SECURITY DEPOSIT NOT RETURNED

I have rented apartments in various cities over the years and this is the first time I've ever been burned. We rented this apartment in September and it, and its location, suited our needs. It all seemed legit with a contract being sent out ahead of time and multiple contacts from the owner who showed up to meet us when we arrived. However, the owner has not returned our $500 security deposit even though the apartment was left spotless. She won't return calls, texts or emails. A friendly piece of advice, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PERSON.

We booked this apartment months ahead for a 4 day stay in New York. The owner canceled our reservation with little or no explanation (by email) the day before we were supposed to fly out. We were left high and dry with non refundable flights and no accomodation. The owner (Shar) did not seem very sympathetic to our plight at all nor care that we were extremely inconvenienced. To say there was was a complete lack of communication is an understatement. Buyer beware...this whole experience was absolutely DISMAL. Save yourself the stress and anxiety and try another apartment.

The owner was accomodating and quick to respond. To be honest, I was a little weary of the neighborhood when I first got here but thorughout my stay here, I fell in love with the place and its convinience. The location of the apartment is great for those looking for a quick place to stay while venturing the city. Would be perfect for younger population. I can see that this place may be not so great for families with younger children since it can get quite busy outside at night time.

This rental was just like the pictures. I would say it sleeps four comfortably, not 7. It has a great location, only one block from the subway and alot of local dining spots in the area. There is also a larger grocery store close. On a return trip to New York, I would stay here again.
We ended up with an extra person, only 6 could fit in the beds (2 queens and a full), but the owner supplied an air mattress, so it worked out well. Great location too. Super close to subway and lots of restaurants.
"Incredible area, lots to do here.....Apartment was clean and check in went smoothly, even though I arrived at 10pm."
