“Great house for getting big family together”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2014

Great big house very close to the beach! The beach was not crowed--ever, it was wonderful. We also got a permit from the local police station (very nearby) to have a campfire on the beach, which was a new experience that everyone loved. The house really has 6 areas to sleep with 2 being in the basement area (main room(with 1 bed) with room off of it that has 4 beds) plus a bed on the screened in porch! Worked great with our family of 15, everyone has their own space. Tons of linens, kitchen towels, bath towels, and beach towels provided. Kitchen was very well stocked and made it easy to have home cooked meals for a large group. Puzzles and games are in the living room which everyone enjoyed. The electric golf cart was wonderful for getting the family to the park where the little ones enjoyed the playground and the others played volleyball and basketball. We also took rides around Grand Beach to see the neat houses in the area! We loved the town just north, New Buffalo, lots of little shops and great local places to eat. Also nearby is Warren State Park with the huge sand dunes, Blue Chip casino, wineries, lighthouses, areas to fish, and more. Recommend this house for sure! We had a great time at this house and would rent again.

“50th Wedding Anniversary celebration”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2013

On July 5, our family of 13 arrived at Chat-A-While in Grand Beach to celebrate our parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We had no idea what to expect. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised. The house was absolutely AWESOME! It was very spacious, clean, and felt like home immediately. The house was very well furnished with kitchen items, bath towels, puzzles, games, crafts, and other fun things for entertainment.. We loved the screened-in-deck. There was always someone sitting out there. We had a great UNO game going one evening. The layout of the bedrooms worked perfect for our group. My sister and her husband with their 2 young children slept in the basement bedroom and were thrilled to have their own space and bathroom. The best part of the whole trip was how close the rental was to the beach. That was wonderful! That combined with the golf cart made trips to the beach a breeze. The owner always answered any questions we had promptly, which was very nice, also. The older kids were very happy to have wifi. We parents were very happy to have a lifeguard on duty each day. Our evenings were fun, with campfires on the beach. The very short walk to the beach also made it very convenient to catch the sunsets in the evening. The location, the whole setup was perfect. It is nice to know that there is a very nice home to come back to, the next time we vacation in "Pure Michigan."

“Summer vacation”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2012

A great way to end our summer. Family vacation which included all ages from 55 to 7 months old. The house was extremely comfortable and the dining area was so large we all were able to eat meals together. Just half block from the beach. Use of the golf was great also. Beautiful private beach area. Quite area in the evening. Great please to stay.

Owner's reply: Great to hear, thank you. As renters, you were wonderful to deal with.

“Enough room for everyone!”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2012

This house was a great vacation home for the week. We had 14 people in our family stay all together in this home and there was plenty of room for everyone. We had people ages 2-62 and everyone could move around the house unassisted easily. The walk to the stairs down to the beach was quick. The only time we used the golf cart provided was to haul our chairs and cooler to the beach. The beach was beautiful and had only a few people on it the week we stayed. There is a lifeguard on duty too which made us adults feel safer with the little ones in the water. The initial steps into the lake had rocks so I would recommend packing water shoes. The house provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We grilled every night except for one when we ordered pizza from a local business. The house has plenty of beds for people to sleep. But depending on the number of families you have, some might have to share the room downstairs which had five beds in it. The owner was wonderful to work with. He promptly answered all questions prior to and during our vacation. Overall, this vacation was a great experience that our family will not forget!

“Great House!”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2012

this house was great for our family get together...we had four families represented...with people from 75 to 1 years old....the large living room area and the screened porch were the favorite gathering areas. The downstairs bedroom and bath worked out great for my sister's family with the smaller children... The golf cart was great for going to the park and driving around the neighborhood. The beach access, less than two blocks away, was very convenient...there are 31 steps down to the beach, but good handrails and benches located halfway down made the walk fairly easy. The kitchen is very well stocked...we had no problem preparing meals for 15-20 people. Plenty of bed linens and towels available. The owners were very easy to work with. Our family would definitely recommend this house for a vacation! Wish we could have stayed longer!

“Very Roomy”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2012

This is a very nice large home. Third bathroom and several beds in basement, which is not as nice as rest of house, but would be okay for not-so-picky kids. Fully stocked kitchen. VERY nice area to walk and drive around golf cart. Prepare for about 50 steps down to private beach, or drive to public beach.

“Great Experience”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2010

Group of professional women stayed at this home for 11 days in June. Owner was easy to work with. Home was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful large living/dining area and several bathrooms. We took advantage of the decks, and the enclosed porch. Loved the short walk to the beach. Would like to return again.

“great family location”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2010

We had a wonderful week. We could have used 1 more bedroom but we all loved the house and area so much that we will try to rent again next year and just adjust to less bedrooms despite our growong family.
