Description from manager

Villa Como is a majestic palace of 9 suites, an architectural gem with private access to the lake of Como. The guest house of the villa, made of Moltrasio stone and wood, has 4 bedrooms all with lake view.

A 5 star property that runs from the nearby village of Moltrasio all the way down to the lake's shore. Over the centuries, the villa has played host to musicians, artists, writers and statesmen including Napoleon Bonaparte, Vincenzo Bellini and Winston Churchill. The villa and its exquisite gardens are perfect for weddings, events or simply for a relaxing holiday.

This historical palace of the main villa was designed by the Swiss architect Felice Soave to have a simple symmetrical façade with a richly elaborate interior. The common spaces and the bedrooms are ornately decorated and painted. The floors are a beautiful mixture of Cotto Lombardo, Seminato, and dark antique wood.

Inside are neo-classical frescos by Andrea Appiani, including a remarkable Madonna with Child, dated 1790. In the halls, there are several paintings, sculptures, rugs, tapestries and Venetian chandeliers. All the bedrooms are filled with antique furniture and have en suite bathrooms.

The elegant rooms of the main villa are divided on three floors connected by a monumental staircase, decorated with a bronze by Auguste Rodin. The living room, with lowered vault supported by sixteen marble columns in the neoclassical style, is decorated with monochrome paintings of Albertolli Giocondo, who also painted some beautiful frescoes preserved in the music room where Bellini used to perform in front of friends.

The library contains three thousand volumes, including some rare books and valuable collections.

The Italian park surrounding the villa was built on terraces sloping down towards the lake. The garden is considered one of the most beautiful on the Lake Como.
