Reviews for this vacation chalet rental in Ludlow, Vermont
All the comforts of home
October 10, 2012
The house was convieniently located with easy acces all the area ski resorts yet secluded enough to get away from the hussle and bustle. Everyting you could think of was furbished at the house from toiletries to firewood and matches. The only downfall was poor cell phone reception but even then there was a working landline. But I didn't go there to talk on the phone anyway so for my wife and I it was the perfect getaway....reasonably priced and dog friendly. I recomend it.

pleasant memories of Vermont

We had a lovely time. Of course the weather and the surroundings were beautiful and the location was perfect and easy to find (on the road between Weston and Andover). The house was very well equipped. They had everything we could possibly have needed. They even had a tea pot with cozy - which for a tea drinker (like me) is a necessity. We built a lovely fire in the evening with plenty of available wood. The den and the bed were both comfy. All in all, we had a great time. Would rent it again if we ever return to Vermont. Will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE!

The owner of this house was so awful, rude & unaccommodating. She stole our security deposit of $200. We stayed for a month & she charged us $100 for oil, which we never used as we were there in the summer time. The place was filthy, filled with dog hair, clumps of dust & full of mold & mildew. She had very strongly scented candles & oils in every room to try to cover up the mold smell, but they only made us sick. We all had runny noses & were sneezing for the entire month due to the mold and candles. Upstairs it was about 85 degrees in 1 room with no ac. She left 2 broken vacuum cleaners making it very difficult to clean. This place was way over priced for what it is. The only good thing about this house was her caretaker. He let us borrow his vacuum cleaner & we left the house cleaner than it was when we arrived. We have rented houses in Vermont for years and never experienced anything like this before. She swore at us & ranted & raved over the phone when we called her because the satellite tv was malfunctioning & she was going to charge us for using it whether we used it or not. She went ballistic! She also threatened to evict us when we called about the tv. It was totally insane! We are landlords & we know Tenants' rights. She did not even make a contract with us. She asked for a $200 security deposit & the balance of $1200 before we arrived. When we arrived she said we had to leave as we didn't give $1600 instead of the agreed upon $1400. We ended up pa

My partner and I stayed here for a quiet New Year's vacation. The house had everything we needed and the owner was helpful and made sure the place was ready for us. The area is just beautiful; we took day trips to all the charming VT towns and went snowshoeing nearby in Londonderry. I'll definitely come back.
most people that I rent to come back on a regular basis and call it their second home without the mortage, the house was updated and furnished with the hopes that I would be living there but circumstances changed that and I have to rent it out in the meantime
