Commonly called simply Downtown, the area is a cultural, financial, and commercial center of South Florida, tracing its present-day history back to the 19th century. In recent years, Downtown Miami has grown to become the fastest-growing area in Miami, with large scale high-rise construction and population increase. Downtown is home to many major museums, parks, schools and colleges, banks, companies, courthouses, government offices, theaters, shops and many of the oldest buildings in South Florida.
As of 2009, there are approximately 71,000 year-round residents in Downtown (including Downtown's Brickell, Park West, and Omni neighborhoods), with close to 200,000 residents living in the immediate Downtown area, making Downtown Miami one of the most populous downtowns in the U.S. after New York City and Chicago. With recent mass construction of high-rise residential buildings and office towers, Downtown has experienced large growth, with new shops, bars, parks, and restaurants opening up, attracting many new residents. Along with Brickell, Downtown has grown from 40,000 residents in 2000, to over 70,000 in 2009, making it one of the fastest-growing areas in Florida. It was estimated in February 2010, that about 550 new residents move to the Downtown area every month. As of 2009, over 190,000 office employees work in Downtown and Brickell.
Downtown is served by the Miami Metrorail at Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre, Government Center, and Brickell stations, accessible from Broward and Palm Beach counties via Tri-Rail transfer station. The Metro connects to the Downtown Metromover, which encompasses 22 stations on the clockwise Inner (or Downtown) loop and counterclockwise Brickell and Omni branch loops. Government Center station is Downtown's main station and allows for transfers to all Metromover loops, Metrorail trains, and Metrobus lines at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center.

Some glitches-checking in on a Holiday and reaching needed person for key and how to enter building was briefly problematic... The condo was okay view was great. Building access parking and elevators work on sensor which never seemed to work. Front desk and security very receptive to helping us get in and out. It just felt awkward to ask to get out or in. Location was great! Hot water in the shower would have been nice. The pool, hot tub and area around was very well maintained and highly enjoyable! Would we stay again? Sure we would.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this incredibly spacious 1 bedroom unit on the 54th floor and we were blown away!! The building is located in the heart of downtown Miami across the street from Bayside Marketplace and the American Airlines Arena (where we attended a concert) and was easily accessible to anywhere we went.....Brickell, South Beach, Coconut Grove, everywhere. We had our own assigned parking spot in the secured garage (saved a lot of money there) and were able to use all of this gorgeous building's amenities.....and let me tell you, the amenities were as nice as any 5-star hotel I have ever stayed in. Superb!! The folks at Sunnyside Retreats (the company that manages the property) were fantastic....they were there to meet us when we arrived and every thing went seemless. Great restaurants in the immediate area.....made dining at night easy when we didn't feel like driving....and the views from Bayfront Park made a stroll very pleasant even during the hot Miami Summer. And, lastly, I can't even describe how breathtaking the views from the units 54th floor balcony were. I will be renting this unit on EVERY VISIT I make to Miami in the future. The value was exceptional and it really made our stay in Miami great. Thanks to the team at Sunnyside Retreats and take it from me, book it for yourself....you won't be disappointed!!

I did a Miami rental stay for the 4th of July weekend at 50 Biscayne Blvd, Unit #5401. I truly have say that I had an incredible and awesome time staying at the Unit. The view was truly breathtaking, especially when night time was coming in. The unit was paradise, my girlfriend and I really didn't need to go out to eat dinner or breakfast (*I cooked and we sat out and enjoyed the terrace). All in All, it was a great time - we had no problem walking across the street to watching the fireworks, or enjoying walking to the downtown shopping area or driving to Brickell. In closing, excellent amenities and ambiance at 50 Biscayne Blvd, Unit #5405.

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I'm already booked to come back in 6 months. This is one of the nicest buildings I have ever stayed at - the view is absolutely stunning. The unit itself is incredibly clean and spacious with all the things you need (towels, toilet paper, soap, etc.). Right downstairs there are tons of eating areas and a short walk (across the street) to all the stores, shops and restaurants in Bayside. CVS, Walgreen's and 7/11 are all within a block of the place. Honestly I would recommend this place to anyone. I stay here for my MBA workshops and we do group work at the apartment and already the other students want to book at this place too! The pictures and information on this property don't even do it justice! 10/10.

Perfect Location, Perfect View, Perfect Host, Perfect Perfect studio. A little problem with parking however it was resolved overall I had a wonderful stay and would recommend to everyone.

Appt with great views and amenities. Appt was immaculate and has new furniture. Top floor with great views to downtown. Pool has views to the bay. Appt is well located closed to the highway that goes to Miami Beach. Mgmt is friendly and responsive. I will continue doing business with Carlos.

This penthouse was spectacular. Me and 4 other friends stayed in this lovely place for 7 days. It's on the 25th floor and the view is wonderful. Carlos (the property manager) is wonderful. He is available for extra questioning and answers his phone every time!!! He is very professional and courteous. There are many shopping places around the building, so finding food or necessities are just around the corner. The pizza place across the street has wonderful food and they deliver if you don't want to walk. Just remember to bring your paper towels and toilet paper (as you are renting someone's home). We obviously forgot. The building has 24hour security, whom are very friendly. But don't forget your key to enter the building!! You will encounter some difficulty getting in, which is a good thing if you think about safety!! The pool was under renovations, which was a downside, but overall we loved the home. Miami beach is about 10-15minute drive. Expect traffic. That could increase your drive by 30mins. If you plan on drinking a lot, have a designated driver or take a taxi. I am not sure the taxi fare as we drove every where. Have a GPS accessible. The neighbors and locals are nice and friendly and the spanish cafe in the building has the BEST empanadas ever!!! I would definitely recommend this penthouse. It's not too expensive and has all the right things you need for the right price! I loved it there. Thank you Carlos and I will definitely stay here again if I make another trip to MIAMI.

+ : The apartment is well located in Brickell area / downtown Miami. Residential parking rate with valet make it really easy. Facing the ocean. Landlord really helpfull. - : Cookware are minimal
