Reviews for this vacation apartment rental in Manhattan, New York
Sister's Yearly Retreat
April 13, 2014
This unit was larger than expected, considering it's NY. One downfall we saw immediately was NO elevator. Thankfully, we are in good shape and could pull the luggage up 3 flights of steps, adding 4 for each landing. I can see this as a problem for some. The checking in went smoothly and dealt with a very nice, mannerly young man. We were NOT charged for the luggage storage fee, as we were only about 1.5 hour hours early. Our unit was on 51st., between 8th & 9th. We could walk to plays, subways, Times Square ( about 6 blocks) easily. On our street alone there are 5 restaurants. We tried the Italian, Maria Pia, very reasonable with excellent food. I was once told, to not stay beyond 48th/8th...." not the best end of town". They have revitalized this area and we, as women, felt very safe. Lots and lots of eateries on 9th. The unit itself was clean. The repair work by their workmen was very sloppy. For instance, paint or putty left on shower curtain, walls and flooring in bathroom, very unprofessionally done. Other than that, we found no complaints with this unit. Our TV was out of commission, due to the cable company. However, we were not in the room long enough to worry about this. We would stay here again.
No frills, clean comfortable, central location

7 of us (all women) stayed 6 nights in late April. The apartment is no frills but spacious, clean, functional, quiet, safe, and well equiped. Having 2 bathrooms was very nice, you only get 1 towel for each person for your whole stay so take extra's if you want more. Easy walk to Times Square (about 1 1/2 small blocks). We walked all over Manhattan from the apartment, and also took the subway which is just up the street. We never took a cab anywhere. There is a big grocery store very close. Food Emporium, just ask anyone where it is, we found people very helpful. Ask for a customer card at the till so you get the cheaper prices. And since Times Square is so close, everything you need is there, restaurants, bars, shopping. Apartment does have internet, but it's not wireless. We felt very safe in the area. Walking home at 2 a.m. and some of us up and running to and around Central Park at 6 a.m. Always lots of people and police around. I did have one complaint. It was very cold the first 2 days when we arrived and the apartment was really cold. We couldnt figure out how to turn on the heater and I had a hard time reaching the caretaker, it was Easter weekend. He said the boiler was broken and there would be no heat. I asked if he could get us an electric heater, but he said no. Then later in the day, he phoned and said the boiler was fixed but it was set to come on only if the temperature got to 48 degrees, and we could not control it. Luckily it warmed up in NY and the apartment warmed up so we were ok with no heat, otherwise I dont know what would have happened, I know we would not have stayed with no heat if the weather hadnt changed. it was too cold in there.

The apartment was great, spacious & quiet, equipped with everything needed. Great location - we walked everywhere! Good communication with the owner. We would love to do it again!

Functional, clean and wonderfully located though certainly not quiet during the night. Sounded like we had the windows open which we didn't. No balcony (which didn't matter), no internet (which did). Very uncomfortable bed for 3rd person in large bedroom though all the rest were fine. Good value for the cost.

We took our family to NYC for Christms this year and thought an apartment would better satisy our desire to share Christmas than a couple rooms in a hotel. It was great. The apartment location was excellent. The apartment was pretty utilitarian, but clean. No internet connection. No balcony as stated. We underestimated driving time to NYC and getting through the Lincoln Tunnel. The lady warned us, but we were still very surprised. We paid extra for her to wait for us - not a problem and very fair. Once we got through the tunnel, it was a VERY short drive to the apartment and there is parking right across the street.

Well worth it

We rented the apartment for a girls trip in NYC. Seven of us slept comfortably with plenty of room. While the apartment is not perfect it is very clean and has everything you need in a safe location that is walking distance to Times Square and Central park.

We (6 friends) stayed at the condo for 7 nights. the condo is exactly as described and in prime condition; it was very clean and neat. The owner is very helpful and supportive. The location is very good, walking distance to Times Square and the underground, running distance to Central Park, and there are fabulous restaurants just around the corner (Taboon, Caselulla). Overall, a great value for money! we will stay there again when visiting New York.

Was very satisfied with the apartment. There were six of us in total and we all slept comfortably. It is centrally located clean and tidy. Any problems were sorted immediately. The owner is very professional, courteous and helpful. Will definitely use again.

Central Location and Clean
July 23, 2008
This no frills apartment was a great find for the group. If your looking for a hip New York place this isn't it...however, it is clean and functional as well as centrally located. Some of the folks I was travelling with had not been to NYC before so the location made things easy. One thing to watch out for are the stairs...there was no mention made of them, and they are not too daunting, just unexpected. There are two flights up to the first floor and if you've got people in your party that do not navigate stairs well this may not be the place for you. We enjoyed our stay and would use this service again.

Awesome NYC Experience!!!

My friends & I chose to have a "real NCY experience" by staying in an apt. instead of a hotel & are we glad! The apartment was right in the middle of everything & VERY clean & spacious. We felt very safe with the security measures of the building. The owners were very friendly & accommodating as well. We all agreed we will never do the hotel thing again.
