“Wonderful stay at the Welch Riverview Re"treat"”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2016

Our family of four felt renewed after our stay. The home is set back off the highway with a nice big yard and privacy. The view is spectacular. We watched a Great Lakes Ore Boat go by every morning out on the Lake Superior. The central location between Marquette and Munising lets you enjoy the scenic views and all the towns have to offer. We brought our own kayaks but enjoyed the canoe that was there for our use along with the badmitton, volleyball ,horseshoes, charcoal grill and fire pit. We truly felt revived after our stay. Lots of room in the home and the sauna, tub and pool table kept us busy. It was nice having the WiFi and the Satellite tv but we played the board games that were there also. All you need is your food , clothing and family everything is there in a nice clean environment along with a washer and dryer. We will surely be back again!!

Owner's reply: Thank you for the great review! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again.

“Relaxing stay at The Welch re"treat".”

This home is set back from highway with a private setting. Plenty of room with three floors in the home . The view of the lake and river will have you sitting on one of the two decks just relaxing and enjoying the view. It was easy to launch our kayaks from the yard into the river which flows into Lake Superior. There is also a canoe there complete with life vests and fish to be caught. Every morning we could see an ore boat (ship) going by from the dock in Marquette. We took a ride to the free Lakenenland Junk Art toward Marquette and there are many beach areas along the way to Munising. The central location lets you venture to Munising or Marquette in a short amount of time. We just enjoyed sitting on the deck, tried volleyball and badminton sets that was there, played the board games and being on/near the water. We were rejuvenated by the time we left . You can count on us being regulars! It was nice to have the wifi and satellite but we mostly enjoyed just being there with each Other. The pool table , sauna and tub were a plus! There is also a charcoal grill to use and fire pit with wood for a campfire. There is a quiet big back yard with no close neighbors for privacy. Everything you pretty much need is there. Just bring your cloths , food and family and walk away feeling refreshed as we did. For those of you who snowmobile a trail isn't far! Marquette has plenty of bike trails along the shore line. Munising has the boat tours along with kayak rentals. Or just relax along the shores of the fresh clear waters of Lake Superior. You will fell at home at the Welch Retreat when you return from your nearby adventures.

Owner's reply: Thank you Karen for the awesome review! I'm glad you enjoyed the house and all the activities to do in the area! Looking forward to hearing from you for your next trip (:

Me and my friends really loved the place. We were amazed by its beauty and great location. We spent our night gazing stars and were lucky enough to spot some shooting stars and were even able to see the milky way. the master bedroom on the 2nd floor has an amazing view. I thoroughly recommend this place.

“Amazing week in the UP”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2015

Fully enjoyed our visit. The house was ideal - we canoed on the river and on the lake, visited Pictured Rocks, and spent most of our time exploring outdoors. House location and amenities are great, only slight issues were lack of AC (but we had unusually hot weather) and lack of curtains/blinds on the windows in the master bedroom (but the beautiful views more than made up for that).

Owner's reply: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in the U.P.! Usually it isn't to hot there so there hasn't been a need for A/C but, now we are considering it. Thank you for the great review (:

“Loved this place!”

The kids loved riding the canoe to the lake. Great place and plenty of room for my family of 5. Would definitely go back.

Owner's reply: Foreman Family, I'm glad you all had a great time! Hopefully your next time in the U.P. you will stay again (: Thank you for the great review!

“Summer Fun”

Reviewed 20 Jul 2015

The views were great! Perfect location if you are visiting Marquette or Munising, right in the middle. The room was great, plenty of it. The kids loves the sauna and the laundry shoot. The pool table down stairs was odd in placement because it was difficult to play with so little room and only one stick was tough to have fun. Dont know what dish package that you have but no espn or fox sports Detroit was difficult to handle with not seeing the Tigers. The biggest problem that we had was the lack of hot water. After a bath for the kids there was no hot water for adult showers. Overall, decent stay the good outweighed the bad.

Owner's reply: Thank you for a good review! I'm sorry about pool table, the tv & the water. We will do our best to fix those (: I'm glad you had a great time though!

“Great location and escape”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2015

Excellent locale between Munising and marquette. Property was very clean and quiet. The views of plane superior from the house are amazing. The jet boat ride in Munising ( riptide rush) was lots of fun for all of us ( adults and teens). consider adding shades/ curtains to upstairs windows( riverside) to block lights from highway at night. Would def stay here again.
