“Fabulous getaway from rat race!!!”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2014

After a fabulous US West coast road trip and a few days in the enjoyable bustle of Vancouver my Wife and I were ready for a good few days in a secluded cabin away from it all. My wife had always wanted to stay in a log cabin by a lake. That picture postcard image we all know. However, we were not expecting it to be SOOOO picture was AWESOME!!! The cabin is brilliantly tucked away, on it's own land, and has everything you need for a week or more, to get totally away from the rat race. It was clean, very comfortable, and had all the facilities that you have at home but would not necessarily expect in a log cabin. The open plan and homely decor gives the cabin a very traditional feel. It has a great stove, kitchen, bathroom and fab sleeping balcony. Great use of large windows allows natural light in, and no matter what the weather outside, it was always homely and cosy inside. Location is superb, with Pemberton so close (and having everything you need), and lakes, glaciers, and numerous walks all to hand. The creek just below the cabin is something to see and so close, and the beach down on the lake looks like from another time and age with its washed up and bleached trees and branches. Joffre Lakes is a must and Matier Glacier at the top lake is out of this world. We were speechless when we saw the cabin at is quite a sight as you drive up and around the corner and see it in front of you. As the days went on we relaxed so much we didn't do anything for 4 days apart from sit outside, read, bbq, admire the view, then in the evening get the stove burning and watch a dvd. If you are looking for that true 'drop out of society' getaway then this place is where you need to go. We had met the owner in Vancouver prior to arriving and found him to be a very genuine and very helpful chap, offering to be on the end of a phone call whenever required. We had a fantastic stay here. Without doubt we would stay here again. Perhaps it needs a name...............'Cinnamon Cabin', as we were told that Cinnamon bears roam around the woods. It has everything else. Totally......utterly.......without hesitation recommend this cabin.

“Awesome time in Pemberton!”

Dear Scott and Stacy, We really enjoyed our visit, and your cabin made us feel right out home! Our kids had a great time, and so did we. It was very relaxing, and we loved being "away from it all", as that is how we live here in Oregon. The only down side was navigating our 26 ft. snowmobile trailer in and out of the driveway, and getting it turned around. Next time we know NOT to park it on the upper level, but even the lower level proved a challenge! :) We definately will want to book again for next March! We had such a great time snowmobiling or "ski-dooing" as we found the locals to say, that we will be making this an annual adventure! Thanks again so much!

“The nicest cabin”

My sister and I and a few of her friends stayed at the cabin for a relaxing stagette weekend. It was more than I could have ever hoped for! The cabin has everything you need to make you feel comfortable and at home. The only thing I questioned about our stay was if i was supposed to clean the cabin once we left and where put our garbage bags and towels. I ended up just cleaning the cabin and leaving it how we found it, and bringing our garbage with us. The view from the cabin was beautiful! I will definitely be back in the summer! Thank you very much for sharing such a beautiful cabin with us Scott and for being so helpful with accommodating the group and suggesting activities to make the weekend perfect!

Owner's reply: Hi Becky, Thanks very much for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks also for leaving the place so clean, next time we'll manage the garbage and cleaning for you! Please come back any time. It's always nice to have great guests. Scott.

we had a great experience at this cabin. very well maintained and the owners are very friendly. it is secluded in the woods, a very large property so u do not hear the nieghbors around u. we brought our dog with us and he had a great time running around and the yard is so big he could be off leash and we did not have to worry about anything. i would recommend this cabin to anyone with a family or a couple looking for a nice place to rent. all the beds are in one spot in a loft so would not recommend to rent if u are looking for seperate bedrooms in the cabin. only 30 min away from whistler and other great places around the whistler area. i would rent this cabin again!

Owner's reply: Hi Kelly, Thanks for your review. A great explanation of the property which will help others decide if it's right for them! Cheers, Scott.

We loved staying in the roomy, clean, new cabin in the bush. The owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The setting looks over Lillooet Lake and mountains. The cabin is only 10 minutes from Pemberton and a quiet place. We will be back soon.

Owner's reply: Hi Thor, Thanks very much for your review! Please bring back your cute little dog anytime...probably not so little anymore. Cheers, Scott.
