Excellent Customer Service!!

March 28, 2016

Martina Lohrum went above and beyond to help us when our much anticipated and long planned family vacation hit a very unfortunate circumstance. Through no fault of hers or ours, as a result of hackers, we found ourselves a family of 10, in a foreign country, with no place to stay. Martina worked tirelessly (11 straight hours!) with us, combing the island and calling everyone she could think of, to help us find lodging. This proved extremely difficult as it was high season with spring break and Easter week, but find us lodging she did!! Martina kept all of us from losing our minds, and I honestly cannot say enough about the help that she gave us. I would never hesitate to rent a property from her in the future. Her properties are beautiful and well maintained, and Martina is a professional who does actually care about her customers!! Even after she had secured us a place, she still continued to follow up with us and make sure everything was going okay. My advice, and the advice that I will adhere from now on when booking online with any site, is I will also always call as well and make sure that I am actually dealing with the legitimate owner, before making any money transactions. Martina, our family simply cannot thank you enough for going way above and beyond in helping us in our trying time of need!!

Super comfortable setting

December 8, 2015

Wonderful place to stay. Right on ocean. Great view to wake up to everyday. House was comfortable for 9 of us. Denise and Hilton were great to work with! We had our own car so it was great to go do things during the day and be at "home" in the evenings. Lots of good suggestions on places to see, things to do and good local haunts. We loved it. Our ages ranged from 22 to 73. All were happy with the choice and trip.

Two wonderful weeks

October 1, 2015

We had two weeks in the Cottage and loved every minute of it, nice and quiet. The Cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The view was wonderful and it was lovely to have the sea a few feet away from the porch. Wonderful to sit outside in the morning and have your breakfast and have a view of the sea. The bed and pillows were really comfortable for a good nights sleep and the air conditioning worked really well. We only called Denise once to assist us was to change the light bulb on the Porch light and she came very quickly. The supermarket was within walking distance however we used a hire car. We drove all around the island. We did visit Paradise Island and Cabbage beach but we prefer less touristy places, hence we frequented Love Beach, got to know the people who worked there and enjoyed their hospitality. Denise recommended the Conch Salad at a road side stall near Compass point on the way to Love Beach and it was wonderful and delicious. We ate out in Fish Fry, the Cricket Club and the Poop deck where the food is cheap, wonderful and plentiful and on those nights we stayed in we used the barbeque. We felt like we were at home. Hilton the taxi driver couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating during our stay, anything you wanted or needed Hilton would help. All in all we loved the Bahamas its people and the wonderful colourful houses, England looked so grey and dull when we came home. I recommend the Bahamas for a wonderful relaxing holiday, the Cottage for a wonderful place to stay and Hilton as your taxi driver.

Family vacation

July 11, 2015

Excellent home directly on the ocean. House was very spacious for a party of 7 that included 4 children. House is located on the east side of the island. Denise was extremely helpful and connected us with a very reliable driver that was available whenever we needed. Access to the water is directly on the property. You will need water shoes as there are many rocks. A short 5 minute walk will take you to a less rocky beach. Overall a great vacation. Highly recommend you bring as much non perishables as you can with you to the island(cereal, pasta, sauce and snacks) especially if you are traveling with children. Food is highly overpriced in the supermarkets on the island.

Fantastic, clean and well equipped

July 28, 2011

Our family of 8 spent a week here and it was a wonderful home base in Nassau as well as one of the best parts of our vacation. The villa is spacious, neat and well equipped (TV, A/C, WiFi, complete kitchen and a BBQ to boot). Ideal for families, folks on retreat or even a small group of friends. The sea is steps away and decent for snorkeling the beach is 5 minutes walk. We marveled at the amazing sunrises we experienced here and had a great and overall restful and stress free stay. Martina is extremely helpful and accommodating and made sure everything is clear. I hope to come back here soon. What a great find!

We stayed in the Villa for a week. Very clean, spacious, comfortable, and accommodating. The Owner is a gem. Great location if you like to get out of the main stream and hustle of the downtown. Convenient to groceries. Very quiet. Sunrise every morning. The local Bahamians are so friendly. Wouldn't hesitate coming back to this place again.

You won't want to leave.

January 28, 2011

The pictures and descriptions don't do justice. The house brings the outside indoors to a very open living, dining, and kitchen space on the main floor with a large porch that begs one to sit and enjoy the water which you can practically reach out and touch. A great kitchen with new appliances make it so easy to whip up a snack or a meal and we took advantage of the nearby fisherman with their fresh catches they offer each afternoon. There is a small yard with beach chairs and a small sandy area next to the breakwater and the water is right there. A car is pretty much a necessity as it is in a private neighborhood part of the island. Nearby grocery and liquor store are convenient and the restaurants are 15 minutes driving and are quite good. Rush hour traffic is slow but everyone is so friendly, we didn't mind. Driving downtown is interesting but not a real problem. There is so much to see and do on the island but the house draws you to it, to sit and enjoy and not want to leave. It was a great balance to be out and about and then to come back to the Villa to kick back, have a cocktail, whip up a snack or dinner, and just relax. I had to pry my kids and wife out of the house at the end of our stay; they didn't want to leave. Neither did I. Our contact was a pleasure to work with during the booking process and during our stay. She made everything easy. We would certainly recommend this great property and are already planning our return.
