About the area

Conroy Lake is one of the deepest lakes in Maine at 126 feet. It is about 25 acres of peaceful serenity. We have resident loons, as well as other water fowl. A pine plantation surrounds the lake with hiking and recreational trails. Surrounding area is close to golf, hiking, and local festivals. Fall and hunting season are a perfect time to enjoy this beautiful area. Monticello is a small town where people will remember your name even after a week!

“Lake view cabin”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2016

Perfect for extended family! We brought our doggies and they enjoyed walking in the woods. We took them out in the paddle boat. Our Son-In-Law took our grandson out in the canoe. They went fishing, but didn't catch anything. So relaxing for everyone. The grandkids enjoyed pool, ping pong and foosball. Just up the road is the Blue Moose where we ate a yummy lunch. We would definetly stay here again. The owners are so nice and accommodating. All you need is your clothes, tooth brush and food. Carrie, the owner, provides: soaps, shampoo, hair dryer, coffee pot, linens and lots of extras in kitchen like coffee pot filters, paper towels, salt, pepper and paper plates. Another good place to eat in Linneus, Grammy's, about 15 minute drive toward Houlton.

“The Special Spot”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2016

I remember as a child, our parents used to take us to a camp not far from home, and the excitement it brought was never-ending. Now we do the same with our children. The closer we got to driving there, the bigger the smiles! Again, not too far from home; a home away from home. Cari-Ann provides all you need in the two wonderful vacation rentals- (we've rented both- this one being our favorite!) The entire downstairs is a game-room for children and adults. There wasn't a second my kids said "mom, we're bored". Pool, Foosball, their fave- ping-pong AND A SUPER NINTENDO!! The upstairs is designed as an open floor (which I love), perfect for keeping an eye on dinner while catching an episode of Greys Anatomy! We consider this a special family spot and have already booked a Fall trip mid-September! I know those that go will feel likewise.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much Marian! It makes my heart happy to know how much you all enjoy coming to camp!! We look forward to seeing you all in September and for many years to come :)

“Awesome 4-Wheeling Trip and Lakeside Relaxation”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2016

I have been coming to Northern Maine 4-wheeling with my son for years and have always had a good time, but this year we tried something different and thought we would rent a cabin on a lake. I found the camp on Conroy Lake and thought we would give it a try. From the time I made the initial contact with the owner Cari Ann, I new it was going to be a great trip. The cabin was all ready for us with lights on and a little fireplace heat to knock off the chill of the rainy day. Cari made sure we had all we needed. The cabin was beautiful with all of the modern conveniences of home. She even checked in on us daily to make sure all was well. We are anxious to plan our next trip there. Five stars all the way!!!

“Too Perfect for Words!”

Gorgeous apartment! Loved the knotty pine walls and ceilings. Spacious, well equipped will all conveniences, charming decor and very clean. Lots of sunlight in the living area - large picture windows and sliding glass door to the patio which overlooks the lake (where the view of the sunset is spectacular). Pleasantly dark and cozy, comfortable bedrooms. We all slept like babies, refreshed each day for more adventure. The lake is MAGICAL. No noisy motorboats or jet-skis to disturb the peace or overpower the calling of loons and forest birds. Unless there's a very strong wind, the water is like a mirror, reflecting the trees, the sun, and the moon. Wonderful for swimming, large enough for kayaking, paddleboating or canoeing, yet small enough for our young teenagers to do so in safety. From our chairs on the shore, we could see them clearly no matter where they were. On rainy days, they could watch movies, play video games, ping-pong, billiards, foosball, or beanbag toss in the rec-room downstairs. The small office area provided a great space for my sister-in-law to study for exams. The facilities allowed me to cook for a fairly large dinner party, but we were also very close to the famous Blue Moose restaurant and a short drive to grocery stores and Houlton Dairy Farms Ice Cream Stand. Great trails for hiking and safe, scenic bicycling routes. Our hosts, Carrie and John, were wonderful and always available if we had any questions. The guests at the second property nearby told us they come every year for family reunions and feel like it's their own special home away from home. I know what they mean. When it was time to leave, I almost had to be dragged away by my ankles.

Owner's reply: Wow! Thank you so much for the beautiful review! We work hard to make everyone's stay enjoyable and appreciate you choosing our place! Thank you for coming and we hope to see you all again☺

“Summer Vacation”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2015

Cari and Jon were wonderful! The place was perfect. My son was so happy to have his own room and all the beds were so comfortable. Our dog was so happy to walk the trails and play in the water. My husband was on a working vacation and was able to utilize the small office area. It was exactly what he needed. We live in the city and it was awesome to get away from all the noise and just enjoy peace and quiet. The cottage was cozy and it was supplied with everything we needed. The Rec area was great with the teens and kids. Our nieces visited to and it gave them a place to socialize. Then they all enjoyed using the paddle boats to go swimming. It was only 20 minutes away from Houlton to visit family and friends. I'm already planning our vacation for next year. I'm so thankful that were able to find such a nice place! Thank you Cari and Jon!

Owner's reply: Thank you Melissa, John and James! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! It was great meeting you, we look forward to seeing you next year!!

“Great getaway”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2014

We had five adults and three children on an ATV weekend. This cabin was in a great location and made for a beautifully relaxing place to stay after a day of riding. Cari and John were great host and the cabin had all the amenities you could ask for.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the review Art! It looked like you all had a great time see you again :)

“Best rental we've ever had!”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2012

This was a long drive for us, 14 hours to be exact, but it was worth every mile! The house is quiet, the activities in the garage perfect for keeping the family occupied on a rainy day or in the evenings, and the fire pit & horseshoes are a great day to wind down the day. Inside, the house was immaculate, well kept, and well stocked with just about anything we needed. Cari was right when she said to just bring clothes and food. If we make the trek back to Maine again, this is the first and only call we'll make for a place to stay!

Owner's reply: Thanks so much Jered! It was great to meet you all! Looking forward to your next visit:))

“Fantastic place!”

We had a wonderful time in the Drew's beautiful lake front cabin. It had everything we could possibly need and the downstairs game room was huge! Highly recommend this rental.

“Awesome Place!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2012

What a amazing place! Cari and Jon a great people. When they say they have everyuthing there it's true! Located close enough to town for anything you need but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. Riding ATV's Straight from the house was great. The only thing that could have made it any better was if the rain stopped. Will be putting this place on our list to return to. Thank you Cari and Jon!
