love the view

August 22, 2015

Pulling up to the house was not much to be desired but once you step foot into the kitchen and saw the view...it was beautiful. Kitchen was decent nothing fancy. Our group has rented many houses and this was a first where there were no dish towels (it does say bring towels but none of us thought kitchen towels). No big deal we just bought a few. We enjoyed the kitchen and dining room being one big area. TV area was small but we didn't watch much anyway. I will say that sitting on plaid flannel type material in hot humid weather is definitely not enjoyable. The weather was beautiful...no rain except on our last day. One big issue we all had was it was extremely humid and the house had no a/c anywhere. Honestly this would be the number one reason why we wouldn't rent this house again. Most of us expected it to be cooler at night but that was far from the truth. There are four bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom that was obviously put on with the addition was very nice! Nice furniture and bedding. The other three bedrooms not so much. Very low ceilings, old carpet, and bedding that I wouldn't use. And zero air circulation even with every window open on the second floor. Bathrooms on first and second floor were very clean and shower/toilets looked new. Finished walk out basement was nice but we didn't spend anytime down there. Could use some updating. The best part of the house was the fact that we could walk outside and jump in the beautiful lake. Go paddle boarding, swimming, kayaking etc. One other reason we wouldn't end up renting this house again is we didn't have access to the laundry room in the house. Again we assumed we had washer/dryer but unfortunately we didn't. With 5 kids and active adults it would have been nice to do laundry and not do it all once you get home So my personal thoughts: if you are okay with no air conditioning or washer/dryer it is definitely a good house to rent. We would probably be able to deal with dirty clothes way before sweating as much as we did even after showering!!!
