Dishonest, shady business practices

After all informatoin, deposits, checking information, background check and rental charges were paid, we assumed we had a confirmed rental. One day before our departure, we received an email from Anjelica stating that she had not received our deposit, even though she had confirmed by email that she had received everything. She stated that she would check to see if anything else was available, but alas, we could never make contact with her. She never returned one phone call. At one point her voice mail was full, but then later it wasn't, so we know she was checking her voice mail, but just didn't give us the common courtesy of a return phone call. We had to scramble the day before our departure to find another place. It only leaves me with the assumption that she was able to rent it out to someone else for a higher rate than she quoted us.

This was an awesome vacation house. My family and I were on the beach with a bar, pool, club, all in the hotel. We canceled our hotel reservations last minute and we decided to go with the vacation rental. Everything was fine but once we returned they kept the deposit money, never bothered to call us back. You can't get into their office. Unless you don't mind them keeping 625 dollars extra, it's an awesome house.

I rented a property in Miami, FL March 23-28, 2006 for the sum of $3125 from R Group Investments. When I signed the contract, it clearly stated that there is a refundable security deposit of $1000. I paid the deposit. We had a huge Problem with getting the deposit back. THEY DID NOT GIVE IT BACK!!!! We paid $1,000 upfront cash in addition to the $3,125 for rent, and were expecting the deposit in 2 weeks, or a reasonable explanation for any deductions. Its been fourth months later, and we have not heard back from the rental company. Numerous calls and emails go unanswered, and when I get the receptionist, Nancy, she answers that she is just a peon and knows nothing and will forward the message to one of the people higher back. Great decor & finishes - from the furniture to the crystal chandeliers- five *'s if I was to rate it - everything was great! We will definately book again next year!
