"Rules" made it sound better than it was

July 16, 2013

The house was pretty run down and in our opinion dirty. We emailed the person in charge the next morning and received an email back from the owner stating it was cleaned, everyone else has enjoyed it, on and on and on. I explained to her and I'll state it here: The switch plates were dirty, we came in and walked through cob/spider webs, the counters were dirty/dusty. We had to clean and lysol before we could set things down. There are marks ALL over the walls. There are stain marks on the ceilings where there were leaks. There are stains ALL over the carpets. There was a "used" or previously wet wash cloth in the master shower. One sink in the master bath doesn't work well. There is a broken window. A broken fireplace door. The bar sink is corroded. The garage is an absolute mess - stuff everywhere and water - and it smells musty. There is a piece of floor tile missing. It was EXTREMELY slippery on one part of the floor - my 3 year old grandson slipped and fell and hit his head (my 73 year old mother fell the next day). I'll stop here. I brought this all to their attention and they were offended. I was telling them to help them out - I just told them that it needed a really good cleaning and some maintenace and it would be a really nice house. Plus if someone falls on that floor and gets hurt, or if we wanted to be jerks about it... but anyways, and btw, they don't want anyone smoking anywhere near the house or eating cookies in bed or something like that... We only bathed and slept there - Nashville if a great place to visit and we weren't too far - except there is NO PLACE TO EAT around here - so once you see a place you had better stop!

Very Comfortable!

April 25, 2013

Went for a girls weekend in Nashville. The home was perfect! Did not have to deal with traffic, as the home is Northwest of Nashville. Home is in a small town so eating establishments are limited. But we did go to Ashland about 15 minutes away and the selection was better. If you want privacy and seclusion, this is the place. We loved it. The owner was wonderful to deal with and someone was always available to help us.

Sick of Hotels!

April 10, 2013

My family and I were in Nashville for a wedding event, and I am sick of hotels and what little they have to offer! I found this home on Vacation Home Rentals and contacted the owner. She was very very nice, and went out of her way to accomodate us. When we arrived, the home was spotless and was just as advertised. Our stay there was VERY enjoyable, and comfortable, and we will definitely stay here again!

April 30, 2012

I sent numerous e-mails, trying to arrange a stay for my parents. I never heard a single word from the owners. Why keep it listed??!?!?

When we arrived at the house it had not been cleaned from the previous guests. I called the property manager and she took care of this at once. The house is very nice and spacious. Large kitchen and 3 nice size bedrooms, two humongous bathrooms. Deck is very nice but needs some furniture out there and that would be great. It's about a 25-30 minute drive to downtown Nashville. I would recommend staying here. Can't beat the price for what you get.

Country House

June 29, 2010

This house was perfect for us! It was in a beautiful country area, yet only about 20 minutes from Nashville. The yard is not fenced, but is large. The deck is also large. There was adequate cooking items, like pots / pans, etc. Not great, but adequate. There are also basics for cooking, like sugar, spices, ect. There is a sunken living room, which may be a hazard for some folks. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms are large. Each bedroom has a TV. There is a washer and dryer, which is great for a family. There is a grocery store a few miles a way. I would stay there again.

Don't be mislead. HORRIBLE PROPERTY

March 3, 2010

We received an email the day before check in that stated "The Cedar Chateau is ready for your arrival" only to drive fifteen hours and arrive at the rental that was not ready. Two people and a dog were inside the "pet-free" establishment. The lock box code given in the previous email was not a working code, so we were unable to get to the key. The linens were not finished being laundered, and there were mice droppings and mouse traps all over the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms. I immediately called the house manager who was apologetic but did not follow through on promises. It was like a nightmare with two small children in a strange town at the dark of night, forcing strangers out of a house. Unfortunately we were in town for my young daughter's surgery at a near-by hospital, so given the late hour and our not knowing the area, we had no choice but to clean for ourselves and stay in the house until we could secure something else. We found used silverware under beds and other reasons that made us realize why there may be a pest problem. We did check out early and asked only for our "cleaning fee" to be returned since we cleaned the property ourselves. We have yet to be reimbursed or to hear from the rental manager or owner in response to my email. Do not believe the lies! Do not rent this house or others listed by this owner.

Just Perfect!

July 3, 2009

This was a much better idea than a hotel! The owners of the home are simply amazing! They were so caring and attentive! The house is beautiful, large, and has plenty of space! Definitely recommended! About 25 minutes to everything, which is perfect because you are out of hustle and bustle of everything!

Comfortable home with easy access

April 6, 2009

This was a very comfortable home with all the amenities for relaxing and enjoying time off. The home was easy to find and there was something to do in every direction, especially around Nashville. The country setting was very nice, as were the neighbors. Everyone in the area proved to be very friendly. The house was equipped to accommodate 6 adults easily, or a fairly large family. We would certainly recommend it to others.
