“Peace and quiet”

Reviewed 10 Dec 2015

As stated the driveway is scary the first time up and down. After that it's not bad at all. I met my Aunt and Uncle from Ohio at the house and we had a great time sight seeing during the day and just visiting each other in the evenings. It was nice to have a whole house with comfortable seating to visit. The beds were comfortable and we had every thing we needed, it was just like being at home. My 2 year old grandson had room to play and never once cried to go home. We had a great visit with all the comforts of home! If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful get away with a view look no further!

Owner's reply: Thanks to you Rhonda for enjoying our Smoky Mountain retreat. Our goal is for our guests to feel comfortable as if ther were in their own home and to truly enjoy their visit. The Smoky Mountains are full of Wonders and we think we've found the perfect spot to explore them.

“Best Kept Secret In The Smokies!”

Upon contacting David about his home, I knew I had found the right place for my family! He is very courteous, prompt, and accommodating. The pictures of this gorgeous mountain retreat does NOT do it justice! The home opens into a comfy, inviting living room, complete with a charming wood burning fireplace, open to the clean and efficient, fully equipped kitchen with an adjacent dinning area big enough for eight. 3 large bedrooms, beautifully decorated with the master boasting an on suite! The home is very comfortably furnished with rustic log furniture, and anything you may need for your trip can be located in the utility room that is complete with a washer and dryer. The front deck gives rise to the most glorious unobstructed view of the mountains and provides a wonderful place to have coffee in the mornings. The driveway was a little scary at first but once I went up the first time I was handling it like a pro! My family and I had the most amazing time making wonderful memories here and we will be coming back yearly! Everything the family wanted to do was within 40 minutes (Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, National Park) If you are looking for a real mountain retreat away from the tourist traps and conveniently located close to everything, you found it!!! Thank you for having us David, we will see you again soon! The Williams Family

Owner's reply: Hi Angela, We are glad that you guys enjoyed your vacation. Thank you for becoming part of our Smoky Mountain Family. Chili

“Amazing place to stay”

Not only do you get an amazing view, you get privacy, wild life, a trail... The house was great. My fiancé and I loved the couches the most. There is a nice flat screen tv and the whole house is perfect sized. We loved staying here. It has everything we need. We have already agreed to come back some time soon! We honestly just loved it so much and I know that any one else would too. The driveway is very steep but my little car made it no problem. Thank you so much David

Owner's reply: It was a pleasure having you guys! You are welcome back to the smoky mountain hideout anytime

comfortable house with everything you need for a great vacation home, but the view of the mountains from the deck is absolutely awesome. We've already talked about going back in fall when the leaves are changing.

Owner's reply: Thank you Dan, you have discovered east Tennesse's best secret. It was a pleasure having you guys stay with us and you are always welcome back to our Smoky Mountain Home. Chili

“Loved the view”

I gave this rental a 5, due to view, price and cleanliness. Also, the owner was always responsive to my questions leading up to my arrival and entry to the property was a breeze. The road leading up to the property is curvy and steep and provided much conversation and laughs for me and my family. If you are planning on more than two vehicles, you might not want to take all the vehicles up the drive , because you may not get turned around. No wifi, but internet phones worked well. The only negative I would say is the bedroom carpets are extremely used.

“What a view!”

We rented this mountain cabin over the holidays as I have family nearby in Maryville (15 minutes away). It is in the country but not far from shopping. All roads in this area are windey and hilly - that is life in the mountains. The house is WAY up on a mountaintop! The deck looks out of Chilhowee Mountain. We didn't have great weather, but when the skies were clear we could see the mountain and surrounding area and the night sky is amazing. The owners were great to work with and left us plenty of firewood for the fireplace. My dad is an avid runner and enjoyed running on the country roads. We saw no other people except for the occasional passerby. From the cabin, even the other houses on the shared driveway are hidden from view. Very still and quiet. I have no complaints. Be aware that this is a smoking house - so if you are allergic to the smell of cigarettes you might think twice. But the owners were upfront about that too. And you just cannot beat the price! Dave

Great value and comfortable. Drive was steep but did not have a problem going up or down. Had an outstanding view of a big mountain from the front porch. We will stay again when we return to this area.

Owner's reply: Hey Rick it was great to have you all stay with us, you're welcome to come back any time. Our mountain is your mountain home!

“Great smoky mountain hideaway”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2014

My husband & I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It's a beautiful mountain hideaway. The view is gorgeous. It was not hard to find but a well hidden treasure. It comes furnished with most things one would need. It is also convenient to "town" & attractions like Cade's cove, Townsend, pigeon Forge, gatlinburg & many other mountain activities. We will definintaly be staying again.

Owner's reply: It was pleasure to be of service to you. We alway want you to feel like our mountain home is your mountain home

“Great Secluded Vacation Home”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2014

This was a very nice home up high in the mountains in Tennessee. It was great for our family. If you are looking for a rental away from traffic and noise, this is for you. It is several miles from any stores, so take all you might need with you before you head up the mountain. The roads are flat until you get to the driveway, but the driveway up the mountain is quite steep. At the top there is parking for 3 vehicles if you position them correctly. We loved the view!

Owner's reply: Thanks for staying with us Mary Lou. I'm glad you guys enjoyed your stay!

We had a great time. Family loved the Country setting. We even picked wild blueberries for our pancakes. Hiked out in the Back 99 Acres. Would definitely stay again.
