Description of the Monmouth vacation cabin rental
Our beautiful cabin sits right on Lake Cochnewagon in Monmouth, ME. With over 1,500 sq.ft. it offers 3 bedrooms (sleeping 7), several couches, which offers sleeping space for more. We have a full bathroom, full eat-in kitchen, wood stove, and washer/dryer. On the lakeside, we have a large indoor porch as well as an outdoor one, perfect spot for you to watch the sunrise with your morning coffee, or watch the sun set with a tasty drink. Outside, a large grassy lawn offers a great space for games; the dock is perfect for fishing or jumping into the refreshing water; a raft where you can catch some of that warm summer sun; and of course, a grill for some burgers. The driveway easily fits 5 cars. The perfect place to come relax, enjoy the peaceful water, calls of the loons, and smell of pine trees.
We also rent the cabin in the fall, winter, and spring. We have electricity, running water, and a wood stove. Lake Cochnewagon is popular for ice fishing and is surrounded by trails for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing!

This lake house was perfect. All the stuff you need, just bring clothes and food!!! Our 4 children had a blast swimming and fishing and playing on the rope swing. Good communication with the owners!!! Overall a great experience we will be visiting again next year for sure!

Swimming from the dock & float was great. Fished from the dock. Lots of play area for the grandchildren. We had coffee on the porch every morning and enjoyed the lake view and Loons. The children like to watch the train go by. Had WiFi (Great)

The property was exactly as represented in the photos. It is right on the water, and there is more than enough room inside and out. The three bedrooms were adequate sized, to above adequate. It slept 7 adult males easily, with room to spare. The yard was uniquely large for a property this close to the water, and there were enough stores close that we didn't have to venture too far for food and supplies. The fire pit was great, as were the dock, and floating dock. There is a boat launch just a few hundred feet away, and the water was a refreshing but comfortable temperature. The road swing was fun, and Patti was responsive and easy to work with. It a great place for the family, and I'd recommend it to anyone that loves being on a lake. If there was a downside, it was that one neighbor was a little nosy, but he was polite and helpful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How close are you from the water?
A: Our camp sits about 15 feet off the water. We are the last camp on the road, so we have plenty of water access and privacy.
Q: Are you near a major town or city?
A: We are 25 minutes from Augusta, which has plenty of shopping, concerts, movie theaters, etc to go explore. We are also 45 minutes from Freeport, a great shopping place; around an hour from Portland which also has great concerts, shopping, and night life. Maine is full of great towns to explore and always worth the drive!
Q: Can I bring my dog with me?
A: Yes! We welcome pets, but charge an extra $100 damage deposit, totaling $300. You will receive the $300 deposit back within 10 days of your stay, as long as there has been no damage of course!
