Description of the McMinnville vacation home rental
Baker Street is a lovingly restored 1914 craftsman-style home with 4 bedrooms and 5 baths. We call it LeGrande Chateau. It is decorated with fine antiques and collectibles. We invite you to relax in casual elegance while you enjoy a glass of wine or have a cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea in our parlor. In clement weather, you might prefer to sit on our front porch as you watch the world go by. Or you can adjourn to our large second-story deck out back to have a BBQ with friends, read a good book or have a quiet conversation with your partner.

We offer 2 fully equipped, self-catering vacation rentals that have everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Whether you are in McMinnville for a romantic getaway or here on business, let Baker Street Inn & Vacation Rentals become your "Home away from Home."

We are located just 2 blocks from the Historic Downtown District, an easy walk to fine dining, art galleries, antique stores, and Linfield College.

We believe Baker Street Inn & Vacation Rentals is just what you need for your visit to Oregon's Wine Country.

Area Information
McMinnville is known for its picturesque vineyards that spot the foothills of the Coast Range. Located in Yamhill County, the oldest county in Oregon. Yamhill County is blessed with a long, moderate growing season which has proved ideal for growing such grapes as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and White Riesling. Because of that, McMinnville is often compared to the wine regions of France and Germany.

Since many of the (over 200) wineries have tasting rooms open to the public, a tasting tour is a delightful experience. Many wineries also have festivals, musical performances and picnics during the summer. McMinnville is also home the The Evergreen Aviation Museums and the "Spruce Goose," with a water park to open in summer of 2011

The McMinnville Downtown Historic District is located in the area of Third Street. Recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Oregon Downtown Development Association as an exemplary business district, the downtown area offers an almost park-like setting, with many restaurants and shops to visit. Copies of the self-guided walking tour of the downtown area are available at the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Association and local merchants..

McMinnville is a two hour drive away from spectacular Mt. Hood. In an hour you can reach the Oregon coast, the Columbia River Gorge or the state capital-Salem, and downtown Portland is also close to McMinnville. Come stay at Baker Street Inn & Vacation Rentals, and visit the heart of Oregon's wine country.

Great place fo a large party in a beautiful settin

April 25, 2011

The Baker house is a big, old, eclectic, slightly cluttered, beautiful, comfy house for a large group to stay and enjoy the wine country. The house is equipped with absolutely everything and there is plenty of space to linger over meals, sit and visit, and rest without bothering the rest of the party. Walking distance to beautiful downtown McMinnville (5 minutes). I could not recommend it more.
