About the area

Monument Beach is a village in Bourne, Massachusetts, on the upper portion of Cape Cod. It's ideally situated avoiding much of the traffic that tends to bottleneck other areas on Cape. Our quiet village roads greet you with stunning vistas and quaint peacefulness that characterize a "Cape escape." As soon as you come over the Bourne Bridge, you will ease onto a back road -- your destination is just a mile or so away! Our town features several beaches (both ocean and harbor sides). We are conveniently located just steps from Monument Beach and Phineas Harbor. A second beach (still Monument Beach) offers little ones a play area with swings n slides, ball field, tennis courts ~ we call "the swing beach". Across the street ( and just down the hill ) is "The WHISTLE STOP Ice Cream shop a must destination! Our Post Office, a bakery, sub n pizza shop and brand new Cumberland Farms are all right there too! Golf enthusiasts must visit Brook Side Club and tee off with breathtaking ocean views!! The club's Sunset Grill is fabulous -dining with spectacular "sun sets" over Buzzards Bay. Yes... the infamous Chart Room and Lobster Trap are nearby as well. The Cape Cod Canal offers endless opportunity to every member of the family. Bike, walk, boat tours, picnic, train excursions and of course the best FISHING! Exciting !! New Cape Flyer train is now running! Bring your bikes along train or boat! Martha's Vineyard ferries are minutes away!! Shuttle service of course! The surrounding area to home is a quaint, quiet, serene residential setting. However, the excitement of shopping, dining, sightseeing, are minutes away. Where do you want to go? We are 5th generation life long Cape Codders! Let us help you make the most of your vacation.

Getting around

You may want to bring your bicycle to travel our many bike paths and explore the beaches all around the Cape. Remember a day trip to either Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket are only minutes away by cruising on Island Queen or Steam Ship Authority. Also, a small airport is located in Hyannis for trips to the islands as well. Take your shoes off and enjoy a real Cape Cod walk to our beach......bike ride or FREE street side parking another idea.

Getting here

Please don't hesitate to call us for easy directions to your Guest House. Remember you have reached Cape Cod once crossing either Bourne or Sagamore Bridge. We are gently tucked away in a quiet residential area on upper Cape. If you are looking for peace and tranquility this is it....take your shoes off and walk to our beach......memories are forever!

“Lovely home!”

Truly a lovely home with incredibly attentive and conscientious hosts! The home and yard are absolutely immaculate. We have stayed 2 years in a row and would not hesitate to return. Loved our stay!

“Cape Cod Baseball League Visit”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2016

My wife and I visited the Cape to watch our grandson play in the Cape Cod Baseball League and to do some sightseeing in the area. We stayed at this property from June 28 to July 7th, 2016. The property is immaculately kept and the owners are the most gracious and accommodating people my wife and I have ever met during our travels. From the warmth and comfort of their home to their very welcoming personalities, Kim and Terry Enos touched our hearts such that we have even invited them to come to Louisiana for a visit and stay with us in our home. The property contains everything that you would expect to have in your own home and it is located on a quiet street that is very close to the Cape Cod canal and beaches. It is also close to good restaurants or to grocery stores if you perfer to cook in for some of your meals. The property also has wi-fi. Without a doubt, this was one of the most pleasurable trips we have ever taken and the comfort and amenities of the property will help you to feel as comfortable as if you were in your own home. If you're looking to spend some time on Cape Cod, we highly recommend checking into this property. You won't have any regrets.

Attentive, responsive, warm and engaging! We had a fabulous time and our hosts added so much to the experience! Highly recommend it! They made us and our children feel so welcome with special beach toys and suggestions of what to do and where.

“A hidden gem with warm hospitality”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2014

We stayed at this property during the July 4th holiday week and we loved the warm hospitality and thoughtfulness of the owners. They provided so many amenities, such as fresh bed linens, bath towels, beach towels and chairs too. There were plenty of kitchen supplies, including paper towels, wash cloths and cooking utensils for preparing simple meals for my small kids. This is clearly not just an "empty" guest house, the owners take pride in maintaining the house in top condition. The cleanliness of the house and the front yard is as welcoming as a bed and breakfast property. The owner, Ms. Kim is a real delight and she even sent us information from the Chamber of Commerce beforehand to help us plan our itinerary. We had more fun on this trip than our vacations to Sanibel Island or the Bahamas since there was so much to do and see. This property was well suited for our family with two small kids. There's a very personalized touch when you're staying here and the owners are focused on creating an exceptional experience for their guests. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who's considering a private house on Cape Cod. Also, since it's at the start of the Cape there's virtually no traffic issues. It was very easy to get to Falmouth and Hyannis from here (Bourne).

“Beautiful, homey and wonderful hosts!”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2013

From the first e-mail contact I knew this was the right place for my family of five. Kim and Terry have a beautiful and comfortable place for their guests which is stocked with everything one needs. They are genuinely friendly and always there to help with questions we had. We had a great week on the Cape. There's a beach within walking distance and another about 10 min away that was really good for swimming. I would highly recommend the Cape Bay Inn!

“Home away from home”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2011

From the first meeting with Kim and Terry, the Innkeepers, the feeling was "this is going to be great fun", and it was. The accomodations are fantastic. From the moment you walk in the front door, you can feel the cozy, comfy vibe that will set the mood for your entire stay. We had a ball, especially when the little baker elf would leave surprises at our front door. Can't say enough about Kim and Terry, their warmth, their friendliness, how quickly they make you feel at home. Thanks for a most memorable vacation!! ML, B, M and K

“Great place! Wonderful people!”

Our family loved the house! Great location, very clean and homy. The inn keepers are very warm and comforting. Kim backed us baronies and other baking goods almost every day. The area is very private and not your typical tourist area. We would recommend it highly.

Such a unique and very special place! Kim and Terry make sure your every need is met. The home made goodies and surprise treats are something you won't find in other rentals. The house is absolutely spotless clean. The beds are all made up SO pretty , so you don't need to bring your sheets OR towels! There is air conditioning but we didn't need it, the sea breeze was better! The bathrooms have loads of towels, beach towels too. The kitchen has cathedral ceiling with everything you need except an oven. Kim said if we wanted anything baked she'd be happy to do it for us. Oh and the trash is picked up for you each day so you don't have to worry about what to do with it all week. There are 2 big flat screen TV's. VERY COOL that you can close off the door to little family room. There's a little bathroom in there and a new sofa bed, so you could use that as a downstairs bedroom. 3 bedrooms upstairs and anther bathroom. My kids LOVED the OUTSIDE shower!!! There is a gazebo outside with grills and outside shower next to it. We had a ball out there! We loved their beach! There are actually 2 beaches to walk to. We came to the Cape to get away from traffic and flocks of people......and their beaches give you that. One beach has swings and a play gym right on beach, and tennis courts, and you can get an ice cream too.
We had such a good time and recommend this place very much.

August 2012 has been the best of our summer! Oh how lucky we were to find this wonderful house, hosts and spot on Cape Cod!!
Our kids cried all the way home they loved Kim so much and her cookies! Terry fishes the canal and gave us fresh bass! They prepared it perfectly and cooked it on the grill, it was amazing!
They live next door so can be over to help you if you need any.
The house is perfect! 3 bedrooms upstairs, a bright open kitchen and dining with just what you need, even a big flat screen tv. Another room downstairs with big tv and bathroom goes out to deck and then to the gazeb. There's badminton and beach chairs to walk down to beach. There's free wireless internet so we could use our tablets and lap tops. We had so much fun and highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a very special vacation.

We stayed here when we attended a wedding on the Cape. We were amazed with all the little extras this house has. It's much more than just renting a house. We had a lot of things needing ironing for the wedding. I went next door to ask Kim to borrow an iron, and she ended up ironing all our clothes! (there is an iron in the house we just didn't see it) Everything is close by and the beach is great! No crowds and free. You walk down the hill to the beach, they have chairs and towels for you to borrow. My friends and I walked all around the island near the beach, it was great fun. We even dug some clams and Kim cooked them for us!
The canal is near by. We rode our bikes all the way to the other end and had a nice lunch at Seafood Sam's. The canal is awesome. Sooo much to see and do....we are coming back to stay longer. The ferry to Martha's Vineyard is nearby too.
