“Most Relaxing Vacation Ever!”

Reviewed 9 Jan 2017

Condo was beautiful, clean, comfortable and more spacious than similar priced options. Our favorite amenities were the beach chairs/mats and the washer/dryer. The location of the resort is outstanding with a walking score of 10! We enjoyed frequent walks on the beach, explored the waterfront neighborhood behind the condo, enjoyed the shops and restaurants at John's Pass, and tried other great restaurants within walking distance. The condo provided a close, quiet, comfortable retreat after our numerous outdoor adventures. The owner, Kathy, was wonderful to work with when securing the reservation!

Owner's reply: Hollie I am thrilled that you enjoyed our condo. When I explain to guests how close everything is I think sometimes they don't believe that you don't need a car...except for groceries! WE become true "beach bums" when down there are walk everywhere. Hope to have you back again!

“Awesome trip!”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2016

We had an awesome stay at this condo. Top floor, great views. Lots of space. Crosswalk right outside the condo to get to the beach. Restaurants all nearby. Mad Beach Bar cooks your fresh catch!! It's right next door. Definitely ask for Captain Tom's phone # for a private charter! Will be back!

Owner's reply: We are heading to the beach next week and I can taste the fresh fish dinner right now. I hope we catch a boatload. So happy that you enjoyed your stay and I hope to have you back again real soon!

“Madiera Beach Getaway - Life is Good”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2016

My wife and teenage daughter spent 8 days at the Madiera Bay resort. We could not be more happier with the condo, the location, and the amenities that it offered. There is everything that you need to feel at home. Then you look at the view and you realize that it offers much more. There is shopping, restaurants, and entertainment, all within walking distance. This kept our teenager busy. We rented a boat at a reduced rate and spent the day on the intercoastal and several sandbars nearby. There are also nearby bicycle rentals, which was also fun. We have stayed and many places up and down the Gulf, from Siesta Key to Gulf Shores, AL., this is definitely a place that I would return to. An overall great vacation destination!

Owner's reply: I am thrilled because it sounds like you enjoy it as much as we do. I am in agreement with our view from the balcony. Its just the best both day and night! Cant wait to have you back again!

“25th Anniversary”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2016

The condo was everything as we were told. Short walk to beach. Pool on site. Short walk to Johns Pass. We had an awesome time. I would highly recommend staying. We met several nice people while here as well.

Owner's reply: I am so happy to hear that our condo met your expectations. I too love the close proximity to everything. Hope you make our home away from home your yearly anniversary destination!

“Great for all ages”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2016

I stayed in this unit during Memorial Day weekend with my boyfriend and we had a great time. We did rent a car when we got in and decided to return it the next day because you really don't need a car. We walked everywhere and the beach is right across the street. We did make a trip to the grocery store the first day and bought a small cooler to bring back and forth from the beach (left it in the bathroom closet for the next renters). Kathy was great to help us out with suggestions on places to eat, visit, etc. All around I give this place and location 5 stars. No complaints at all and hope to visit again soon!

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for taking the time to do a review. It is nice that you saved the money on the car rental. With the trolley that goes up and down the beach there is no need for the additional expense. Hope to have you back in the future! kind regards, Kathy

“Great Spring Break!”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2016

We stayed in this condo for Spring Break 2016 with our two oldest grandchildren, ages 12 & 13. The pool and hot tub were both wonderful. The pool was nice and warm! The condo is great. We had everything we needed right there, including a washer & dryer which was nice with the kids. Just walk across the street to the beach, which was nice as always. Just a block away from John's Pass so there was no fighting for a parking place. The condo is well taken care of, the staff were very nice, and the location is perfect! We would recommend this condo for all ages!

Owner's reply: Great to hear you enjoyed your stay with your Grandchildren. Its a great location for all ages. Happy Easter!

“Beautiful Property”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2016

I stayed at this resort but in a different condo. This owner's (Kathy) condo was already rented but she was very helpful in helping me find a comparable condo. The condo I stayed in was wonderful. Very clean, spacious and well decorated. The facility was conveniently located with easy access to the beach and a short walk to John's Pass. Kathy's local recommendations were great as well.

Owner's reply: Next time less winds and fishing day on the Gulf!

“Wonderful waterfront condo!”

Reviewed 22 Feb 2016

My husband and I stayed in this lovely condo in late January and it exceeded all expectations. The unit was very clean, attractive, and comfortable and had everything we needed for a multi-day getaway. Its location is perfect; the waterfront view from the deck is beautiful and we enjoyed the close walking distance to the beach and restaurants. It was quiet; despite the nearness to everything; and we treasure that peace and quiet.. Kathy, the owner was very helpful in pointing out restaurants and other places we may enjoy. We had a great visit!

Owner's reply: I am so happy that our condo met your expectations and that you had a nice time. We too like the fact that the complex is quiet yet there is activity if you like, just a block away. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. It is much appreciated.

Great place to stay!

This is our second year at this property. It is very modern and feels as close to home as you will get on a vacation at the beach. The kitchen makes cooking home cooked meals easy and convenient. The washer and dryer is located in the room so you can go home with no laundry. Everything is very clean throughout the entire building. The walk to the beach is quick and worth it for the quiet atmosphere you get when you return to the condo. We vacation with several families that we know so it is nice to come "home" to the condo away from everything and have our own time and space. The area is very safe for kids who are old enough to walk to and from John's Pass. I'm pretty protective and I feel fine letting them go back and forth. However, John's Pass is a fun place to be so I'm usually down there too. They have something for everyone. If your kids do need a walk to and from, it is close and not a hassle to walk them down and go pick up. We get groceries on the way in at WalMart or a grocery store and then you have everything else within walking distance once you get there.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful condo with my family! Myself, my husband, our daugher, son-in-law and 9 month old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the 4th of July holiday. While my daughter's family rented another unit, our condo was a very comfortable size for the two of us and also provided a small second bedroom perfect to accomodate a port-a-crib. I was slightly concerned about the craziness that the holiday would bring the area but we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and quietness that your condo provided when a good night's sleep was necessary for a baby after a long day swimming and boating! Kathy was extremely helpful and friendly in helping us with our reservations and tips for the area! The beach is never something you can get too much of and this was perfect allowing us to also dock our boat at the marina. Hope to visit again soon!

This accommodation is set up very nicely for enjoying your time in Madeira Beach. All you need to bring are your beach toys and you are ready to go. The fact that there is a site office is a plus, but the owners are very responsive to any needs as well. John's Pass has all the tourist attractions, but if you go a bit in the other direction, you also have the Conch and Salt Rock Grill as eating options. Thanks to the owners for sharing their bit of paradise!!

This was our 4th time in this unit at Maderia Bay Resort. We love it here because it is always very clean and the grounds are also kept very well. It is a very family friendly place to stay, with lots to do near by. There are lots of great places to eat, either within walking distance or just a short drive away. It has a beautiful pool area that is always clean and the pool is heated, which makes it quite enjoyable. If you are looking for a place to vacation with or without family, I would highly recommend this place.

What a great experience from the day we booked this condo until the day we checked out. The condo was just as described and met our needs perfectly. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the intracoastal water from the balcony where we even spotted a manatee one morning! Kathy was very helpful in describing the area and recommending things to do and see. We were traveling with two other families and she was gracious in finding accommodations for them in the same building as well. We loved the quiet mornings as we walked to John's Pass for a cup of coffee from Addicted to the Bean and a stroll along the boardwalk. We took the peaceful beach side walk back to the condo where we saw fishermen, joggers, and shell seekers. We spent our days on the beautiful, soft white sandy beach and our evenings back in lively John's Pass for dinner, ice cream, and shopping. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay to enjoy the condo and the area just a little bit longer. Thank you Kathy for your hospitality! We will definitely return and recommend to our friends and family.

We love staying at Madeira Beach Resort and Spa. This condo was perfect for our needs. Completely remodeled and updated, it is beautiful and is in a great location. We like the fact that we can park our car and not really have to get in it again if we choose not to. Close to John's Pass for shopping, eating, and the best view. We don't really mind having to cross the street to go to the beach, it is very easy access. Kathy was super easy to work with as we were doing a Sunday to Sunday stay rather than a Saturday to Saturday. Couldn't have asked for a better vacation place. We will definitely return.

Great alternative to the hotel scene!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Kathy, the owner, did a great job describing the place, the proximity to John's pass, and the things to do. The beach, though across the street from the condo, was actually a shorter walk than from the hotel we usually stay at which is on the beach side, because it was a direct walk from our condo to the cross street, which dumped us right on the beach. At the hotel, we had to walk down corridors, outside the front, around the protected area, and then finally down to the beach. When you're carrying chairs, toting a cooler, and balancing various rafts and tubes, it matters. The apartment was nicely appointed. Bring your own beach towels (of course). There were plenty of towels for bathing for my family of 4 for the Friday - Monday stay. We stayed with our two teenage daughters, and there was enough room for us to be together, or spread out as is sometimes necessary with older kids. The bathroom was accessible from the master bedroom or from right outside the other bedroom. The other guests we met there were all friendly. Part of what we were able to avoid by being here were the late night parties with younger revelers. Though there was a wedding going on there on property, there wasn't any noise to speak of after 9 pm. The condo itself was clean and tidy with all the amenities we could need. Bring a bag of ice if you want ice on your first day, as the cleaning people shut the ice maker down between guests. Also, the grocery stores just before the island were a little less expensive than the ones on the island. Worth the extra 10 minute drive. Buy floaties and rafts at Winn Dixie-they are cheaper than anywhere else. CVS next door stocks beach chairs. And there is a really good pizza restaurant in that same shopping plaza. If you rent a boat, avoid Jack's @ John's pass. The boats are poorly maintained and the owner is not nice. Strongly recommend a drive about 15 minutes away, either north or south, to get away from the hub of the tourist district. With a little looking, you'll find better boats for the same or less money. Loved the Bloody Mary bar at the restaurant right next to the condo. Reasonable prices and quality mixers. I do wish we could have brought our chihuahua. There were small dogs on property and we would have gladly paid a deposit to bring ours, if given the option. Might not be permitted of renters though. Overall, it was a great stay. We would love to come back again!

My Response
Jennifer : i am so happy that our condo met your expectations. I try and remember to let all guests know about the ice maker.....by law they have to empty and dissenfect the maker between each guest. That means leaving the bar up on the maker so the guest is assured of fresh ice. So sorry about that. There are infact several condos in the resort that allow pets. Unfortunately, we do not but should you decide to return I can get you another owners condo to stay in. :) Thank you for taking the time to write the review and include all of the helpful hints.

Amazing Family Getaway!

May 27, 2014

First off, I never leave reviews unless I am overly joyed (or overly pissed off haha) This was our first real family vacation with our 2 year old and it was perfect! The location of this condo could not be better, it is a 2 minute walk to a gorgeous beach (we did cocktails and hors d'oeuvres every night after nap) The condo staff so was so friendly and helpful, especially Alex! The pool was clean and the work out room was great too. The restaurant next door had awesome food and drinks! The condo was a great size and the view was gorgeous. We loved watching the heat lightening at night and during the day we spotted 6 different kinds of fish while sitting on the balcony! The only thing is there is not a balcony above you so we had lots of bird poop. small price to pay for the view. John's Pass is less then a 5 minute walk and is touristy but super fun and perfect for any age. Though i wish we could have stayed all night and listened to music at some of the awesome bars, we had a great time "before bed" and my daughter loved running up and down the boardwalk and seeing pelicans and dolphins. Found a new favorite fish too - grouper!! Lots of fun little stores and restaurants and so great that you don't have to get in the car! However Madeira beach is so close to many cool places! We took a bunch of small adventures, and none were longer than 40 minutes in the car! We saw St. Petes, Clearwater, Treasure Island, Pass A Grille, Honeymoon island and Dunedin. We were looking for a fun, kid friendly, easy vacation and that is what we got. We are already planning a trip back (maybe without our daughter!!) I am so excited to have discovered this area and we will definitely try to stay here again!! Thank you so much for everything!

Very often I hear guests say that they HAVE to be on the beach but being across the street from the beach affords you just as good of a view and its both day and night. I am so sorry about our feathered friends and the presents they left you. I was just at a homeowners meeting and it seems that this spring we took on a few new guests in the eaves. It is scheduled to be repaired and sealed mid June. Aside from that I am so happy that I qualified for a review :) I knew you and your family would just love the location and I am hoping it is the start of a family favorite destination.

We had a great time staying at Kathy's condo. This was a graduation trip for our 18 year old and his friends. The condo was in the perfect spot. Across the street from the beach and a short walk to John's Pass. We told Kathy that we wanted to take the boys fishing as a surprise and she recommended Tom (who owns West Wind Tackle). We had the best time with Tom. The boys said that fishing with Tom was the best way to start our vacation. We all had a wonderful time while in Madeira Beach. Can't wait to go back again.

Our stay at Maderia Beach was thoroughly enjoyable. The condo was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. At first Gloria was a little sad that apartment did no have ocean view but later was glad we had view of the bay so we could watch activity in the bay. Short walk to beach was just as you mentioned. She'll island will be another future stop. While we will not be able to make it back for a couple years we are getting our mind set on a return trip. So much to do around Madeira Beach area. The condo was in the perfect location--walking distance to John's Pass with all of their shops and restaurants, but far away enough to offer some beautifully quiet evenings on the deck, overlooking the intercoastal with a cocktail in hand. Madeira Beach is a great beach area--happening enough to people watch, but not overrun. We really enjoyed Waltz Fish Shack, and Kathy's right--Bamboo Beach Bar does have the best chicken fingers on the beach! We liked it so much, we're coming back in February!

Thinking about those chicken fingers has me hungry! Wish I was at the beach. I knew you would just love the location. Give me a call so we can set up February for you. Kind regards, Kathy Wilhelm

This was our 5th stay at this beautiful condo. We basically parked our car for 2 weeks and walked almost everywhere. There is lots of wonderful shops and excellent restaurants all on John's Pass. The beaches are fantastic for walking and swimming. You will not be disappointed with your stay here!!

It has a nice kitchen, two bedrooms. We are satisfied with that. However, what we liked most was a jacuzzi and outdoor pool. Weather wasn't so nice during our stay, but with a jacuzzi and outdoor pool, we had so much fun.
