Description of the Narragansett vacation home rental
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Short walk to Scarborough beach, avoid beach parking fees. CENTRAL AIR.

Want a clean, nicely furnished house with a short walk to the beach? You found it! No beach passes needed or parking lot fees to pay as Scarborough Beach is one block (2/10 of a mile) away. You can see the ocean from the front porch steps and from the east facing bedroom. When surf is strong, at night you can hear the rolling waves from the east bedroom.

The bath & kitchen have been modernized. The living room is furnished with comfortable upholstered furniture & our three spacious bedrooms have Queen size beds and the cottage charm of original wood planked ceilings.

Lots of recent renovations to flooring, lighting and newly redecorated bedrooms compliment the exterior upgrades (new roof, siding, windows and trex deck) made recently. WE ARE CLOSE TO THE OCEAN AND THE BEACH!

HOUSE RULES: Our home is best suited for families, our maximum occupancy is 6. We do not accept renters under 25 years old. NO PETS, NO SMOKING.
No more than 2 children under the age of 5.

Guests bring their own linens, towels and beach gear. We provide a cart to load up gear for short walk to beach.

Area Information
Narragansett has several great beaches to explore. SCARBOROUGH BEACH (which is the closest to the house at 2/10 mile) offers body surfing and boogie-board riding on it's rolling surf. This is a state beach. It has concession stands & bath house with toilets. NO FEE TO WALK ON BEACH. Short walk from our home.

ROGER WHEELER BEACH: (also known as Sand Hill Cove) is two miles away, has gentler waves for the timid and a playground for the toddlers.

NARRAGANSETT TOWN BEACH: is approx. one mile away, there is a fee to enter Narragansett Town beach. NO FEE TO WALK ON BEACH, PARKING FEES APPLY.

The relatively flat area is great for bike riding, walking or jogging.

Deep sea fishing charters, the Block Island Ferry and fish markets are a 5 minute car ride away in the fishing port called Galilee. Explore Newport and tour the mansions or walk the cobblestone wharfs, approx 20 minute drive away.

Shopping and restaurants galore! Nearby the house are many family and upscale restaurants, as well as supermarkets, ice cream parlors, movie theatres and a bowling alley. Adventureland offers batting cages, go-carts and minigolf to keep the kids happy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How close to the beach is the house?
A: We are a block from the beach ( 2/10 of a mile to be more exact).
Q: Do I have to pay a beach fee?
A: No, there is no fee to walk onto the beach. There is a fee if you need to park in the beach parking lot, but from our location it's an easy walk.
Q: Are there other activities for our family to do?
A: Yes! There are fishing boats nearby that will take your family out in local waters. Minigolf, bumper boats, batting cages and a carousel are also nearby. There are movie theaters and bowling as well.
Q: Where do we shop and eat?
A: There is a Cumberland Farms ( convenience store) less than a mile away. There is also a large Stop and Shop approx 3 miles away.
We have lots of clam shacks, casual and upscale dining to choose from all within a five mile range.
Q: What should we bring?
A: Bring your personal items, plus bed linens, towels ( for house and beach), a cooler, beach chairs and a beach umbrella.
You could also include beach toys and boogie boards for children, but they can be purchased locally if needed.

If you have a bike rack, you can bring bikes along. The area is generally flat and there is a nice bike path about 5 miles away. We ask that you store your bikes in the outdoor shower overnight ( and not bring them in the home).
