This house was a great place to stay. It was very clean and easy to access from all paved roads. The neighborhood was very inviting. Everything we could have needed was here in addition to other thoughtful extras and beautiful decorating touches. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
“Comfortable and cozy.”
We enjoyed our stay in the Murphy cabin. It was comfortable and cozy and the fireplace was fabulous! It adjusted to the temperature in the house and turned itself on and off as needed. It certainly added warmth and coziness to our stay.
“Great time at Hummingbird Hill”
Perfect place for relaxing and getting over the stress of Atlanta traffic/road construction. We love this place and we are close to friends on Rockridge Rd. Beautiful clean cabin with everything you need. Eight days and got there just in time to see the leaves start to change (a couple of thirty degree nights helped). Always hate to leave N.C. Back to the heat of Florida and the I-4 mess in Orlando. Word of advice - during leaf peeper season be prepared for heavy traffic going to Pigeon Forge. Then again, the visit to The Island attraction was fun and we saw moma bear with her cubs and elk on the way back to Murphy.
“A wonderful vacation spot!”
This is a place for a fun and memorable vacation. The owner supplied all the necessitates for cooking, cleaning, washing, and bedding. It was neatly decorated inside and out. It had a very homey feel to it. We enjoyed looking at the wildlife outside while sitting in the rocking chairs. We saw a lot of deer, hummingbirds, and squirrels close by. We also enjoyed the walks up the hill on the same street. There are a lot of fun outdoor activities for everyone too. Some of them being waterfalls, lakes, white water rafting, zip lining, and flea markets. If you are a fan of fudge, like we are, there is a great fudge shop about an hour away in Highlands. We also enjoyed getting fresh fruit and vegetables at Decker's Flea Market. Overall, I highly recommend this cabin to friends and family. - The Hurley family
Owner's reply: Thanks to the Hurleys for the great review!
My son, my cousin and myself stayed here while we visited family in the area. The house had everything we needed (three men) and made us feel very welcome. We were even able to grill a dinner for my brother. Really recomend this house to all.
Owner's reply: Thanks to these guys for the great review!! I'm so glad they enjoyed it!
“Great value for the money”
This cabin is so clean and comfortable. . a bit far from things we wanted to do, but it is a great cabin that we hope to stay again and again. We will bring our bikes and kayak next time which will allow us more activities close to the cabin.
Owner's reply: I'm so glad these renters loved my cabin. There are many activities within about an hour's drive from my cabin. Many people go off and have day trips, then return to the comfort of a very nice place to relax. I appreciate the review!
“Chillin in the Mntns”
The cabin was just a great place to stay. It is centrally located for daytime travels to the Smokies or the Blue Ridge Mnts in N GA. We trailered the motorcycles up and had good weather except for one day of rain. The road is paved up to the driveway then there is an uphill climb about 30ft on gravel getting you up to the flat parking area around the cabin. I would not recommend for the novice or faint of heart for the entry and exit for motorcycles. The cabin was well stocked with about everything needed, no cell phone service for my Att phone but my dad had Verizon and had no problem calling out. For some reason we never could get hooked into the wifi and we tried to call on the landline a couple times to local restaurants but could not get a connection. Beautiful area where the cabin is, well kept up community and the county roads and right of ways also kept up. Nice yogurt shop in Murphy where you can build your own dessert and Brothers Restaurant also pretty good, if you try them on the wknd prepare for a wait as everyone else knows about the great food and reasonable prices. Would recommend anyone looking to stay in this area to give Lana a call and book your stay, very nice cabin and great location!!
My sister and I stayed in Lana's beautiful chalet over Thanksgiving and vowed to return. So we came back in July to experience it in a different season. The trees are so majestic and they make the chalet feel so private and sheltered. The chalet is so warm and inviting and comfortable -- good beds, nice furniture, well stocked kitchen, big TV and nice new grill. But the thing we enjoyed the most was the peaceful, quiet time in a lovely part of the country. Thank you, Lana!
Owner's reply: Everyone seems to love my chalet and I'm very thankful for the great reviews. Making my guests feel at home was and is my goal. Thanks to Janet and Ruthann for this review!
“Great Motorcycle Trip”
Lana, what a great place. Thanks! Me and my two buddies had a blast staying at your place. Water pressure was incredible. Wished we could have stayed long. We will certainly be calling again. Thanks from the Road Dogs.
Owner's reply: Everyone loves my place and I'm always glad when they share these wonderful reviews! I know the Cherokee County area is a great place to ride motorcycles and am glad they had such a good time.
“Very comfy cabin in the mountains!”
What a wonderful five days my family of four spent at the Hummingbird cabin in Murphy, NC. It was way too warm for a fire in the fireplace, but the air conditioning was ice cold. Access to the cabin was off of a paved road about 2 miles from the four lane highway, so any type of vehicle will get you there with no problems. The water tasted great and there was plenty of pressure for showers. It was nice to come home with a suitcase full of clean clothes, since the cabin had a very modern washer and dryer. There was a beautiful, large deck that looked out on trees. There was plenty of privacy due to the thick amount of trees that surrounded the cabin. Although we didn't use it, there was a charcoal grill on the deck, with charcoal provided in the pantry. My wife and I stayed in the master room on the main floor, while our two teenage daughters stayed up in the loft, with it's own full bath. The kitchen came complete with anything you would need for cooking a full meal or light snacks. There was even a dishwasher. Probably my only disappointment, was when the morning came and we had to leave. Oh, yeah...did I mention the cabin has high speed wi-fi. At times we had three laptops going and it never sputtered. There are two flat screen TV's and one regular TV that must be on dish network, since you get so many channels. This was the perfect place for us to stay, and I can't wait to go back...hopefully this fall!
Owner's reply: I love my renters! I love hearing that they enjoyed their stay in my cabin. I strive to ensure all my renters have the same experience. Bob sent me a personal email telling me what a great time they had and that they plan to come back. It was also nice that he went online to post a review. That just makes my day!
