“Comforts of Home”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2016

We stayed for a week, could have stayed another! Everything was provided for us from linens, to spices in the cabinet. The home is very nice, the grounds (as well as the home) are well maintained and offer privacy. Cathy did a great job of making us feel welcome. This is a wonderful place to stay with beautiful sunsets, morning lake time while listening to the loons sing, campfires and reflecting on the day. If you want to be outside of the tourist hustle, this is the place to be!

The house was so nice and well equipped! We had a super time swimming, using the 2 kayaks and paddle boat! The week flew by and we all enjoyed our stay. Wal Mart was just 3 miles away for things we needed. I would definitely stay at this home again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the nice review Kathleen. We are pleased to hear you had a wonderful time and we could accommodate your vacation needs.

“Loved the camp!”

My family and I really loved the rental camp! It had everything we needed and fit the description very well. I would certainly do it again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are happy to hear the camp met your needs and the family had a wonderful vacation there.

“More fun than I expected!”

Reviewed 19 May 2015

It probably sounds odd that I didn't expect to have as much fun as we did, but I rented this camp because it was a very convenient place for four adults to stay comfortably just minutes away from where my mom lives, and was preferable to any local motels. The camp was so well-appointed; everything we could think of was there and we had many meals overlooking the beautiful lake. We had no trouble accommodating 18 people for a big cook-out one day, and everyone had a blast with the paddle boat and two kayaks (and the large fire pit!). There was lots of firewood and we had a fire almost every night. The lake was very quiet and peaceful at that time of year, and we saw and heard the loons every day. My daughter and her boyfriend had to work while they were there, and they found the internet slowed down with both of them on it all day, but her boyfriend did not mind going into Skowhegan to the library and to the Bankery and using their wi-fi. I think the internet would be fine for normal family use. The camp was great for some of our party that have allergies, as there are no carpets. The camp was clean and comfortable. The only thing that would make it perfect would be a half bath on the third floor, but if you've ever tried to rent a place in Maine, you know to be thankful for two full baths. We would definitely be happy to stay there again.

Owner's reply: Glad to hear - thanks for your great review! Joe

“A place for making wonderful lasting memories”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2014

We had the most amazing 2 week stay in August, the first week with our friends and the second just me and my daughter. The camp is in a beautiful location, the house itself was clean and welcoming and had everything we needed, it was obvious that this is a well loved family camp. We spent half our time at the camp, swimming, kayaking, cooking, eating, using the fire pit and the BBQ, relaxing and enjoying the beauty and tranquillity of the lake. The rest of the time we explored far and near - Moosehead Lake, Fort Knox and return visits to Acadia and Belfast. Locally we enjoyed visits to the Skowhegan farmers market (the pizza is out of this world - my daughter still dreams about it!) and Lakewood Theatre and restaurant where the food is fabulous. If we ever make the long journey back from London UK to Maine we would definitely want to stay here, in the meantime we have a wealth of wonderful memories to draw on.

Owner's reply: Wow! Thank you Helen - so glad you enjoyed your visit here! Great memories for me too!

“Great Vacation”

My brother and our wives had a Great time at this property. Every detail in the description of this rental property EXCEEDED our expectations. There were no surprises. Place clean , beautiful location , plenty of room, laundry, linens ,dishwasher, great fishing, dock for our boat, kayaks and life jackets which our wives used every day when we went fishing ,and fire pit to relax by at night. A few miles away in town were some very good restaurants we liked when we didn't cook on the outside grill which was at the back door by the picnic table. You will also find churches and shopping downtown. My brother travels from NJ while I live in southern Me. WE are already talking about coming back next year. We just have to decide on a date.

Owner's reply: Dear Tim, There is nothing better that makes my aches and pains feel better at 76 years of age than your gracious comments. This home has a great history for happiness! Joe

beautiful spot very quiet and peaceful close to all amenities with in 5 min. beautiful lake with lots of boats and skiers to watch seen a few fish break and loons never went swimming sandy beach is small had a 21/2 yr old she had plenty to entertain her sand box and we bought a $5.00 pool and she played in that so it wasn't a problem to keep her away from the lake there is everything you need in the camp the cell reception isn't the best but you can find service walking around .

Owner's reply: Thank you Maxine for your return visit and for your kind comments. Joe

Once again our family had a wonderful time at the camp. We came from North Carolina and California to join in to visit our Maine kids and grandkids. Great weather, good local food and family made this yet again a fun time for kids and grandkids. Could not keep the grandkids out of the water! Hope to continue to make it a family tradition.

Owner's reply: I especially identify with what you wrote about grandkids in the water, special memories and family traditions. Glad to have you and your family Cinda! Joe
