“newly refurbished, very clean motel”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2015

We stayed in the one story motel and had two adjoining rooms, each having a door to the outside. One room had a kitchenette, murphy bed (double or queen size - hard mattress), bathroom, small kitchen table and couch. The adjoining room had a queen bed (one side was right up against the wall; this mattress was medium softness - not where two people would crater into the middle though) chair, bathroom and dresser. Also had a big TV. The place was newly redone - new appliances, floor tile, bathroom tile etc - all very nice and very clean. The owner was very nice. During the night, the shades did not block out the light coming in from outside (we had turned our outside light off, but there were other sources of light coming through the shades) so the rooms were not super dark at night. The place is on the main road along the shore of Lake Superior - during the first night when it was windy, from our bedroom we could hear the waves crashing along the shore! We couldn't get any wifi from our rooms, but never asked the management about it wasn't that important to us. Our son goes to NMU in Marquette - it was about 25 minute drive to Seacoast from Marquette, and about 45 minutes to get to Pictured Rocks. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Marquette.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to review our property! We appreciate it soooo much. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and can't wait to host you again!

“Beautiful, clean, roomy -- awesome!”

Love the Seacoast Resort properties and will definitely stay there again. The kitchenettes are a nice extra that you don't get in a hotel/motel setting. Two bathrooms in our unit was great as well! Beds were really comfy... the beach access was great for star gazing, seeing the Northern Lights, campfires, walking on the beach, etc...

“Relaxing-central location”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2015

We had a great time at seacoast, couldn't have asked for better hosts and a great location. We will go again and would highly recommend to others.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much Mr. Berry for all your kind words! We are looking forward to your next visit!

“Felt at Home yet we could see Lake Superior”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2015

My husband and I stayed for 4 days and we will go back next year. It was clean, stocked and the pictures on line did not do it justice.

Owner's reply: So wonderful that you took the time to post a review! We really appreciate all the feedback. We enjoyed having you stay with us and hope you will be back soon!

“Perfect”

great place, quiet, dead of winter, was able to stay warm easily, great kitchen, only issue was I ran out of propane and didn't know there was more in a shed or that I even had access to the shed.

“Spacious and Beautiful”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2012

We stayed at Seacoast SandRiver for two weeks while I was on a work assignment near Marquette. There are several options to choose from, and I can only comment on the Loft, which was incredibly spacious, clean, functional, and enjoyable. Our family of six fit in the space very well, we enjoyed the lake views, access to the beach, and very friendly owners. They were very accomodating, friendly, and flexible. I would highly recommend this space to anyone who either needs that much space for 4-8 people, or can afford the cost. My only two negatives would be 1) the need to cross Hwy 28 to get to the beach, and 2) the need to drive 15 minutes to get to town. Neither of these is a show-stopper by any means, but just something to be aware of. So, next time you're in Marquette for an extended stay, want to be near the beach (which is an incredible one, by the way) and don't mind being a bit of a drive from town, stay at Seacoast SandRiver!

“Great place”

We stayed for two nights and was great. The owners are wonderful and very helpful. The location cannot be beat.

“Great spot for family!”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2011

The owners were so gracious and helpful! They took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. We have stayed many places in Marquette, and this is a great resort for the price. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the rooms were comfortable. The location was right across from a beautiful beach - an easy and short walk across the street. We hope to return again!

Dear Innkeeper word of mouth from a work colleague perked our stopping by in August to look around. My wife found the rooms quaint and we have enjoyed our first night with you. PS the candles are a nice touch! McCormyk's

Hey guys, couldn't imagine a more perfect place to enjoy our anniversary, and to catch up on quiet thoughts and peaceful musings, away from the chaos and noise of the city, from the press of hectic and frantic people. It is good to have a sanctuary and good friends to visit here at Seacoast. See you as soon as possible Ana and William Turck

Geoff and Carole Once again we had a great time and have appreciated all your kindnesses. I don't think anything escaped our notice-not the new TV and table nor the little seacoast memo pad. We used each and our stay was made that much more pleasurable. And of course thanks for the use of the grill and laundry! best wishes and we will see you next year !

We certainly are passing along good recommendations to anyone who's looking for a little niche of Americana right along Lake Superior. You two fit the bill as you made us feel most welcome in your "home".

We arrived safe and sound at home, thanks in no small part to the generosity and kindness of people like you. Though it sounds like an exaggeration, the sleep that we had in your loft was one that we both agree was the most refreshing of the trip... "superior accommodations" as you so aptly put it on your business card... You take care of a precious spot of land, may it remain that way into the far distant future..

We wanted to thank you again for providing our family with such wonderful accommodations during our visit to Marquette for our son's wedding in July... Booking accommodations sight unseen doesn't always turn out as well as our experience at Seacoast... You both made us all feel very welcome and we look forward to another visit in the near future.
