Description from owner

Beautiful Lucchese apartment with stunning views from the main terrace over the ancient rooftops of the Old Town, and beyond to the beautiful Lucca hills and Garfagnana mountains. Situated inside the ancient walls and next to Via Fillungo, the main pedestrian and shopping street in Lucca, the apartment is ideally located. Stroll down to the piazza's for a leisurely breakfast and soak up some of the culture and history of this unique city, before heading out to the scenic Lucca hills for an afternoon hike. For those more adventurous, the Garfagnana mountains beckon, an area of outstanding natural beauty and no more than 40 minutes drive away. During the summer, the beaches of Viareggio can be reached in approximately 30 minutes. Or simply chill out and spend the day strolling the historic walls and streets, or shopping in the Old Town, where you will find fantastic variety and value. In the evening, superb restaurants and bars can be found within 5-10 minutes walking distance, where the joys of Italian cuisine and wine await.

The 3rd floor apartment has been tastefully decorated, comes fully equipped for extended visits, including air-conditioning, central heating, wi-fi, all modern kitchen appliances and super comfy beds! Consisting of two floors, the upper level contains a master bedroom and bathroom, living area and the spacious main terrace. The lower level has three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and dining area and a balcony/utility room. Parking, taxi and public bus services are all within 150 metres of the property in Piazza Santa Maria. We have an extensive collection of DVD's and books to chill out with and pets are welcome.

We love our time in Lucca and hope you enjoy your stay as much in the beautiful and cultured city of Lucca!

“Charming apartment with great location!”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2016

My husband and I, along with another couple stayed in this charming apartment for three nights. Lucca and this apartment were a wonderful respite after a very small hotel room and the crowds of Rome! Jim sent us detailed info about the apartment ahead of time, and sent it again right before our trip. ( just in case!) He was very quick to get back to me to answer questions. The couple that let us in, our neighbors Cristiano and Maria, were charming, personable and very helpful. There are two levels which gave each couple some space and privacy. The kitchen was well supplied with nice dishes and cookware. There is a long table that is perfect for larger groups. I did not look at the upstairs bathroom but the one on the lower level was spacious, clean and bright with white tile. The bed in the larger room was also comfortable. There are two smaller bedrooms on that level as well. You need to walk through the one room (with single bed) to access the washer and small balcony for drying clothes. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the upstairs balcony with a nice view overlooking tiled roofs, the bell towers, and the mountains in the distance. You could even watch the pet rabbits hopping around in the neighbor's yard below! Along with another bedroom and bath there is a nice sized family room on the second floor as well. The location was perfect, a very short walk to rent bicycles and to the market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, as well as a quick walk to one of the main streets in town. The four of us all agreed this is a great place, definitely recommend it and would stay here again if we are ever fortunate enough to return to Lucca!

Owner's reply: Hi Pam, many thanks for your very kind message. We really do appreciate it! Looking forward to welcoming you all back to Lucca in the not too distant future. All the best for now. Jim
