This could be your Sweet Home Away from Home...
Start your search at the junction of Padre Faura Street and M. Adriatico Street, where Kashmir and Kamayan are located next to each other. The former serves Indian curries and the latter traditional Filipino fare eaten with the hands. From here to Nakpil Street and Remedios Circle, the entire length of M. Adriatico is lined with eateries. On the corner of Pedro Gil Street stands Robinson's Place, which is packed with dining and drinking possibilities, including the mall's own Food Court where you can feast inexpensively in cool and comfortable surroundings.
Nakpil Street, formerly a wealthy residential neighborhood, abounds with houses and apartment buildings that have been converted into bars and restaurants. More than just purveyors of food, these act as trendsetters of style. Bravo! mixes fashion with a full menu of Italian dishes. Matina, a restaurant cum art gallery, introduces you to imaginative fusion cuisine. Sala offers contemporary European food in a very stylish setting. People's Palace features tasty Thai food and tasteful minimalist décor. Casa Armas draws in discriminating diners with its black paella and other Spanish specialties. Episode Café, Three Amigos, Jazz Rhythms, Insomnia, Kemistry, Politixx, Gotham and a dozen other places lure the young sophisticates with a thematic décor and the added attraction of live music, shows or dancing.
Another string of chic eateries can be found at the crossing of Nakpil and Maria Orosa Street: Café Caribana (Caribbean food), The Golden Triangle (northern Thai), Pepe & Pilar (Filipino with a modern twist), Garlic Rose (everything is seasoned with the medicinal bulb),Café Breton (coffee and crepes) and Batavia (novel varieties of coffee, tea and cakes).
Around Remedios Circle, which is just a couple of blocks south of Nakpil, the creations of Larry Cruz, arguably Manilas most successful restaurateur, predominate, each with a theme of its own. Café Adriatico is known for Spanish-based Filipino food, Café Adriatico 1900 for refined ambience, Café Havana for Cuban cooking and a Hemingway-inspired cigar room, In the Mood for ballroom dancing, Bistro Remedios for regional Filipino delicacies, and Larry's Bar as a hangout of rich kids.
Guernicas (traditional Spanish food), The Red Crab (crabs and steaks), 604 Cafe Gallery (café-art gallery frequented by the bohemian set) and the delightfully naughty Kink Cakes (the concoctions will make some peoples eyes pop out) are also in the vicinity, as are The Library (karaoke and stand-up comedy), The Glasshouse (Asian-Italian fusion cuisine), Portico (continental décor, same food as The Glasshouse) and Sidebar (where upwardly mobile youth congregate to upbeat music).
Around the corner, on A. Mabini Street, you will find a different set of places altogether, most notably the Hobbit House (a throwback to the '60s, featuring live music) and the Republic of Malate. The latter encompasses the Good Earth Tea Room (contemporary Chinese cuisine), Survival Café (drinks with cigars, billiards, or poetry reading) and the Republic Dance Club (a disco and venue for concerts and plays).
Robinson Place Residence, Manila-Philippines
Rizal Park is about 20 minutes walsk along a broad boulevard stretching several kilometers past the US Embassy. Other points of interests are Ramon Magsaysay Center, Manila Yacht Club, Central Bank of the Philippines, Cultural Center of the Philippines and Philippine Senate. This oceanfront esplanade, named Roxas Boulevard, runs through sections of Metro Manila (City of Manila, Pasay City and Parañaque City), and then turns inland toward Las Pinas City, home of the world's only Bamboo Organ. As you travel southward, a superb vista of Manila Bay, scene of famous naval battles and renowned for its magnificent sunsets, opens up on your right.
Around the boulevard are two districts traditionally known as Manila's tourist belt--Ermita where Robinsons Place Residence is and Malate. Both areas are packed with brand-new or renovated hotels, restaurants, cafés, antique shops, souvenir stores, travel agencies and the like. Robinson's Place is a huge shopping mall with just about everything you could ask for in terms of shopping, eating and entertainment. The fashionable set congregates after dark around Nakpil Street and Remedios Circle, a couple of blocks south of the mall. Further away lies Pasay City, which is known for its casinos and girlie bars.
The Inner City
Facing the northeastern fringe of Rizal Park, you will notice a building with a clock tower--the Manila City Hall. This is where the Mayor of the City of Manila holds office and runs the affairs of such districts as Quiapo, Santa Cruz, Binondo and San Nicolas, all of which are situated further north across the Pasig River. The first three areas feature churches of great historical and cultural significance. Quiapo Church is the home of the Black Nazarene, a life-size image of Christ that has been the object of fervent veneration over centuries. Divisoria Market in San Nicolas sells everything under the sun, while gold and Chinese delicacies are the staple goods at the stores and stalls of Chinatown in Binondo. All four districts are part of the inner city and worth visiting for their fascinating local color and flavor, though the visitor should venture into them only in the company of a Filipino friend or a trustworthy guide.

A Nice Place to Stay

A Nice Place to Stay
December 20, 2015
I stayed there for a month and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The owner was very easy to work with and the staff were fantastic. The bed was extremely comfortable and the A/C in combination with the fans, kept us very comfortable. The internet worked great. The only negative would be that for a month it was a bit small and there were only 2 of us and mobile phone reception was spotty. I would highly recommend it, especially for shorter visit.
Note that living space of the condo was published in our AD; other couples who stayed with us have no complaints and have been regular clients every time they visit manila. With respect to mobile phone, it depends on the carrier you are using, Globe has been known to have poor reception in a lot of places. Thanks for staying with us. Your business was highly appreciated.

The condo was perfect for my week long stay. The full kitchen, Stove, oven, full size refrigerator, and American style coffee maker was the key deciding factor for renting here. The average price for 2 people in Ermita is around $50 per night, this was like $55 per night. The internet was lighting fast. The pool was nice although only 5 feet deep.
Note that our rental fee haven't increased since we opened in 2007 and with unlimited calls available for USA and Canada this $55 fee is a bargain. Also consider the location of the condo being part of Robinsons Place Mall, no need to get out of the street since everything you practically need is at the mall.

I stayed in this condo with an exceptional view of Manila Bay. The location was perfect so much in walking distance in any direction from the building. I will use this place again on every stay to Philippines. This condo even have a very reliable cleaners on site and a great exercise room. I would recommend this rental property anytime to any one.

I am really impressed with this condo, Kudos to Mr. Jay Sumilang (owner). It is very convenient to everything, you name it they've got it, entertainment in the surrounding malate/mabini area, close to Manila Bay and best of all the Robinsons shopping mall is just downstairs. The guards are very polite and attentive to your needs. The condo itself is clean. I am impressed with hot water because it remains hot while you are showering unlike other hotels hot water runs out after 3 minutes while showering. Grocery is also downstairs and you can cook if you get tired of eating out. I have nothing bad to say about this condo. It has free internet also. I will stay here again in the future. Thanks Jay.
I would recommend Jay Sumilangs condo to anyone. The Robinsons Place is so convenient to the adjacent mall and other places of interest. Pretty much everything you need is there and the staff are very helpful. Mr. Sumilang makes it so convenient for us by providing pretty much anything you need in a house to use during our stay including internet service, which is very fast (100Mbps)

We stayed in Mang Jay's condo from November 23 to December 8, 2007. The condo is centrally located, it has a side door to enter the mall, the mall has everything, and I mean everything from the supermarket for food, mercury drug, theater, bowling alley, eateries, shopping, Cebu pacific office, name it, they have it. The condo is also close to two hospitals Manila Doctors and Manila Medical Center. Close to jeepney rides and bus rides in Taft Avenue and Padre Faura, LRT, and taxis. It has an awesome view of Manila Bay and Manila (facing Luneta). There is a single bed and a futon bed/sofa in the living room. The staff in the first floor reception area are all very helpful and courteous. They make your stay very pleasant. It was also nice for the condo to have local phone access and access to a computer with internet service. Mang Jay is also very accomodating as far as making a reservation for the condo. We had so much fun, I recommended my friend to stay there for a few days this January. We will definitely stay there again.
