About the area

Marathon Florida area includes several keys referred to as the middle Keyes. It is located at the beginning of the historic 7 mile bridge and is about an hour from Key West and two hours from Miami. The largest key is Vaca Key which means "cow" in Spanish and refers to the numerous Manatees or sea cows that inhabit the water in this area. Beaches close by are Key Colony beach, Coco Plum Beach with rest room facilities, Sombrero Beach with playground, pavilions, grills, restrooms and showers, and Bahia Honda Beach and park with full facilities and water sports . There are great scuba and snorkeling areas, kayaking, deep sea fishing and other water sports.

“Paradise within Paradise!!!”

Reviewed 26 Jan 2017

The house was amazing and so was Cindy! I almost hate to let the rest of the world know what a gem this property is. We booked the home with another couple and unfortunately our friend's father became terminally ill and ended up passing away during the trip so my husband and I had the whole house to ourselves. With the loss of our friends father and them not able to be with us put a damper on our trip but we ended up having the most relaxing vacation you could have in the Keys. I worked on my laptop from the main balcony every morning watching the iguana's roam around and huge tarpon swimming around. I miss the sound of the waterfall coming on at 9am every morning, very soothing. We spent one day in Key West but couldn't wait to get back to the house to "chill out" we used the hot tub every night & pool during the day. We grilled out twice during the week. The kitchen and home pretty much had everything we needed. Thank you Cindy for your recommendations and we look forward to seeing you in September & booking again in 2018 (if not before)

“Absolutely Fantastic”

We stayed at the condo for three days and didn't want to leave. The place is nicely decorated and spotless. The views are incredible and made for a peaceful relaxing vacation. I have not been to the Keys since I was a kid and really enjoyed the great views relaxing and looking at the beautiful ocean. This location is a short drive to Key West and near everything the Keys have to offer. The owner Ted is easy to deal with and I can assure you we will be coming back year after year.

“Perfect wake up each day!!”

As we parked the car, we knew the house was going to be amazing. Walking in and touring the house for the first time, confirmed our initial thoughts and then some! Each morning waking up and sitting on the porch watching the water, hearing the birds is without a doubt, pure pleasure! The home was so perfect, it made us feel right at home from day 1. Everything you could possibly need was at our fingertips. The surroundings were amazing. Perfect views of the water and a place to dock your boat is included The house was clean and very well maintained. The top deck is perfect way to end the day and watch the world class sunsets Hot tub was a welcome activity after kayaking and walking Duval street I would definitely recommend flying Into key west versus Miami. It took almost 4 hours to get to marathon because the major highway leaving airport was closed. We would no doubt return to this home if we travel again to that area and highly recommend it to everyone. We used the steps, but an elevator is There to make it easy. We ate so much key lime pie, steps were mandatory !!
