“Needs cleaning, repair, and pest control”
I stayed for a month while home hunting when I first moved to the area. First of all, the location is great within walking distance to the historic downtown area, the river walk park, and a restaurant called the mansion. It's kind of a bad neighborhood, though. The traffic on that intersection is busy, and noisy all hours of the day which takes value away from the balcony. Also, the view of the marina is not great. The ad made it sound/look a lot nicer than it is. The place was superficially clean when I arrived, but it's one of those places that doesn't "feel" clean because of its age and state of disrepair. In the bathroom there are rust stains in the tub/shower, the drain cover is missing, and the fan doesn't work. The shower curtain seems too short or installed too high, and the water temperature was either icy cold or scalding hot with no "warm" option. The baseboards were dingy, and the sink area which has the A/C intake directly in the ceiling above was dimly lit with awkwardly low ceilings, while the air intake badly needed cleaning and maybe even a replacement filter. Again, this is how it was when I arrived. The bed is possibly the least comfortable I've ever slept on and the supplied pillows were flat and old. The sheets and comforter were just cheap and thin, and did nothing to add comfort to my experience. There were ant traps on the kitchen counters and window sills when I arrived, and during my stay I had to buy more because ants got into anything I left out (cereal, cookies, & water). Also, there were wasps nesting on the balcony area, and on my last day there, I found a roach walking through the dining room. In fairness, I told the property manager about the pest issues and she said she'd call someone out, so it may be under control for future renters. Finally, there is free WiFi (but it's really slow) and free cable, the furnishings are nice (besides the bed), and it was a bonus to have a fridge/freezer and full kitchen. The counter tops were clean, but inside the drawers/cabinets was very dirty and I found myself washing anything I used before AND after using it. Based on the photos and the description I expected it to be in much nicer shape, but in truth it could have been worse. It's just not a place I would recommend for an extended stay, and having a place to stay for an extended time was the entire point of my visit. If I hadn't prepaid the full month, I would have left sooner.
Owner's reply: I am extremely disappointed to read this review and learn that Julie did not enjoy her stay. I encourage all guests to immediately call if there are any issues with cleaning or anything that needs to be addressed. She stayed a month and didn't reach out until 3 days prior to leaving. "Bad neighborhood' ? I love Downtown, my office closeby and walking everywhere is the big draw. US1 can be busy but you can take quiet Melbourne Ave and avoid it. I hope this doesn't deter from enjoying our area.
“Great location and comfortable apartment!”
My husband and I spent both August and October in this perfect little apartment for a stay in Melbourne, Fl. Located near downtown Melbourne, it was just off the Melbourne causeway for easy access to the beach, plus perfect for getting to every where else in town, too. The apartment is a great size for 2 people, with a separate bedroom, plus kitchenette and dining area nook, plus a living room. Kitchen was well-stocked with plates, utensils and pots and pans, plus all the bedding, towels, etc. are provided. The coin laundry was convenient for a longer-term stay as well. This was a great find - my husband and I will definitely be back the next time we're in Melbourne.
“The perfect place to stay.”
This is a perfect spot to spend the winter. We spent January thru end of March and never got even a little bored. So much to do within walking distance from strolling the streets of historic Melbourne to walking along the harbor and watching the boats. The condo was small but comfortable and with a reliable elevator it didn't matter if we were on first or fourth floor. We have already reserved for next winter and convinced other family to join us . Mark and Lisa are attentive and always available if needed.
This was our first time staying in a melbourne Harbor condo and we love it! Small but compact and perfect for vacation because you and can come and go easily from this location. We are definitely coming back!
We are returning again for the 3rd time in March 2015. We found the condo very comfortable and the local people were exceptionally friendly. . Lisa and Mark proved to be very helpful and I'm sure if we needed anything they would have done their very best to see we got it. Perhaps there will be a teapot next time we return (it's true, we Brits love our tea). The Condo is ideally situated and everywhere is accessible and within walking distance. A visit to Ichabods is a must. They serve good food and the chicken's wings are fabulous. We loved the shops in downtown, they are very much like home. There is so much to do in Melbourne and it comes to life in the evenings. The views from the balcony over the harbour are lovely and an evening stroll along the creek finishes a perfect day. Next year I'm determined to see a manatee, they are so elusive.. Cross the bridge and you will find fabulous beaches and the beautiful Ryckman Park where you can see the dolphins from the pier. I'm counting down till March 2015..
Owner's reply: Peter and Barbara are such lovely guests! Of course we will make sure you have a teapot!

As Manager of this unit I manage several rentals in the area including beachside but Downtown demand has far exceeded beachside demand for a few years in a row now because you can still hit the beach for a few days but staying at Melbourne Harbor Condo offers you the option of walking to nearly everything else that you need. Locals walk our causeway each night and morning for a burst of exercise and there is always activity at the Marina. It is just a terrific place to come and stay for business or vacation.
