Description of the Mashpee vacation cottage rental
Ocean view Cape Cod beach cottage on beautiful Seconsett Island in Mashpee is the perfect place to vacation by the sea. Steps from the beach, this immaculate 3 bedroom home with an open floor plan is more spacious than it appears on the outside.

Enjoy the breeze on the screened sun porch with your morning coffee, and watch the sun set over the bay with evening drinks.

The cottage feels like you're away from it all, but it's close to attractions like whale watching, golf, and amazing dining and shopping.

Summer rentals are weekly (Saturday to Saturday) only. There's some Spring/Fall weekend availability too.

In addition to the three bedrooms, the couch on the screen porch opens to a bed and there is a futon in the living room.

Steve and I oversee the entire operation of the house and the rental process from the first email inquiry through your check-out. Your satisfaction is very important to us-we want your stay to be perfect! We are a non-smoking, pet-free property.
Area Information
Area Information

Seconsett Island is an island with direct road access via a causeway where water on both sides greets you on arrival to the island.

Seconsett Island is one of the few remaining coastal retreats on Cape Cod that's maintained the charm of days past. There's a laid back, casual vibe here that's impossible to resist. It's a nature lover's paradise.

Waquoit Bay is a lovely, protected ocean bay, part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, and is one of the most studied areas to improve coastal ecosystems.

Water temps are normally in the high 70s during the summer months - there's no chilly water on the southern side of Cape Cod-a real plus for swimming, boating or SUP.

As you drive over the causeway, look for the osprey nest atop a telephone pole. You'll see them soar above the water and dive for fish. Gulls and shore birds are also plentiful, as well as crabs, mussels and other sea life for the nature lovers. Quiet roads are perfect for walks to the beach or to Little River Marina, all just steps from the cottage.

South Cape Beach is another beautiful long sandy beach just a short ride from the house.

Also nearby is Mashpee Commons- an open air marketplace with fun boutiques, home furnishing & gift shops, a juice bar, movie theater, organic market, Starbucks, bowling, and several award-winning restaurants. There's also a pottery shop where kids can make their own creations.

Cape Cod Children's Museum is very close by and offers a variety of fun activities daily.

Theatre lover? The Falmouth Theatre Guild and Cotuit Center for the Arts are both nearby and there's always a show in town.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: We want to experience real Cape Cod, not a tourist area. Will your home work for us?
A: The peaceful surroundings make you feel like you're miles away, but you're also very close to all that Cape Cod has to offer. Seconsett Island has not been over-built like other areas of Cape Cod. Quaint cottages are the norm, not McMansions. It's a quiet area, perfect for experiencing the natural beauty of Cape Cod.
Q: What can I do on Seconsett Island?
A: The safe island roads are perfect for biking and walking. There's very little traffic. Nature walks, beachcombing, boating, stand-up paddling, and sailing are all within steps on Waquoit Bay. Two kayaks and paddles are available for you to enjoy the warm waters of Waquoit Bay. Or bring your book or tablet to the beach and spend the day reading with your toes in the water!
Q: Is there a shopping area nearby?
A: Mashpee Commons, Cape Cod's premiere upscale shopping area is minutes away.
Q: Are pets allowed? How about smoking?
A: Pets and cigarettes are not allowed. Allergen sensitive guests take note!
