Description of the Luray vacation guesthouse rental
It was built in 2008. Looks like one huge house, but it is actually a main house (occupied by the owners) and a Guest House. The Guest House is connected to the main house but totally private with its own entrance. The Guest House is the log home vacation rental and is quite unique. Comes included with Don and Bj Garner & three very friendly dogs.

The ramp leads you to the Guest House rental door, where above it is a green sign: A HAPPY PLACE. Indeed it is. There are several placards on the porch and each is an ode to a loved one(s).

There is a private screened-in porch for you with a table and chairs and a wooden porch swing. The huge open deck has a nice patio set that seats six. The door has a keypad lock; changed with each new renter. You are notified via email with the code and other details.

There is an open kitchen/living room floor plan. It is completely furnished. All wood interior. There is a beautiful stone gas fireplace that works at the push of a button and a 40 inch Flat Screen TV.

Feng shui alone makes you relaxed.

The bedroom has a queen size bed, one dresser, a 32 inch TV and a large closet. In the unique loft is a king size bed and two singles. All the beds are comfortable and everybody gets two pillows and an extra blanket.

The kitchen has modern appliances and a big island counter that seats two; a caf? table that seats two and a bar that seats three. Dishes, cookware, eating & cooking utensils are provided.

The bathroom boasts a 6 foot long whirl-pool tub (hold on when jets are used!) Towels, toilet paper, soap & shampoo are provided; if you need more, look in the closet. There is a safety bar at the tub & toilet for those who need them.

You have your own laundry room. Detergent is provided. There's a large rack to hang your clothes on.

If you like to cook out, there is a gas grill on the deck and also a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal).

~ Pets are welcome if you're sure they would get along with our three very friendly, sociable, well-trained dogs. Don and Bj are the property owners and are friendly, sociable & well-trained too.
~ We believe in the Golden Rule and expect that of others.
~ When you are within two days of the rental start date, it is too late to reserve the property online. Simply text or give me a call to set up the reservation.
~ Last but not least, we do not smoke, but if you do, please smoke outside.

Luray is the near the entrance to Skyline Drive.
The towns close proximity to the Shenandoah River provides recreational opportunities connected with boating, white water rafting, and fishing as well as hunting in the fall. Of course, the Caverns are the main attraction. Exploring it is an awe-inspiring-there-is-a-God experience.

Luray has a small-town-USA feel to it; the shops and restaurants along Main St. are cozy and quaint, the people friendly.

Favorite places for kids, besides the caverns: the Luray zoo, Lake Arrowhead, Imagination Station (part of RH Dean park in town), Yogi Bear Park, a bowling alley and feeding the ducks along the Greenway which is beside Hawksbill Creek. This is a very popular walking/jogging trail that intersects with Main Street. There are flyers on the kitchen counter for you with numerous other ideas.

There are several shops on Main Street all worth checking-out. In addition there are several places to eat from the upscale Mimslym Inn to good ole Hardees. We have the usual fast food places and several new restaurants.

Fantastic weekend

January 13, 2016

Six of us came to Garnerland to celebrate my birthday and it was everything we needed and more! About all those reviews that say you are greeted with freshly baked cookies and lovable fur babies.... it's all true! Don and BJ made our stay amazing. We spent our mornings relaxing on the awesome deck, easily drove out to beautiful Shenandoah, and grilled our hearts out in the evenings. It was raining our last day and we thoroughly enjoyed cozying up indoors in the very homey cabin. Thank you, Don and BJ - we can't wait to come back!!

My boyfriend and our two friends just recently stayed there this past weekend and we had such a great time! The cabin is beautiful and is great for a weekend getaway!

Gorgeous cabin and warm, loving hosts. This cabin is absolutely beautiful and so warm, cozy, and inviting. They had the fireplace on and cookies made for us when we arrived late on a Friday and were kind and helpful throughout our stay. This was a great property for a girls getaway weekend from the city with a group of friends. Great location too--need a car.

The cabin was gorgeous, and was stocked with everything you would need. We were greeted inside by candles glowing, homemade cookies, and iced tea. Don and BJ are great. Two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Conveniently located to Luray, the Caverns, Canoe/raft rental, Skyline Drive, zip lining, and so much more. The cabin provided us the perfect place to relax after our daily adventures. Our two dogs were comfortable and enjoyed the large property to roam.

We wanted a calm and relaxing vacation with our three year old and this was our perfect getaway. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. My kid had a great time with the owners pets. The house is indeed a happy place. It's serene and peaceful. The amenities provided, fit our need perfectly and the screened in porch enabled us to enjoy the outdoors without the bugs. Definitely recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay in Luray. Don and BJ were wonderful and welcoming hosts who were eager to please. The home was clean and spacious and had everything we could possibly need. The welcome cookies were a pleasant addition. I would definitely stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.
