Area Information
McLean is home to many diplomats, members of Congress, and high-ranking government officials partially due to its proximity to Washington, D.C. and the Central Intelligence Agency. It is the location of Hickory Hill, the former home of Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert F. Kennedy. It is also the location of Salona, the former home of Light-Horse Harry Lee, the Revolutionary War hero.

Located between the George Washington Parkway and the town of Vienna, the area is known for its many upscale homes, as well as for its high-end shopping, such as at the nearby Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria.

As a suburb of Washington, D.C., McLean is a part of both the Washington Metropolitan Area and the larger Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area. The CDP includes the unincorporated communities of Langley, Lewinsville, and West McLean, and it borders several other Washington suburbs including: Potomac and Cabin John, Maryland to the north; Brookmont, Maryland to the northeast; Arlington to the southeast; Falls Church to the south; Idylwood, Pimmit Hills, and Tysons Corner to the southwest; Wolf Trap to the west; and Great Falls to the northwest.

Great Neighborhood

July 10, 2015

My family stayed for a week in this home. We stayed with several other families for a sports tournament in DC. The home was more than roomy enough for everyone and having so many bedrooms and bathrooms made it seem like everyone had their own little place. The neighborhood was extremely nice and convenient. We could walk to the grocery store and the pizzeria, (which was awesome) was a nice stroll as well. The subway station was very close and made traveling around DC easy and pleasant. The owner was readily available with advice and suggestions to help should we need it. Overall, my family loved our time in McLean and much of it was because of the home we stayed in.
