Amazing Getaway just outside of Nashville
June 18, 2015
We came to Nashville looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of CMA Festival and what we got was WAY more! The property is simply breath taking. Morning coffee on the porch was so refreshing. Mary and her husband were gracious hosts and provided everything we needed for our stay, even the much needed BUG SPRAY! But we really enjoyed our stay and plan to visit and hopefully stay in this cabin again.
A nice stay

Magical entrance up a tree-lined drive to a comfortable cabin. Next to a state park with plenty of wildlife in both the park and on the grounds (though I still haven't figured out why one of the turkeys was so intent on trying to get into our car). Cabin itself comfortably furnished; very nice owner. Two large, comfortable bedrooms. One bath might have been a drawback had we had more than four in our party.
Not so happy camper
Great Potential: needs deep cleaning/maintenance

Driving up to this beautiful site and authentic log cabin was exciting. There is so much to love about this place-nature, daily deer visits, seclusion. The king bed was very comfortable, the home spacious. But then the negatives and it is with great regret that I write this. The kitchen was scary and one reason we rented this place was to be able to prepare our food. The kitchen appliances were not functioning properly; the cupboards on the inside were grimy and looked like they had not been cleaned in years; the pots and pans were not usable due to rusted out cast iron skillets and pots looked very old, cheap and unsafe to use. There was a tea kettle with water, but how long had the water been sitting in there and given the appearance of the other equipment, made you question the safety since you could not see inside. In general the cabin was dirty, log walls were filled with cobwebs and dust. The bath towels were tattered and falling apart. At night the bath tub would fill with bugs. The grounds outside had broken parts of stuff, and rusted out grills, and in general looked neglected. Our experience with the owner was less than satisfactory. During the setup arrangements she was easy to get a hold of thru email. We never heard from her during our stay. We were expecting some of her hospitality with her advertised famous biscuits. We had to contact her to get our security deposit back. The contract said she would return it by one month after the stay. At six weeks, we still had not heard anything, and had to make a couple of contact attempts. There was no apology for the lapse and she only indicated in her email that she had been busy.

Precious log cabin. So cozy. So clean. So private. We hiked, read books, watched deer every morning. A wonderful escape yet so close to Nashville. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Our family of four had the most delighful stay at this cottage, owners could not have been more accomendating, with the wild nature at your back and front door and a pool in the backyard, one could not ask for anymore. It was a simple short drive into Nashville with all it's hustle and bustle, but getting back to this cabin was the perfect retreat!!
amazing little cottage

I am so glad we decided to stay at this cottage. My family and I enjoyed it immensely. It is the perfect mix of out in the country and close to the city. The wildlife roaming by the house was amazing and I almost had a deer eat right out of my hand. We will be booking again in the future the next time we visit Nashville. It felt like home as soon as I walked in.

BEST VACATION EVER

I loved this home, I call it a home and not a house because I truly felt at home. The owners are beyond helpful. I just can't say a single bad thing about anything, from the process of renting to the actual stay to afterwards. I hope to visit TN again and this will be the first place I will check for availability. My family and I had the best time.Thank you so much.

Log Home Retreat

Great getaway from the normal stays in Nashville. Still close to the city and truly enjoyed the wildlife. The property was clean and decorated nicely. Would definitely stay there again and the pool is a plus depending on the weather. Don't know if its heated or not but too cool to swim in when we were there.
This is not the property that we stayed at.

We stayed at the property, "Monty's Cabin." Unfortunately, we had a water line break in the house, but the owners were great about giving us our money back for the days we did not stay. We left 2 days early because of the water.

This is the cutest, most comfortable cabin! Such charm! Maryann was so helpful and nice! The pool was just perfect! It is definitely a nature lover's dream! Rustic, but that is the real charm about it! Our only complaint is that our trip was way to short! We will be back for a longer time!

Unique, Nature-filled, yet Convenient Home
April 6, 2013
Our family of 6 spent a week here the last week of March 2013. The description of the house was true when it said it was a "Nature Lover's Retreat!" What a gorgeous location. We saw turkey and deer (and lots of them) multiple times each day we were there. A great walking trail around a lake is just a short walk down the road. There is even a very nice playground at the lake. Even though we felt like we were way out in the woods, any shopping we needed - from Target to Kroger to Walmart and Aldi- was less than 10 minutes north of the house. Downtown Nashville took about 20 minutes which we felt was worth it for the peace and quiet of the home's location. Maryann, the owner, was very easy to work with and prompt. The home/cabin is so unique - gorgeous wood and nice furniture throughout. The kitchen has all newer appliances. There was ample space for us to eat and hang out. It was a bit cold the week we were visiting, but we still used the HUGE patio out back several times. It is very comfortable and lovely. There were only a few things that weren't great. The property was said to sleep 6 and have 2 beds, which slept a total of 4 people. This is true. We just assumed this meant there were couches that made into beds for the other 2 people. This is not the case. The couches were the beds. Thankfully, we had brought some sleeping bags. While the appliances in the kitchen were great, the kitchen itself wasn't very well stocked. There wasn't a full set of dishes, glasses, silverware or cooking utensils. We figured it out and made do, but this was out of character for most places we've stayed with full kitchens. Finally, there have been animals in this house at least sometimes. We don't have any allergies, but if we had, it wouldn't have been good. The house was clean, but it was still evident a cat had been there. All in all, it was a good week!

We traveled to Tn to see our son, we wanted a place were we could all get together as a family that was quiet and relaxing. The Log Home was just what we were looking for, there was everything we needed right there, we could enjoy the wildlife, swim in the pool and spend the evenings sitting on the patio around the fire pit makind S'mores! The cabin was decorated beautifully and had all you will need for a perfect week or weekend away from the city, but close enough to go into town or go out on the lake. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a peacefull getaway.
