Description from owner

Relax in a warmly and attractively remodeled air conditioned cottage with a large deck on Lake Michigan. Great kitchen to work and visit in while preparing meals. Open to a comfortable great room. New, high quality beds. Located in a quiet country setting - Lake Michigan to the west, and farmland to the east. Beautiful lot includes numerous wild flowers and some old-growth forest. Cross a wild ravine over a wooden foot-bridge to a breathtaking view of the Lake. The well-built stairway with 70 steps to the beach includes a large observation deck half way down with benches built in. Wonderful spot to enjoy sunsets over the lake through the trees, or curl up and read your vacation novel. Sandy beach offers relaxing sunbathing, opportunity to play in the waves, or long, peaceful shoreline walks. Stairway and 140 feet of beach frontage are shared with one other cottage. Charter fishing on Lake Michigan at nearby ports. Great fruits/veggies in area farms in season. Go berry picking!

This is our retirement home.: We look for renters who treat the cottage as their home.

Beds: 1 Queen Bed, 1 Double Bed, 2 Twin Beds

“Lake Michigan House”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2016

My family rented this cottage in August 2016. It was everything we had hoped for. It was nice to have your own beach as as usual, Lake Michigan does not disappoint. The water is clear as clear can be, sand everywhere, and the kids loved the waves (better then many spots on the Atlantic Ocean. As for the cabin it was a perfect size for our 4 person family (you could fit 1 or 2 more kids), The interior looked like it was recently remodeled and the price for the cabin was great. Typically is hard to find a place right on Lake MI that is rented for a family of four. Most of the places on Lake MI are big and require 3 or 4 families to afford the rental payment. This place is perfect for a single family. The location of the property is great as it was 30 minutes from the silver lake dunes, 20 minutes from MI Adventure, and 20 minutes from canoeing. Also Whitehall has a nice brewery and decent restaurants. The property management was great as well. They answered emails quickly and made sure our stay was great. Hope to stay there again in the future

Owner's reply: Thanks Kyle, We're glad to see others enjoy it as much as we do. Don & Sue

“Quiet Paradise”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2015

We stayed here with a family of 5. It worked perfectly because the three girls could all be in their bedroom, each with their own bed, and my wife an I had our own queen bed in our room. The living room and kitchen are nicely appointed with leather couch and chairs and stools at the bar. The lake water is viewable from the house, and with a short walk to the bluff and down the stairs you have a wonderful private beach with sea grass nearby . It was great to go down in the morning and read next to the water and be completely alone. Walking along the shore or along beautiful country roads offers some easy exercise opportunities. The owners Don and Sue are quite helpful and take great care of their house. This is an excellent place to get away from it all and enjoy some Pure Michigan.
