Even deep winter with its rainstorms offers sunny days perfect for hunting mushrooms and walking along the ocean (MacKerricher State park is only 2 miles away). There is fishing and whale watching at Noyo harbor, our world class Botanical gardens, and Mendocino village (15 miles south) offers fine dining and galleries. Reviews for this vacation cottage rental in Mendocino, California

We, an elderly couple, loved our peaceful month in the woods. I am disabled by a breathing problem but found good places to walk on beaches and in local parks. Found several excellent restaurants, including Cafe One, our favorite, serving only organic food and open for breakfast and lunch, We are both writers and spent part of each day writing. Enjoyed local galleries and the Mendocino Arts Center, where we saw an excellent Japanese inspired collection and a very good play. Our hosts could not have been better. Informative as needed but unintrusive. I am renewed in all spheres.

Very nice setting in the redwoods. Convenient to town and nearby beaches. Cabin was perfect and had all the amenities needed including wifi.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday in this cozy cottage. We loved the wood stove and homey feel. A great place to relax, read and unwind.

My hosts couldn't have been nicer. It's such a gorgeous place -- blissfully quiet and off-the-beaten-track, but a short drive to the beach. Redwoods right out the back door. Also has quick access to Mendecino. Lots to do. Wish I'd stayed longer. Clean, neat, yet artful. Thoughtful touches abound. I hope to get back next year.
We've had nothing but glowing responses from our guests. One wrote: "There are just so many things we loved about this cottage. The ART, the simple elegance of layout and furniture. The books. The surrounding redwoods... The tea and coffee we couldn't have done without. This is exactly the kind of experience that makes you want to move out of the city!"
