“Awesome!!!”

Reviewed 18 May 2016

My friend and I stayed in the cabin for 5 nights. It is exactly as shown on the site. Parking is at the front door. The view from the deck of sunrise over the mountains is indescribable and totally awesome. The cabin is big, clean, beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The inside is styled with a lot of pine paneling and timbers, high ceiling in the great room, stone fireplace, and hardwood floors. Being so spacious, there's plenty of room for 4-6 adults. It's at least 30-40 minutes to get down the mountain, out of the development and onto a highway to get where you want to go but it's worth it. We bought groceries at Food Lion in Marion. There's also a fabulous ice cream stand in town. We of course made a day trip to Biltmore, then to Lake Lure and into the Pisgah Forest to see the gorge overlook - all outstanding. We visited in May; don't know how it would be getting in and out of the development in the winter if there's any snow or bad weather. The other cabins in the development are similar - big and beautiful and on acreage - and the area is spotlessly clean. The owner was very responsive and informative, and the driving directions and door code for entry were given to us in a timely manner. We'd definitely return and rent this cabin if we ever travel to the Asheville area again.

“Magical mountain holiday”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2016

My husband and I took my mom for a magical holiday in the mountains and we could not be more please with the cabin, the views were never disappointing, the fire place was just delightful and the property was kept nice and clean. We were very please with the place, the views and the owners. It was the perfect size for the three of us but could easily accommodate another person or two. If you are looking for a remote mountain getaway, this is definitely the place.

Owner's reply: We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay in our cabin. We welcome you back. Thank you very much.

“Beautiful views and relaxing visit”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2013

Spacious, comfortable, and clean living areas. Home in gated community with walking trails and beautiful lake. Great location- close to Lake James, Marion, South Mtn State Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, Linville Falls, and Lake Lure; but, community is private and quite. Wonderful mountain views. Very relaxing stay. We were given great instructions and directions, and it was very easy to deal with the owner. It is so much better than staying in a hotel. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

“September In Grandview”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2012

Sam, This is the second time we stayed at Morningstar and we never get tired of the beautiful sunrises each day. Your home is clean, open and very comfortable and has spactacular views. We hope to come back again in early June as we plan to meet with a builder to begin construction of our home. Thank You for the opportunity to stay at Morningstar, a preview to when our home is ready to move in. Warm Regards, Tim & Michele

Owner's reply: Thank you Tim and Michele We look forward to being your neighbors at Grandview Peaks and welcome you back to our cabin anytime. Regards, Sam

“Get away from it all”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2012

We wanted a vacation where we could get away from all the hustle and bustle. Our vacation at Morning Star allowed us to do just that. Only had one car drive by the house the whole week we were there. Quiet, peaceful setting. Beautiful house with a lot of space. However, we also have two small children that we needed to keep entertained and there are plenty of activities in the area. Went into Marion to let the kids play on a sprayground. Drove to Lake James State park for fun at the lake. Took a longer drive to Blowing Rock to go to Tweetsie Railroad. All-in-all, there was something for each one of us to enjoy. We look forward to coming back soon.
