About the area

This is a gated and quiet resort but it is also home to many full time residents who have chosen Massanutten as their home. Please respect out neighbors and the community when visiting our home. We discourage groups from visiting who are looking for a large home to "party" in. We hope you will come and relax, unwind, but please be courteous. The new $30M Water Park is a short drive down to the base of the Mountain. It is a wonder with indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting). The buffet dining area is excellent and the arcade is a magnet for all gamers. Massanutten features a Go-Kart track, mini golf, 2 championship 18-hole golf courses (one designed by Arnold Palmer), horseback riding, biking, hiking, and many caves within a 30-45 minute ride including the famous Luray Caverns. James Madison University is located a short 15 minute ride away. While we are in the Massanutten Resort complex we are a private residence and get so special breaks on access to Resort amentities. Anything open to the public is available to you.

“Birthday Celebration”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2016

This house provided my friends and I with more than enough space for our stay and had everything we needed. This is definitely somewhere I would visit again. Thank you for making this home available!!!

Our group graduated from JMU in the 80's and we have been renting homes at Massanutten ever since! This is by far our favorite house!!! Lots of room for adults and kids and a very well equipped kitchen!! We will be back:)

“Excellent Mountain Home!”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2015

Ten women stayed from Thursday night through Sunday in the St. Nick home. The weather was awful, rainy the entire time we were there. This did not stop us from enjoying the beautiful home. The kitchen has everything we needed. The autumn decorations were a wonderful touch in addition to the linens and towels made available to us. We had plenty of space to spend time together or a part. The owner was very helpful with additional questions we had once we arrived. Definitely a fantastic price! We are already talking about another trip in the future.

Owner's reply: I am glad you enjoyed the house.

“wedding weekend”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2014

This was a lovely home with ample sleeping quarters for our group of middle aged adults. The kitchen was well appointed and it was nice not to have to bring towels along as they are provided. It was a rather dreary weekend so we did not get to explore the area as we had wanted to but we lacked for nothing inside at the St. Nick. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Owner's reply: Thanks for the review. I am glad you had a good time.

“60th Birthday get together”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2013

Beautiful place to stay and great size, very roomy for many people to stay. Deer everywhere you looked which the kids enjoyed (and adults too! Would recommend for those who want to relax, hike, or be adventurous.

Owner's reply: Thanks I am glad you enjoyed the house

“The Perfect Get-Away for Our Family”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2013

This beautiful house was the perfect place to get away for a long weekend. The bedrooms slept 18 people perfectly and the 4 bathrooms were more than adequate. We were able to prepare meals for our extended family in the large kitchen which had great appliances. We enjoyed seeing deer in the woods in back. The nearby Masanutten Water Park was a great local attraction which afforded great fun.

Owner's reply: I am glad you enjoyed the house. Thanks for the review

“Birthday weekend”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2012

We decided to celebrate my Dad's 85th birthday out of town so everyone in the family can be together for the weekend. We chose Massanutten because it was only less than 2 hours drive away. We all had a good time. This house is not very large but it is amazing that it has seven spacious bedrooms and can sleep at least 20 people comfortably. One king bedroom on the main level had its own bathroom, and another king bedroom on the lower level had its own bathroom as well. Two bedrooms on the main level shared one bathroom and the same thing is true on the other two bedrooms on the lower level. The owners were very thoughtful with the amenities. Lots of towels, toilet paper, cleaning stuff and kitchen utensils, pots, pans, plates, mugs, silverware, etc. The location is ideal as well, very close to the waterpark and to a beautiful lake. We heard mass in Harrisonburg and went to a nearby vineyard for a tour and wine tasting. We checked-in on Saturday and checked-out on Monday but we felt like we've had a longer break from the busy world because the house was homey. I personally slept on one of the bunk beds and the mattress was comfortable. My family is talking about coming back i the winter time because there are lots to do on the resort during the winter season. Fall is beautiful too because of the view of the mountains and the forest.

“Let's do it again”

Reviewed 5 Apr 2012

My family of 20 including 2 toddlers, had a fantastic weekend, we had plenty of space, enjoyed all of the amenities in the area. My grandson's ninth birthday party was given at the waterpark and I am the best grandma in the world. The house had many special touches, like all kinds of spices, a fully equipped kitchen, the stream out back, the two decks which allowed the teens and adults to separate. We had such a great time, we are discussing a summer trip, as well as, a Christmas trip.. What an awesome weekiend.

“Birthday weekend with grandchildren”

Reviewed 18 Mar 2012

I read all the reviews before we booked and I can honestly say that when they tell you that all you need to bring is your food and personal items, they mean it. I brought way too much stuff for our three day get away. As I unpacked my stuff in the kitchen, my husband or one of the grands would say it's here, so I repacked and put back in the car. I mean, really, they even had an apple slicer. I will come back again, but with a LOT less supplies! Thanks owners!!

Owner's reply: Thanks. I am glad you liked it.

“Great Retreat”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2011

My college soccer team used the house as a weekend retreat during preseason. It was very large and accommodated everyone's different needs. We had 13 girls in the house and there still was plenty of extra space. The neighborhood seemed very safe and quite. The back porch was an added bonus for dinners. We enjoyed a lovely dinner all together outside.
