“Perfect Location for Dog Friendly Hiking Choices”

Reviewed 8 Dec 2016

We stayed at the cabin over Thanksgiving. The proximity to DeSoto State Park, Cloudland Canyon, Floyd parks was wonderful. We also spent a day in Chattanooga and went to see the Christmas light display at See Rock City. The cabin itself was on a road with only a handful of house and this made for easy and safe morning and evening walks. We couldn't ask for a better location and the views from the deck and house are exactly as described. Even in November, there was plenty of color left on the trees to enjoy the beauty.

“Beautiful place and quite”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2016

When I was arrived in I feel a little scary that's because is on the night, and everything is dark, but when I wake up in the morning the view is so beautiful and it has a two little waterfalls on the side of the cabin so me and my family love the place I hope we come back soon .

“quiet and relaxing”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2014

capt. julies mountain top home was just like the pictures. when we ( 4 adults and l dog) opened the door we were surprised at how roomy it was. the kitchen was large and had everything we needed. lots and lots of cabinet space. lots of pots and pans and utensils and dishes. there was a nice welcome basket with snacks, coffee and a bottle of wine. there was a huge dining table we always ate at. just like the pictures, the master bedroom was huge. the doors opened out to the deck. there were two more bedrooms upstairs plus a bath. our favorite place was the deck. it had a wonderful mountain view and was large also. we spent a lot of time out there. the house itself is secluded and quiet. very nice. completely relaxing. we couldn't believe the week had passed so quickly.

“Wonderful Getaway”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2014

My three sisters and I (from NC, KS, OH and MA) loved our week at this comfortable cabin with its spectacular views. The space lends itself well to various needs and uses and accommodated us and our dogs with ease. The cabin is nicely decorated with the comfort of the guests in mind. The living room is bright and airy, and the deck across the whole back of the house has three access points. Plastic wine glasses and over-sized towels were provided for the hot tub. There were plenty of high-quality linens provided for kitchen, bed and bath. We love to cook when we get together, and the kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable; the double oven was a plus. We greatly appreciated the rewards card provided for Ingles grocery store in Summerville; the wide selection there made the additional drive worthwhile. We chose this area to be able to hike with our dogs, and we loved the variety of trails and scenery at four nearby state parks. We all felt that we lucked out in finding this place and would not hesitate in recommending it to others.

Owner's reply: So glad when our guests tale advantage of all the beautiful state parks and all the many outdoor activities to be enjoyed. Captain Julie

We loved the whole place - especially the hot tub. Waterfalls around the area very stimulating and thehiking. Hope to go back again! Comfy beds, beautiful setting! Very private. Super!

Owner's reply: We are so lucky to have waterfalls on either side of the deck. Ridgetop is close to so many State Parks like Cloudland and De Soto.

“Great place!”

We were in the house over the Vereans Day week end. It was a great place! Well equipped for cooking. Comfortable for sleeping and hanging out! A great deck with a gas fireplace and hot tub. The view is awsome! If you go, be sure to check out Mentone, AL. A cute little town. We highly recommend it and will be back!

“Wonderful Getaway!”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2012

This cabin was great. The area was very quiet with an awesome scenic view. Very relaxing. We had a great time, and fell in love with the area, and took some nice walks down the wooded roads. It's a great getaway for peace and quiet. Thank you for your rental - such a wonderful place.

Owner's reply: The fact that Ridgetop is on a private road really does create a feeling of peace and quiet. Since the den opens to living area on the deck, the scenic view and nature around can be enjoyed inside and out. The northeast Ga. mountains and northeastern Al. have some of the most beautiful state parks to be enjoyed.

“Perfect Spot for Wife's 50th Birthday Celebration”

Reviewed 10 Feb 2012

We spent a couple nights in the cabin to celebrate my wife's birthday and she loved it!! the view was awesome and we were blessed with great weather for January. The house was comfortable and cozy at the same time; it was well-stocked in the kitchen and also had plenty of firewood for the Buckstove which was so nice. The back deck was large and the hot-tub was wonderful - yes, it is a good one. The decor in the house was nice and was interesting (lots of good books too...). The outdoor fire pit added a nice touch and help keep everyone warm too. And did I mention the view??? again, it was just awesome during the day and at night. Regarding functinality and the reservation and check-in process, everything was convenient and organized and no problems whatsoever. I have already told a number of friends about the place and sent the link; I would highly recommend booking a stay here. Very peaceful and serene and I am certain my wife and I will be back again soon. Barry Johnson
