosts make everyone feel at home. The peaceful setting, the incredible views, and the wonderful people make it difficult to imagine spending our summer vacation anywhere else.
