Description of the Manzanillo vacation townhouse rental
Welcome to the heart of Manzanillo, located on the southern tip of the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. We have several rental opportunities to offer you; stay in one of our rooms within the village house, or rent the entire two-floor village house. The village house is just 200 meters from the white sandy beach and we are surrounded by beautiful scenery. Alternatively, rent the jungle house with its huge garden, which is just 300 meters from Manzanillo village and its white sandy beach.

Enjoy the stunning surroundings and all the tours and activities that we offer. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise!

Rooms in Village House:
In total we have four spacious rooms which have been built in a perfect combination of Caribbean and European styles, which is unique to the area. Faya Lobi is situated in the center of Manzanillo but with the luxury of being in a quiet spot with the jungle at the rear of the property and the beach at the front just 200 meters away. Parking is available for several cars/RV/boat/trailer. Each room is equipped with a bathroom complete with a hot water shower, toilet, mosquito nets and a fan. Two of the four rooms can accommodate three people per room. The other two rooms can accommodate two people per room. All the beds have good Dutch made mattresses and all linens and towels are provided. There is a fully equipped open plan communal kitchen which is situated between the rooms for you to prepare your own breakfast, lunch or dinner, whilst enjoying the views of our gardens, maybe spotting a hummingbird flying past or a howler monkey hanging from the trees in the backyard. There are a selection of small supermarkets just minutes away to pick up your supplies, however there are several restaurants and sodas close by should you not wish to cook.
There are two terraces (upstairs and downstairs) to enjoy the peace and tranquility either from a hammock or one of the cozy seats. The cabins are surrounded by beautiful scenery. Downstairs there are several books to read at your leisure or you may exchange one of your own.
Should you have any problems or questions during your visit, we are just steps away to help as we live downstairs at the rear of the property.

Area Information
Faya Lobi is located in the heart of Manzanillo, just 200 meters from the beach. Manzanillo is a small, laid-back fishing village with about 250 inhabitants, largely influenced by Afro-Caribbean traditions and customs and is a pleasant and relaxed place with friendly locals. The village is the last town south of the surfing town of Puerto Viejo. The main attraction of Manzanillo is its fabulous white sand beach that is lined with palm trees and jungle and is bathed in the calm and gentle waters of the Caribbean Sea with an amazing coral reef just offshore. This makes Manzanillo a perfect spot for snorkeling, swimming and even scuba diving.

Tourists and locals visit Manzanillo for a delicious meal in the infamous Maxi's restaurant, which is famous for its lobster and fresh seafood. If seafood is not for you, they do of course have other dishes. You can also enjoy the sea views whilst enjoying a drink.
There is plenty to see and do in Manzanillo; fishing, dolphin watching (there are three species of dolphin that live in the waters in the area), surfing, nature excursions, hiking, to name just a few. For more tour and excursion ideas, check out our "activities" section.

There are no ATM machines in Manzanillo. The nearest bank with an ATM is in Puerto Viejo where you can also use your Visa or Mastercard credit card or normal debit card at the Banco de Costa Rica. There are a few buses that drive to Puerto Viejo daily but if you do not have your own transportation, we recommend you have enough money for your stay in Manzanillo in your possession. Alternatively you can go to BriBri to use the ATM at the Banco Nacional. This is a long drive and not a pleasant bus ride. On the map below, you can see in which region of Costa Rica you can find our cabins.

The Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge
The Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge is one of the most beautiful regions of Costa Rica. Just a few kilometers north of the Panama border, the wildlife refuge protects some the region's most endangered flora and fauna. The refuge is classified as a humid tropical rainforest and also nurtures the only natural mangrove oyster beds found along the reefs of the coast.

Surrounding several rare habitats like a lowland rainforest, a wetland and a mangrove swamp, the refuge also safeguards the only orey and jolillo palm swamps in Costa Rica. A one of a kind habitat, the refuge includes a 10 kilometer beach strip, a 740 acre forest, a coral reef and two swamps. The Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge is also the nesting area for several species of turtles, manatees, crocodiles, caimans, tarpons and dolphins.

Among the abundance of wildlife found here are; crocodiles, pacas, West Indian manatees, caimans, tapirs, tarpons, dolphins, green sea turtles, leatherback sea turtles, frigate birds, woodpeckers, parakeets, eagles, pelicans and toucans. Inhabiting the lovely coral reef here are many brightly colored fish and marine life including the blue parrot fish, angel fish, sea anemones, urchins, Venus sea fans, shrimps, oysters, sea cucumbers, lobsters and sponges.
