Description of the Lucaya vacation home rental
Lovely 2000 Sq.ft. private waterfront home on the canal and 5 minute walk to spectacular Taino Beach. Located on a quite cul-de-sac, our home is a quick 10 minute drive to Port Lucaya where you will find the shopping, restaurants, nightlife, golf, snorkeling and scuba rentals and the Casino.

This is a fully furnished and well equipped single family home that comfortably sleeps 6 with room for more. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and full kitchen, great for families, weekends or longer stays. The master bedroom opens up to the canal and features a full bath and walk-in closet with king size bed. The second bedroom sleeps 2 in a full-size bed and the third bedroom accommodates 1-2 guests on a full size sofa bed. In addition, there is a full size inflatable bed.

Outside you can relax on the back patio with a beautiful view of the canal or set your chairs up on the dock. And if it gets too warm you can take a quick swim in the canal or walk to the white sandy beach at Taino where a full array of water sport activities such as windsurfing, sailing, jet skiing await.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and extended stay rates upon request.

Diving and snorkeling in Grand Bahama is spectacular. It is famous for its "Blue Holes"and spectacular azure portals in the reefs. Grand Bahama has the second largest underwater cave system in the world. Unexsco Underwater Explorers at Port Lucaya can assist snorkelers and divers of all levels including reef dives, cave dives, wreck dives, dolphin dives, shark dives as well as Dolphin Swims, where you can swim and interact with the dolphins in a protected lagoon.

With four 18-hole championship golf courses designed by legendary architects you will enjoy ideal year-round golfing conditions. Lush well manicured tropical landscaping, practice ranges, putting greens, pro shops, and golf instructors are available to improve your game.

Boating and fishing activities are abundant in throughout Freeport. You can choose to be part of a glass-bottom boat excursion, a sunset Bahamas cruise, and a variety of options featured on the island. You can enjoy big game fishing as well as the world's best bone fishing. It's a sportsman's paradise.

Native flora and fauna can be found at the Rand Nature Center along with nature trails, a recreation of a Lucayan Village, and a natural Flamingo breeding area which is home to the West Indian Pink Flamingos, the national bird of the Bahamas. Lucayan National Park, is a 40-acre park with the world's largest underground systems of limestone caves and home to a burial ground of the now extinct Lucayan Indians.

A trip to Grand Bahama's East End takes you to parts of the Bahamas most tourists will never experience. Take a motorboat to the settlement of Sweeting's Cay, Grand Bahama, a quaint unspoiled fishing village, or Lightbourne's Cay, home to one of the most pristine beaches in the Bahamas.

Temperatures range from average highs of 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter months to the low 80s in the summer. Our sub-tropical weather means that temperatures seldom drop below 60 or rise above 90.

A casual and informal wardrobe is appropriate both day and night. If you want to dress up, you won't feel out of place in our casinos or finer restaurants and nightspots.

Transportation Rental cars are available at the airport and taxis can be found easily. There are also tour buses and public jitney buses. (And remember, everyone drives on the left.)

Currency is the Bahamian dollar which is on par with the U.S. dollar. Across the island, you'll find that U.S. currency is widely accepted.

Just a few things that I liked: Beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable home. Walking distance to the beach and local flavors and activities. Great location... I would absolutely stay in the home again!
