Luxury Living with Cozy Home Feel
October 14, 2015
Our jaws dropped the moment we entered this home. The decor is fun, upscale and inviting--the perfect ambience for an escape from the reality of day to day living. And yet, the layout and space was so easy to get used to that it quickly became a home for our family. We loved the quiet location and really enjoyed our neighbours--the burrowing owls! They are quite entertaining. Our family particularly enjoyed eating outside in the lovely patio area and relaxing in the hot tub at night. The owners have a great local guide book they have made themselves with all sorts of handy tips and recommendations. I liked having that because we got to act a bit more like the locals. One perk to this home that you must take advantage of is use of the bicycles. It is the best way to get to the beach (no parking fee!) And a blissful way to enjoy the sights. Beach parking fees are $8 a day but you can pay $50 for a pass that will let you park for the time of your stay. This space was very easy to live in. The entertainment room was perfect for a fun movie night and a Netflix binge session! It is a very comfortable and relaxing space that allowed for minimal cleaning if you are staying longer than a week. We were really impressed with the generosity of the owners as the things in their home are of high quality, good condition and plenty of options regarding bedding, towels, house supplies and outdoor adventure gear. You will need to buy your own spices, as salt and pepper were the only stock cupboard items. The grocery store is a four minute walk with lots of selection, though. Shopping, restaurants, etc are very accessible. We liked the fact that we were in a quiet area yet with a five minute drive we could be involved in the bustling night life. We found this location to be ideal for beach living and quick day trips to other parts of Florida. One afternoon we went to the Everglades and within half an hour saw plenty of wildlife. Another day we drove for a few hours and were in the Keys and drove back through Miami Beach. Very accessible to get around the town itself and to visit other places. We loved this home and it was the perfect back drop for our many adventures in Florida. Tons of wildlife to see at any of the beaches, great shelling and, as promised by the owners in their guide book, the most stunning sunsets you will ever see.
